As we took the elevator upstairs, Taohua kept talking, full of curiosity about this country. She didn't feel like leaving her family anymore.
Arrived at the door of each room
"Taohua, it's still early, go back to your room and have some rest. I'll call you when it's time to go downstairs."
"Okay, Sister Lingdang, then you should go back to your room and rest." Taohua waved to Lingdang and went back to her room.
Hotels in Country Y are much more luxurious than guesthouses in China. Even though China is developing rapidly and many new hotels have been opened, the room styles are still far behind those in foreign countries. In addition, the hotel Uncle Nan booked is very famous in Country Y, so Taohua exclaimed as soon as she entered the room.
"Wow, there's a bathtub, the bed is so soft, and there's a telephone!..." Taohua kept chattering in the room, but when she looked at the vaguely familiar European style in the room, Taohua became a little depressed...
This is similar to my sister-in-law's previous home. She looks like my brother and sister-in-law, as well as Xiaoran, Xiaoche, Xiaoguo, Yaya, and my parents.
Taohua was lying on the bed, mumbling to herself, but she was still very tired after several days of flying. She gradually felt sleepy and fell asleep in her quilt.
Boom boom boom
In her dream, Taohua vaguely heard someone knocking on her door. She rubbed her head, which was a little swollen from sleeping, and replied in a daze, "Coming, coming."
Taohua got up from the bed. She was a little confused. When she opened her eyes and looked around, she was stunned for a moment. After a slight shake of her mind, she realized that she was in a hotel, not in school...
Thinking of what Sister Lingdang had told her before, Taohua struggled to get up from the bed, tidied her clothes and hair in front of the mirror, and left the room only after making sure there was nothing wrong.
The door of Lingdang's room next door was open. Dongzi and Lingdang were sorting out the things that their second sister-in-law had brought them.
"Sister Lingdang, Brother Dongzi, are these for Uncle Nan?" Taohua looked around curiously, wanting to know what they had brought.
"Well, they are all local specialties. They should be what Uncle Nan likes to eat."
"I'll take them with you guys," Lingling said, picking up a few boxes as well. The three of them headed towards the restaurant on the second floor.
When the three arrived, Uncle Nan had not come yet, so the three of them sat down and waited for Uncle Nan to arrive.
"Sorry, something happened to me and I was late." Uncle Nanqiao arrived at about 6:30 and apologized as soon as he entered the house.
"Uncle Nan" Several people heard the voice and stood up to greet him
"You are busy with work, we are sorry to bother you, Uncle Nan, you are welcome"
"Don't be polite, come and sit down, this western restaurant tastes pretty good, you can try it," said Uncle Nan, waving to the waiter. The menu was placed on the table, and everyone ordered their favorite meals. After handing the menu back to the waiter, Uncle Nan continued, "Going abroad is too difficult in terms of food. Can Taohua cook?"
"I can do it. My sister-in-law even praised my cooking skills." Taohua nodded in response
"That's better. The house your second sister-in-law asked me to find for you is not far from here. It has one bedroom and one living room. You can cook at home and you can cook for yourself in your spare time. Money is not important, but the food here..." Uncle Nan paused for a moment and said in a more tactful way.
“Hmm… not very tasty… easy to get sick of”
Taohua couldn't help but laugh when she heard this, "I know Uncle Nan, Uncle Nan, remember to come and have dinner with me when you are free, and Uncle Nan can also try my cooking."
"Hahaha, that's great. Once you're settled, I'll go with you to see if there's anything else you need to buy," said Nanqiao's uncle. Nanqiao liked this sister-in-law very much, so he naturally treated her as his own junior. Especially since the little girl was alone here and didn't know anyone, he had to pay more attention to her.
"Then it's settled. After I pack up, I'll treat Uncle Nan to a meal," Taohua said with a smile. Thinking that she had a relative like her sister-in-law's uncle in a foreign country, she didn't seem so lonely anymore.
"Okay, it's a deal. There's a phone downstairs in your apartment. I'll give you my office and home phone numbers later. You can call me whenever you need anything," Uncle Nan said considerately. In fact, no matter whether it's the home or office phone number, it's confidential for someone in his position. But he was worried that the little girl wouldn't speak up, so he just told her in a relaxed way.
"Okay, then Uncle Nan, please don't find me annoying." But having said that, Taohua is not a child anymore. Even though she is not in that position, she has heard about how busy Uncle Nan is at work. In recent years, she often hears her sister-in-law say that her uncle is so busy that he can't come back for the New Year. Occasionally, he will be called away in the middle of the phone. So although she agreed readily, she was not prepared to trouble Uncle Nan for everything.
Several people talked and laughed, and had a very pleasant meal. After the meal, Lingdang and Dongzi took the things they had prepared in advance from the cabinet on the wall and placed them in front of Uncle Nan.
"Uncle Nan, this is what Sister Qiao asked us to bring. Uncle and Auntie have also prepared a lot for you."
"Hey, thank you for your concern. You came all the way here and brought all these things with you." Uncle Nan looked at those things and felt warm in his heart. Someone at home was thinking about him, and he felt comforted in his daily hustle and bustle.
"You can't go back home for a year, and Sister Qiao and the others think you miss home. We are just helping to get it, so please don't be polite with us." Lingling saw Uncle Nan starting to thank them again, and hurriedly stopped him. They thanked each other so many times during the meal that they didn't know how many times they thanked each other.
"Okay, I'll keep the things, but keep these for Taohua," Uncle Nan said as he picked out three boxes from the pile and put them aside for Taohua. He then continued, "Keep them. These are easy to handle. They're easy to make and preserve if you keep them there. I live alone and I don't eat much on a daily basis."
