Chapter 45: Emergency (1/2)

Chapter 45: Emergency

The last time Qin Zheng parked his bicycle was when he brought Tang Wan here. The keys in Qin Zheng's hand and his familiar demeanor showed that he was familiar with this place.

"Where is this place?" Tang Wan asked curiously.

"It's a friend's house. He doesn't want to live here anymore, so I'm helping him look after the yard for the time being." Qin Zheng replied.

Tang Wan was still unfamiliar with Qin Zheng's circle of friends. Apart from Dongzi who often came to his house to visit him, she didn't know who else Qin Zheng interacted with.

Tang Wan recalled that when she first saw Qin Zheng in the state-owned restaurant, the two people next to him should also be his friends.

As a future big boss, it is not surprising that Qin Zheng has his own network of relationships.

Tang Wan didn't think about anything else at this moment. After all, the room was cooler.

Qin Zheng first opened the door to the main room and let Tang Wan in to rest, then turned around and went outside.

Tang Wan put down the lunch box in her hand and sat down on the stool.

There wasn't anything extra in the house. Perhaps, as Qin Zheng said, the people who lived here moved away and left nothing behind.

Apart from the light bulbs and a set of tables and stools, there was nothing else in the room.

Tang Wan took a few glances but didn't observe it too much.

Qin Zheng came in from outside at this time, holding a watermelon in his hand.

It was obvious that this melon had just been fished out of the well, and the well water on the skin was evaporating quickly in the scorching air.

Qin Zheng came in and put the watermelon on the table. He took out a knife from somewhere and started cutting the watermelon skillfully.

Tang Wan's eyes lit up when she saw the watermelon.

Who knew it would be so pleasant to eat watermelon under such scorching sun?

Especially on summer nights, when sitting in the yard after dinner, Tang Wan felt that it would be even more perfect if there was watermelon.

Even if you planted crops on the land at that time, you would not be able to have enough to eat, let alone something like watermelon. Tang Wan had never seen it before, let alone eaten it.

I don't know where Qin Zheng got the watermelon he found. Tang Wan was already happy at the thought of being able to eat the cool watermelon freshly fished out of the well in such hot weather.

Qin Zheng moved quickly, placing pieces of red watermelon neatly on the table.

Qin Zheng took the knife and handed Tang Wan a piece of watermelon first.

"Thank you." Tang Wan was not polite.

I don’t know how long the watermelon had been frozen in the well water, but when I touched it, the rind was still cold.

Tang Wan swallowed the rice in one gulp and felt that the midsummer heat had disappeared by half. She squinted her eyes with some satisfaction.

After Qin Zheng handed it to Tang Wan, he ate the watermelon himself, but his attention was all on Tang Wan. Seeing that Tang Wan was eating happily, a smile appeared on the corner of his lips.

It was worth it that he had asked the transport driver to bring watermelons from the black market in another place a long time ago, because he knew that Tang Wan would like it.

By the time Tang Wan finished eating and looked up, Qin Zheng had already looked away.

"Eat more." Although Qin Zheng didn't look at Tang Wan, he knew clearly what Tang Wan did.

Fortunately, the watermelon was not big. After the two of them finished eating, Qin Zheng asked Tang Wan to rest. If she didn’t want to sleep, she could walk around the room.

After instructing Tang Wanyu, Qin Zheng went out, still without riding his bicycle.

It looked like this was where he had come to park his bike; he didn't usually ride bikes in town.

Tang Wan could also understand. Although she didn't know what Qin Zheng was doing in the town, it was definitely not something that could be done openly at the moment.
