Chapter Forty-Three: Business is Booming

Gu Sang remained calm.

"Sangsang, is there that much silver? What if these people don't give us any?"

Seven taels is more than that; it's far too much for the Li family.

If they don't receive money, then they have no choice but to put up with it.

However, Gu Sang smiled and shook her head.

"Mother, no."

Sure enough, it wasn't that Gu Sang was overconfident, but rather that the group of镖师 (bodyguards/escorts) were all stunned when they heard the price. Then, one by one, they said in disbelief, "Only seven taels? If this were any other restaurant, with such a large group of people, ordering more than ten dishes would have cost at least twenty taels!"

"Who can argue with that?"

Everyone was very surprised. They had thought the meal would cost a lot of money, but it turned out to be only seven taels.

Having thought of all this, the group looked at Li Rong.

"Young man, you can't have miscalculated, can you?"

No.

No matter what, Li Rong couldn't possibly have miscalculated this, could she?

Since the calculation was correct, everyone nodded and paid the money. Then one of the镖师 (bodyguards/couriers) said, "These dishes are really rare for us, but the taste is so delicious. You tell me, we people from all over the country will never forget this meal."

These people were all escorts, so they couldn't come over all the time, but the food at this restaurant was so delicious that they already missed it even before they left.

Upon hearing this, Li Rong merely smiled and said, "Then we'll wait until you all return to taste it."

It seems that this is the only way.

Everyone nodded, then paid the bill and left.

After everyone left, Gu Sang and Li Shi came out.

"My God... there are seven taels of silver..."

Li was really incredulous. After all, the life of the third branch of the family used to be so poor that they couldn't even get a penny, let alone seven taels. So it was normal for Li to be ignorant.

Li Rong handed the silver to Gu Sang.

"Today's earnings".

After Gu Sang took it, she smiled and bounced it around for a while before saying, "See? I told you, people can come up with solutions. Why worry so much? If you don't worry, nothing will happen."

In any case, Gu Sang wasn't worried about any of this at all.

When Li Rong saw Gu Sang's appearance, she smiled slightly and said, "You're great."

Gu Sang accepted this "we" quite naturally, and immediately chuckled, saying, "Of course."

This is a great start, and it's enough to inspire them.

After cleaning up the mess at three tables, they waited again, but it was clear that this time the plan of waiting for the wind was not going well, because no one came even as night fell.

Gu Sang didn't feel uncomfortable at all. After all, she was very clear about this kind of thing and knew that she wouldn't always be so lucky. Besides, their restaurant had only been open for one day.

When it was time to rest in the evening, Gu Sang washed away her fatigue and sat on a stool drying her hair.

She knew very well that this wasn't enough, but Gu Sang had no other choice at the moment, so she could only endure it.

Since it's just opened, we still have to take it one step at a time, otherwise things might get even worse.

On the other side, Li Rong also commented on what happened today, saying that she was quite impressed by everything. She never thought things would turn out this way, and most importantly, the plans had turned out this way, which made people even more curious.

Gu Sang, that little girl, has once again broadened Li Rong's understanding. Li Rong never expected her to be so capable.

As for being by Gu Sang's side, even though she was younger than him, to be honest, Li Rong didn't feel any bad at all.

She even thought that this was actually a good thing.

Whatever happened, since it has already happened, we should just accept it calmly. And we have to admit that staying in the third branch of the Gu family is actually a good thing for Li Rong.

At least, Li Rong will no longer go hungry.

The next few days were still bleak, with only a few customers occasionally coming and going after their meals, and there was not much turnover.

However, Gu Sang was not in a hurry at all. When she had nothing to do, she would think about how to cook for everyone in the kitchen, while Li Rong would teach Da Wa martial arts in her spare time. They seemed to be living a very comfortable life.

At first, Li was a little anxious, but later she realized that no matter how anxious she was, it was useless because no one else was in a hurry. So Li gradually calmed down and spent her days sewing and mending, and her days became quite leisurely.

If you were to pinpoint when the restaurant started to get busy, it was probably after that group of镖师 (bodyguards/couriers) came for the second time. It seemed that they were the ones who brought in more customers, and little by little, the restaurant started to get busier.

There are even people from the town who come here specifically to eat.

A month later, Gu Sang's sauerkraut was ready, and she started making sauerkraut fish. This sauerkraut fish became an instant hit as soon as it was launched.

The owner of Yipinju also came to Gu Sang's restaurant. When he saw how popular Gu Sang's restaurant was, he couldn't help but give it a thumbs up.

"I never expected your restaurant to be so popular."

Upon hearing this, Gu Sang simply smiled.

"We are grateful for the customers' appreciation. This confidence comes from everyone, which allows us to believe that we can do better. To be honest, it all depends on everyone."

Gu Sang spoke very modestly, but the shopkeeper knew that this kind of thing couldn't be explained away with just a simple word of modesty. After all, this little girl had real ability, and the shopkeeper was well aware of that.

"I've heard that your place is famous for its pickled fish, young friend. I'd like to try it today!" The shopkeeper said with a hearty laugh, revealing his cheerful and easygoing personality.

Gu Sang didn't bother with formalities with the shopkeeper, nodded, and then turned to go to the kitchen to make sauerkraut fish for him.

At this moment, Madam Li also came over and asked cautiously, "Sangsang, the manager of Yipinju is here... is he alright?"

Li is someone who is always very worried about being in danger. If something were to happen, wouldn't that cause even more concern in the future?

However, Gu Sang shook her head at this moment;

"Don't worry, Mom. The shopkeeper is a very nice person. He wouldn't have any ulterior motives. He probably just came to try our pickled fish."

Gu Sang didn't say much else, but instead comforted Li Shi.
