Chapter 208 Fan Hua is in the spotlight again

At first, the audience was very quiet. No one knew who Comrade Fan Zhou Xue was talking about, and there was not much reaction.

Later, someone said, "Comrade Fan is Captain Zhao's wife, the military wife who just played the role of a soldier!"

So this sentence spread quickly among the audience, and soon the audience began to cheer in anticipation.

The soldiers under Zhao Yilu of the Second Company of the First Battalion shouted directly, "Sister-in-law Fan, come one! Sister-in-law Fan, come one!"

Zhao Yilu stood up and glared at his soldiers, and then the guys quieted down.

Fan Hua was unexpectedly pushed to the forefront of public opinion.

Chief Lu smiled. He hadn’t seen enough of the little girl’s performance just now and wanted to see how capable Fan Hua was.

So he stood up, turned around and looked behind him, and shouted in the direction where the wives of the soldiers were sitting, "Comrade Fan, since everyone wants to see your performance so much, then just give us another one. It doesn't matter if you perform well or not. Don't worry about it. Today is a good day, and we just want to have some fun!"

Fan Hua sighed helplessly. Why did she always have to perform impromptu on stage? It seemed that she would have to make more preparations for every evening performance in the future. She couldn't keep a low profile even if she wanted to!

Fan Hua stood up, walked to the stage with confidence, and kindly helped Zhou Xue down from the stage.

After Zhou Xue stepped off the stage, she curled her lips and sneered at Fan Hua on the stage. She just couldn't believe that a country bumpkin could be lucky every time. Being called on stage without any preparation like this would make even her panic. It would be strange if Fan Hua didn't embarrass herself! She was waiting to see Fan Hua's joke today!

When Fan Hua stood on the stage, the soldiers were shocked again. If she was not still wearing the same military uniform, they could confirm from her figure that she was the soldier's wife who played the role of the soldier. It would be hard for everyone to believe that the "soldier" would be so beautiful without makeup. She was as beautiful as a newly blooming orchid!

Fan Hua took the microphone and said with a smile, "Thank you all for liking the program prepared by our first battalion's wives. Since Comrade Zhou Xue's foot is injured, I will shamelessly go on stage today to complete this perfect, impromptu performance. Please forgive me for my lack of preparation!"

After saying this, Fan Hua remembered that the art troupe had just performed the accordion, so she borrowed the accordion from the male art soldier and plugged the microphone into the microphone stand.

Fan Hua smiled and said, "Then today I will sing another popular song "Sweet Honey" for everyone. I hope that everyone can find a different kind of sweetness from the hard military life in the new year!"

(Note: "Sweet Honey" was first sung by Teresa Teng on September 20, 1979, and quickly became popular all over the country.)

Fan Hua tuned the piano, took a deep breath and began to play. Her fingers jumped nimbly on the keys and beautiful melody flowed out instantly.

When she started singing, her sweet voice was like the sound of nature, and everyone in the audience couldn't help but be immersed in it.

Zhou Xue, who was originally waiting to see a joke, became extremely ugly. She didn't expect Fan Hua to be so talented!

I gave up the chance to perform the finale just to laugh at her, but I didn't expect that I would give her an extra chance to perform in the end!

She was so angry that she could barely hold back her kicking of the wall...

Zhang Tao, a male arts soldier who had been paying attention to Zhou Xue, immediately stepped forward and asked with great concern: "Comrade Zhou, are you okay? You just sprained your ankle? Why don't you sit down and heal your injury? I'll take you to the infirmary first! Don't let your injury get too serious!"

Zhou Xue glared at Zhang Tao and asked, "Why did you lend her the accordion just now?!"

After saying that, he pretended to limp and sat aside, but he couldn't suppress the anger in his heart!

Zhang Tao looked aggrieved. He looked at Zhou Xue, then towards the stage. His eyes were gloomy, as if he understood something...

Fan Hua was still singing seriously on the stage. She was like the sun in the sky, emitting dazzling light, making everyone look up at her.

When the song ended, thunderous applause broke out from the audience. The soldiers cheered and many even shouted for another song.

Chief Lu couldn't help but nod his head repeatedly, turned around and praised Zhao Yilu: "Comrade Fan is indeed a man of hidden talents."

Zhao Yilu looked at his radiant wife on the stage, his heart filled with pride. Ever since he married Fan Hua, he felt that he had gotten a great bargain every moment!

At the end of the song, Fan Hua bowed slightly to express her gratitude, then slowly walked off the stage holding her accordion.

The host came on stage and delivered the final closing words, celebrating the successful conclusion of today's Lantern Festival Gala.

After stepping down, Fan Hua returned the accordion to Zhang Tao and expressed her gratitude to him.

Seeing Zhou Xue sitting on a chair and looking at her with sharp eyes, Fan Hua immediately stepped forward with a smile and said, "Comrade Zhou Xue, everyone has their own shining points. You don't have to always think about competing with others, otherwise you may end up shooting yourself in the foot!"

After hearing this, Zhou Xue's face turned red and white, but she couldn't say anything to refute.

Without waiting for her to reply, Fan Hua turned around and left the backstage, waiting for her Captain Zhao at the door of the auditorium to go home together.

Soldiers were walking out of the auditorium one after another. When they saw Fan Hua, they all smiled and praised her, "Hello, sister-in-law! You sing so beautifully!"

Fan Hua also responded to these lovely soldiers with a smile.

When Zhao Yilu came out and saw this scene, he couldn't help feeling jealous. What should he do? His wife was too dazzling and he couldn't hide her even if he wanted to!

Zhao Yilu walked a few quick steps to Fan Hua's side, took Fan Hua's hand, and praised her sincerely: "Wife, your performance today was really great. Not only did you act well, but you also sang beautifully!"

Fan Hua laughed, "As long as I didn't embarrass our Captain Zhao!"

Another large group of soldiers came out of the auditorium and couldn't help teasing the two people when they saw them holding hands.

Especially the soldiers under Zhao Yilu of the second company, they were like a group of happy little birds, chirping around them.

"Captain, you have to keep my sister-in-law in check. She has so many talents. What if someone gets interested in her?"

A dark-skinned soldier joked with a grin, and the people around him burst into laughter, and the laughter echoed in the open space outside the auditorium.

"That's right, my sister-in-law's appearance will probably be remembered by everyone in the regiment. Our captain will be under a lot of pressure in the future!"

Another tall and thin soldier joined in the fun, winking at Zhao Yilu as he spoke.

Zhao Yilu's face turned slightly red after hearing what they said. He glared at them and pretended to kick them in the butt. The mischievous soldiers immediately dodged with laughter.

"Stop talking nonsense here, you're itching for trouble, right? Whoever keeps hanging around here will be the first one I'll arrange to do an extra 10 kilometers of training tomorrow!"

Finally, these words had some effect, and everyone fled away.

Fan Hua felt a little embarrassed by everyone's teasing. Seeing that the people surrounding them had left, she quickly pulled Zhao Yilu and walked home. She really couldn't stand at the door any longer as it was attracting too much attention!
