Chapter 123 You've Arrived at Your Place

"Master, isn't this the way to Jingxing Hotel?"

Xia Baozhu looked out at the pitch black outside the car; there wasn't even a single light.

"I took a shortcut, we'll be there soon," the driver grinned.

"Then I'll get off here," Xia Baozhu said tentatively.

It would have been better if she hadn't said anything, because as soon as she did, the driver stepped on the gas, giving Xia Baozhu a very strong push.

Xia Baozhu leaned back in the back seat, watching indifferently where he was going to drive the car.

At this point, grabbing the steering wheel from the driver is a risky move, and you might even make some new discoveries.

It just so happens that she still has some pent-up anger tonight, so a few punching bags wouldn't be bad.

The driver glanced back at Xia Baozhu, thinking that his acceleration had given her the illusion that they were almost there, which was why she had quieted down.

It's good to maintain this illusion.

Little did she know that she wouldn't be able to go home tonight.

A promiscuous woman who runs from one place to another in the middle of the night deserves whatever retribution she may receive.

Such a person is wasting food by living; they would be better off doing something meaningful for others.

Xia Baozhu rearranged the bed sheet over her head, leaving only her eyes visible.

She looked at her bare feet and sighed; her feet were going to suffer tonight.

Brother Guan, Ye Xiaobo, well done.

Use their own methods against them.

After driving for another twenty minutes or so, the car left the city.

The driver stopped the car, honked the horn lightly, turned around, and said with a wicked grin, "We've arrived at your destination."

He dragged out the sentence, and the addition of such an unfamiliar key word created a sense of suspense.

In the bungalow ahead, illuminated by the car headlights, two sleepy-eyed men emerged from the doorway. They rubbed their eyes and cursed under the glaring headlights.

"This isn't the place I need to go."

Xia Baozhu coldly responded to the driver's words while extending her hand.

He grabbed the unsuspecting driver by the neck and dragged his upper body from the driver's seat to the back seat like a chicken.

The driver tried to pry Xia Baozhu's hand open, but he could only manage to pry it open once before he could no longer exert any strength.

Xia Baozhu opened the car door and got out. The driver's eyes had already rolled back from being pinched by her, and his legs were still kicking incessantly.

After throwing the unconscious driver to the ground, Xia Baozhu quickly slapped each of the two men who were cursing and walking over.

Teeth mixed with blood flew out of their gaping mouths, followed by the heavy thud of their bodies hitting the ground.

Xia Baozhu walked lightly into the courtyard.

She had no choice but to be light and agile, as her entire soles felt too cold when they landed.

This place should be a village on the outskirts of Ming City, and the courtyard she entered was located on the edge of the village.

After getting used to the darkness, I could see the outlines of houses in the distance. This village must be quite nice, with many tall tiled houses.

"Why is it so slow?" A man walked out of a side room, muttering to himself, but he also cautiously carried an axe.

Xia Baozhu stopped and did not move again.

The black bed sheet she was wearing provided her with camouflage to blend into the darkness.

When the man arrived, Xia Baozhu made her move unexpectedly.

A snow-white, crystal-clear hand seemed to suddenly grow out of the darkness and grabbed the man's neck.

Ignoring the man's desperate struggles, Xia Baozhu slowly increased her strength.

Choking is very effective, preventing people from screaming, but it's also too vulnerable, and she was afraid of not being able to control herself and strangling the person to death.

When the man's struggles lessened and he gradually stopped moving, Xia Baozhu gently placed him on the ground.

She continued to tiptoe into the yard.

The group was very cautious, keeping the lights off, which made her actions easier.

Xia Baozhu deliberately made some noise as she pushed open the door to the room where the man had just come out.

"You're back? What's this time...?"

A deep male voice came from the bed. Suddenly he sensed something was wrong and jumped off the bed.

His response was a fierce punch from a dark shadow, like being hit by a truck, and he seemed to hear the sound of bones shattering in his left chest.

Immediately afterwards, a sharp pain shot through his temple, and the man fainted.

Xia Baozhu groped her way to the light box and turned on the light, illuminating the room.

She searched the room and found a hunting rifle on the bedside table of the unconscious man. She took the gun and continued searching, finding a notebook as well.

It contains the date, address, number, and amount of money.

Xia Baozhu instinctively felt that these were their account books, but she didn't take them; instead, she put them in a pile of dirty clothes.

They also found a locked iron box, which Xia Baozhu forcibly opened. Inside were stacks of neatly wrapped money, some in bundles of one hundred, some in bundles of fifty, and the most common were large denomination bills.

Xia Baozhu also threw it into her dirty clothes.

She wouldn't even take that money if it were given to her for free.

Having found no further use for searching, Xia Baozhu went to the opposite side room, which was a kitchen with nothing in it.

Finally, she arrived at the main room and pushed the door, but it wouldn't budge.

"Who is it?" came the sound of a middle-aged woman's footsteps from inside the house, her voice filled with vigilance.

Xia Baozhu put in more effort and managed to unlock the inner door. She pushed the door open and went inside.

Using the light from outside, Xia Baozhu saw a middle-aged woman wearing a coat standing in front of the door.

Her eyes were filled with terror as she watched Xia Baozhu approach step by step, and then she suddenly realized what was happening.

Before she could even cry for help, Xia Baozhu's slap landed.

The middle-aged woman felt as if she had been hit by a running bull; her body slammed heavily against the wall, slid to the ground, and she fainted.
