"Da Ya, I haven't eaten anything all day, can you grill some meat for me?" Gu Sang said.
"Sister, I know, so I specially went to pick some wild fruits. We'll make wild fruit cookies in a little while," Daya said, looking at Gu Sang.
"Wild fruit biscuits?" Gu Sang was taken aback upon hearing this.
“Yes, sister, you know that we usually eat wild vegetables or other things preserved with salt, so we need wild fruits to fill our stomachs now,” Daya explained to Gu Sang.
"Da Ya, what are wild fruit biscuits?" Li Rong asked curiously upon hearing this.
“That’s how it is. I’ll teach you how to do it in a bit, and you can figure it out yourself!” Daya said upon hearing this.
"Okay, okay!" Li Rong nodded happily and said.
"Sister, let me serve you a bowl of soup first. Drink some soup to fill your stomach," said Da Ya, handing Li Rong a steaming bowl of rabbit soup.
"Okay, thank you, Daya." Li Rong nodded.
"Sister, you should try it, it tastes really good," Daya said.
Upon hearing this, Li Rong opened her mouth and took a bite. Immediately, she smelled a rich aroma of meat. Li Rong couldn't help but close her eyes and enjoy the delicious taste.
"Mmm, it tastes really good!" Li Rong praised.
"Haha, isn't it delicious! This is the first time I've ever eaten wild game!" Daya said happily upon hearing this.
“Yes, that’s really good, Daya. We can eat wild fruit biscuits more often in the future.” Li Rong nodded and said.
“That would be great!” Daya nodded and said.
Da Ya and Li Rong chatted as they ate roasted wild rabbit.
"Da Ya, your wild fruit cookies are quite delicious, much better than those sold in fancy restaurants." Li Rong finished eating a wild fruit cookie, looked up at Da Ya, and said with a smile.
"That's because wild fruits taste better than the stuff sold in fancy restaurants," Daya said upon hearing this.
"Da Ya, these are wild fruit biscuits. Are they different from other wild fruits?" Li Rong asked after hearing Da Ya's words.
“Of course it’s different. This wild fruit biscuit is made from wild goat meat. When you eat it, it’s like eating wild grass. It’s very fresh.” Daya looked at Li Rong and said seriously.
"Oh, I see!" Li Rong nodded upon hearing this. "Da Ya, from now on, when I eat wild grass every day, I'll use this wild fruit to make wild fruit cookies."
“Okay, as long as you like it, that’s fine. I like wild fruit cookies too.” Daya nodded and said.
"By the way, Daya, Xiaohei hasn't woken up yet, and we haven't roasted any rabbit for him," Gu Sang said, looking at Daya.
"Sister, don't worry, Little Black will wake up soon. Its belly is already full," Daya said upon hearing this.
"Mm." Gu Sang nodded, picked up the pheasant and wild duck from the table, put them into the pot, and started cooking.
About half an hour later, Gu Sang brought a plate of pheasant and wild duck to Li Rong.
"Sister, let me help you!" Daya stood up and said when she saw this.
"No need, you can just sit and wait. I can handle these things myself," Gu Sang said, shaking her head.
“Alright!” Daya nodded and said.
Daya picked up the stool next to her and placed it next to Li Rong.
"You eat first, I'll go roast the rest of the pheasant meat for Xiao Hei," Gu Sang said to Li Rong.
"Okay, sure." Li Rong nodded, picked up her chopsticks, and began to eat the pheasant meat.
"Delicious, Gu Sang, your cooking is really good," Li Rong said after finishing her meal.
"Da Ya, you should try this pheasant meat too, it's really delicious," Gu Sang said with a smile.
"Sister, you're so kind, thank you." Daya said with a smile after hearing Gu Sang's words.
"You're my brother, if I'm not good to you, who else should I be good to?" Gu Sang said with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Li Rong stood up, intending to go with Gu Sang to grill chicken.
But the two firmly stopped her. "You're injured now, don't move." Gu Sang's words left no room for argument. Li Rong pursed her lips, and in the end, she sat back down without saying anything.
Li Rong sat on the stool, watching Gu Sang and Daya roast the pheasant. Then she took out a twig, skewered the pheasant, and placed it on the rack, ready to start roasting it.
When Da Ya saw Gu Sang starting to prepare, she took the plates and left the room to go to the kitchen to help Gu Sang.
Soon, the pheasant was roasted. Da Ya carried the plate out of the kitchen and walked up to Li Rong.
"Sister, let me take the roasted pheasant over for you," Daya said.
"Okay, go and get the roasted pheasant." Gu Sang said upon hearing this.
"Sister, I'll take this pheasant over for you, you can continue roasting it," Daya said, taking the plate.
"Mm." Gu Sang nodded upon hearing this.
Gu Sang continued to take out the roasted pheasant, put it into the iron basin, and prepared to start roasting it again.
"It smells so good!" Daya exclaimed as she looked at the pheasant that Gu Sang was roasting.
"Da Ya, hurry up and bring out this rabbit meat too. Roasted rabbit meat is also very fragrant," Gu Sang said.
"Okay, I understand." Daya replied, then turned around, carrying the roasted rabbit meat, and walked into Li Rong's house.
Li Rong looked at Daya who was carrying roasted rabbit meat and said, "Daya, I'll keep this rabbit meat for you!"
“This is my life’s work, of course I can’t give it to you,” Gu Sang said, shaking her head.
"But I really want to eat it!" Li Rong said upon hearing this.
"No way, this is Da Ya's hard work, how could I possibly give it to you!" Gu Sang said upon hearing this.
"Gu Sang, I just want to eat one piece, please give it to me!" Li Rong said with a wronged expression.
"No!" Gu Sang refused Li Rong's request once again.
"Gu Sang, just give it to me!" Li Rong said, grabbing Gu Sang's sleeve.
Seeing this, Gu Sang said, "This is Da Ya's hard work. If you want to eat it, Da Ya will let you eat it. If she doesn't let you eat it, you are not allowed to eat it either."
"Why?" Li Rong asked Gu Sang with wide eyes and a bewildered expression.
“Because this is Da Ya’s hard work.” Gu Sang smiled slightly and looked at Li Rong as she spoke.
