Chapter 44: Meeting in Town
Grandma Qi said she would go to the city in a few days, and actually she left very soon.
Grandma Qi's daughter married into the city. There was no mother-in-law there, and there were two children at home who needed care. Grandma Qi was worried, so she often went there to stay for a few days to take care of them.
When that day came, Qin Zheng went to send Grandma Yi to town early in the morning.
Grandma Qi also chose a day off to go. Knowing that Tang Wan would also go to town today, she specifically told Qin Zheng to wait for Tang Wan to come back when he returned from town.
Tang Wan was going to refuse the request, but there was no problem going back and forth by ox cart.
But Grandma Qi was unwilling to do so, saying that it would be the same if Qin Zheng brought Tang Wan back later, so there was no need to waste money on the bus.
Tang Wan thought about it and agreed. At least when she came back in Qin Zheng's car, she didn't have to pretend to be serious and carry some things with her in case of questioning from others.
This time, Tang Wan went to the town mainly to see if there was any letter from her father.
Although time seemed to pass slowly, it had already been a month since Tang Wan sent the letter to her father.
Judging from how much Tang's father loves Tang Wan, there should be a package sent there.
When Tang Wan went there, she rode in an ox cart with Sister Yanhong.
When I arrived, I met my young lover who had been married for a few days.
The young man seemed to be doing well. His complexion was much happier than when he was at the educated youth point. It was obvious that he had eaten a little too much.
Zhao Dazhuang still had a simple smile on his face as he sat next to Qing. When he saw Tang Wan and Sister Yanhong coming over, he pointed to the seat next to Qing, meaning that it was for them.
The educated youth has no parents' home here, and there is no such thing as returning home every three days. She has not been back to the educated youth site since she got married.
Perhaps it was out of gratitude for Tang Wan's help in her wedding, or perhaps it was because her temper had become a little more mature after she got married, but Qing no longer had that picky feeling towards Tang Wan.
After a few words, the ox cart set off. Everyone on the road was half asleep. Qing leaned on Zhao Dazhuang's shoulder and dozed off, while Tang Wan and Sister Yanhong also leaned against each other and closed their eyes to rest.
After arriving in the city, Tang Wan and Sister Yanhong separated. Before parting, Tang Wan told Sister Yanhong that she would not take a car on the way back to prevent her from worrying.
The next step is to go shopping.
At the beginning, Tang Wan thought about whether she should go to the black market like Zhong Ling.
But after thinking about the money and tickets that he had that he could not use up at all, he decided not to take the risk.
Generally, the most sold items on the black market are food, but now Tang Wan is eating at Qin Zheng's house and has everything she needs.
Tang Wan even suspected that the black market might not have all the things Qin Zheng brought home.
Since we have decided not to go to the black market, the only place we can go in town is the supply and marketing center.
Grandma used the fabrics she bought in the city last time to make a few sets of clothes for Tang Wan. Tang Wan also learned how to use the sewing machine. She thought she had mastered it enough to make two sets of clothes and mail them to her father and her brother Tang Sheng.
Then this time I need to buy some more fabric from the supply and marketing department.
Apart from anything else, this simple fabric from Gongxiao is more suitable for making clothes for men, and it is all durable black and gray.
Tang Wan thought about it and picked out fabrics that could be used by three people.
Since she wanted to make clothes, she couldn't forget to make one for Grandma Yi as well.
She had bought some cloth that Grandma Qi could use, and she guessed that other people had some too, so she should make one for Qin Zheng as well.
