Jiang Yuwei was getting anxious as she searched everywhere for Ning Wan but couldn't find her. She asked several servants, but none of them had seen her. Just as Jiang Yuwei was getting worried, she saw Xiao Zuo sneaking out of a small courtyard gate. Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei quickly grabbed Xiao Zuo's arm and said urgently:
"Didn't you go out to play with Wan'er? Why did you come back alone? Where is Wan'er?"
Xiao Zuo looked up and saw Jiang Yuwei. He was immediately terrified, his face turning deathly pale. He cried out:
"Waaah, who are you? You hurt me! Waaah, I don't know any Wan'er."
Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei quickly released Xiao Zuo's arm and asked anxiously:
"Xiao Zuo, your name is Xiao Zuo, right? Do you remember the little girl in the red floral dress with two little buns who played with you just now? Where did she go?"
Xiao Zuo tilted her head, looking confused, and looked at Jiang Yuwei, crying as she spoke:
"My mother is right, you're a crazy woman! I... I didn't see any little girl you were talking about, humph!"
Just then, Chun Tao also came over. Seeing Xiao Zuo's tear-streaked face, she quickly stepped forward, picked him up, and said worriedly:
"Oh dear, young master, what's wrong? Who made you cry like this? Quickly wipe it off."
Chun Tao held Xiao Zuo in one arm and used the other hand to take a handkerchief and wipe away the tears on Xiao Zuo's face.
Xiao Zuo looked at Chun Tao with a wronged expression and said:
"Chuntao, quickly kick this person out of the manor! She just pinched my arm, and it hurt so much! Waaah, it hurts so much, my arm hurts so much!"
Jiang Yuwei frowned as she looked at the young master Chun Tao mentioned, her anxiety growing. What if something had happened to Wan'er? So, disregarding everything else, Jiang Yuwei stared intently at Xiao Zuo and spoke slowly and deliberately:
"Xiao Zuo, I don't care whose young master you are, tell me right now where Wan'er is! If anything happens to my Wan'er, I will not let you off easily!"
Xiao Zuo seemed frightened by Jiang Yuwei, and dared not look up at her eyes, only lowering her head and crying incessantly. Chun Tao, seeing this, became anxious, wiping away Xiao Zuo's tears while scolding Jiang Yuwei impatiently:
"How can you be like this? You don't even spare children. I think you have a grudge against our Sun family. You just forced our lady to kneel in the ancestral hall, and now you're making our young master cry."
As Chun Tao spoke, she kept patting Xiao Zuo's back to help him catch his breath.
"Is your little girl some kind of precious treasure? You didn't take good care of your child, and now that she's gone, you're blaming our young master? That's not fair."
Jiang Yuwei had no patience to argue with Chun Tao at this moment. The most important thing right now was to find Ning Wan as soon as possible. She was very afraid that something might have happened to Ning Wan at the Sun residence. Seeing that she couldn't get anything out of Xiao Zuo, Jiang Yuwei turned around and walked towards the courtyard where Xiao Zuo had come out.
Seeing this, Chun Tao quickly called out:
"Hey, you can't go there! How can you be so rude? Come back here!"
Jiang Yuwei ignored Chun Tao's advice and entered the courtyard without looking back. Xu Mohan, who had been following behind her, also strode into the courtyard. Seeing this, Chun Tao was afraid that they would cause trouble, so she picked up Xiao Zuo and followed.
Xiao Zuo had already stopped crying, her eyes darting around as she nervously watched Jiang Yuwei's retreating figure.
As soon as Jiang Yuwei entered the courtyard, she kept calling Ning Wan's name, but there was no response. Xu Mohan was also helping Jiang Yuwei look for someone, while Chun Tao followed behind, chattering incessantly to urge them to leave.
Just as Jiang Yuwei was standing in the doorway of a locked room, Xiao Zuo, who had been nervously fidgeting with his fingers, suddenly shouted:
"Chuntao, Chuntao, don't let them in! Make them leave!"
Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei turned around and glared fiercely at Xiao Zuo. She went up to kick the door, but the lock was too strong, and she couldn't open it after several attempts. Jiang Yuwei looked at Chun Tao and said:
"If you don't want anyone to die, you'd better bring the keys now!"
Seeing this, Chun Tao panicked and looked at Xiao Zuo in her arms, hesitatingly saying:
“This room is empty and no one lives here. Your daughter won’t go in. Besides, the door wasn’t originally locked…”
After saying this, Chun Tao seemed to realize something and quickly turned to look at Xiao Zuo in surprise.
Upon seeing this, Xiao Zuo burst into tears again.
Xu Mohan said in a cold voice:
"Let me try!"
Jiang Yuwei then noticed that Xu Mohan was also in the yard, so she quickly stepped aside. Xu Mohan stepped forward and kicked the door, causing the lock to fall to the ground with a thud.
Upon seeing this, Jiang Yuwei rushed into the house and found Ning Wan lying on the ground, unconscious. Jiang Yuwei squatted down to take a closer look and discovered that Ning Wan had a large, swollen bump on her head.
Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei quickly pinched Ning Wan's philtrum. Seeing no response, she anxiously picked Ning Wan up and said to Xu Mohan, who was standing at the door:
"Young Master Xu, please tell Master Sun that I won't be staying for dinner. I'll take Wan'er to Huichuntang for treatment first."
Xu Mohan frowned upon seeing this and said:
"Are you just going to carry her there like this?"
Jiang Yuwei nodded and prepared to run outside, but Xu Mohan scooped Ning Wan up from her arms.
"Give me the child, and come with me. I'll have my carriage take you there!"
Without waiting for Jiang Yuwei's reply, he ran out of the courtyard, and Jiang Yuwei quickly followed him out.
When the two arrived at the Sun residence, the Xu family's carriage was already waiting. Xu Mohan helped Ning Wan into the carriage, then had Jiang Yuwei get on as well, and then instructed the servant:
"Take them to Huichuntang on North Street, then come back to pick me up!"
The servant, having received his orders, hurriedly drove the carriage towards North Street. Jiang Yuwei kept calling out from inside the carriage:
"Wan'er, wake up, Mother is here, Wan'er..."
Upon arriving at Huichuntang, Jiang Yuwei quickly carried Ning Wan down from the carriage and turned to the servant, saying:
"Thank you, and please thank your young master for me."
Having said that, he entered Huichun Hall without looking back.
"Dr. Lin, come quickly, please come out and save my Wan'er!"
Hearing the shouts from the backyard, Dr. Lin rushed out and found Ning Wan unconscious. He then asked Jiang Yuwei to take Ning Wan to the backyard, place her on the bed, and began to take her pulse.
"Yes, she just fainted from a head injury. I can give her a few acupuncture treatments and she will recover."
As he spoke, Dr. Lin took out his needle kit and began to give Ning Wan acupuncture.
Jiang Yuwei looked at Ning Wan, whose face was pale with worry, and paced back and forth in the room, waiting for her to wake up.
"Mother, mother..."
Ning Wan slowly opened her eyes and saw Jiang Yuwei walking around beside her. She hurriedly and weakly called out to her.
Seeing that Ning Wan had finally woken up, Jiang Yuwei quickly stepped forward, took her hand, and said softly:
"Wan'er, don't be afraid, Mother is here. Who hurt you like this? Tell Mother quickly."
