Chapter 80 My Birthday
In today's PE class, Xia Zhen once again completed the tasks assigned by the teacher with exceptional speed, and then she was given an early break.
Xia Zhen raised her hand, "Teacher, can I go back to the classroom to read? I want to study!"
The PE teacher really liked Xia Zhen. It was rare for a girl to participate so enthusiastically in every running training he assigned. The key was that she was good at sports, loved to study, and was said to be from a wealthy family, but she didn't have any of that arrogant attitude.
So the PE teacher readily nodded, "Go ahead."
Xia Zhen said thank you and ran into the classroom.
The class representative for Chinese also raised her hand, "Teacher, I want to learn too..."
Her mouth was covered, and her raised hand was pulled down.
The class representative for Chinese glared at him.
The math class representative said anxiously, "No, you can't leave me to study. The physical education exam is coming up soon, and you still need to supervise my physical training!"
If his physical education score is not up to standard, he will have to be given special attention by the physical education teacher before the physical education exam!
The class representative for Chinese rolled her eyes in an unseemly manner.
Gao Ling was doing stretching exercises under a tree. She had just run 800 meters and needed to stretch her body when a few leaves suddenly fell from above her head.
Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of Gao Ling.
Lu Wang hung upside down from the tree, her long hair hanging down, her arms crossed, and her eyes met Gao Ling's eyes.
Gao Ling: "..."
Lu Wang said confidently, "I heard you signed up for the 1000-meter race at the sports meet, so I signed up for the 1000-meter race too."
Gao Ling didn't respond.
Lu Wang smiled arrogantly, "Hey, you expressionless face, let's make a bet."
Gao Ling asked, "What do you want to bet on?"
"If you win, you can make one request: if I win, you must respectfully call me Your Majesty whenever you see me in the future."
Gao Ling calmly replied, "Okay."
"Hmph, just you wait and see, you'll be calling me Your Majesty."
The PE teacher suddenly shouted, "Who's that! Get down from that tree right now!"
Lü Wang nimbly climbed down the tree and ran far away before the PE teacher could catch up.
Meanwhile, Xia Zhen ran into the classroom.
As soon as she arrived at the classroom door, she saw the white-haired boy slumped over the desk, his eyes closed, his head resting on his arm, seemingly asleep.
But there was still a slight tension between his handsome eyebrows and eyes.
His location was in a corner where even light could not reach.
Xia Zhen felt a strange pang of sadness in her heart. She took light steps and carefully walked over, then bent down and quietly stared at his fair and jade-like profile.
I want to kiss him.
Suddenly, this sentence popped into her mind.
But she didn't want to disturb his rest.
Xia Zhen, who had been close, moved slightly away, and the next second, someone grabbed her hand.
The boy's brows relaxed, and he clearly gripped her hand tightly, but he still didn't open his eyes.
Xia Zhen smiled, pursed her lips, lowered her head, and placed a gentle kiss on the corner of his eye, whispering, "Sleeping Beauty should wake up."
Sure enough, he opened his eyes.
Those light-colored eyes seemed to hold scattered stars, with tiny sparkles within them, concealing a joy unique to him upon seeing her.
"Zhenzhen." He straightened up to look at her and asked, "Why are you back so early today?"
The boy's voice still carried a hint of languid weariness, and his eyes were somewhat sleepy—a rare sight indeed.
Xia Zhen's heart melted instantly. She sat down and leaned closer to him, saying, "Because I behaved very well, the teacher agreed to let me go back to the classroom early!"
She said with a hint of pride, "See? Aren't I smart?"
"Yes, you're very smart." He took her hand and placed it on the side of her face where she had been staring at him. His eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze gentle and focused. "I've been thinking about you the whole time."
So her return time was perfect.
Xia Zhen felt her heart pounding like a deer's, and she gave up resisting, throwing herself into his arms.
Why is he so charming!
Xia Zhen rubbed her face against his chest, raised her curved eyes, and stared at him without blinking, "Lu Jin."
"Mmm." He responded, gently tucking a strand of her long ponytail with one hand. The black hair twirled between his overly pale and clean fingers, and the black and white colors were surprisingly harmonious.
September 25th.
She mentioned a date out of the blue, which seemed odd.
Xia Zhen leaned closer to him and quietly added, "It's my birthday."
His fingers, which were twirling a strand of her hair, paused, and then his Adam's apple bobbed inexplicably; his mouth felt dry.
Xia Zhen's eyes were bright, and her gaze was so intense that it could practically set one's soul ablaze.
She uttered the most suggestive words with an innocent look; she was hardly a fairy, but rather a little devil.
Lu Jin covered her eyes with her slightly trembling hand.
Xia Zhen tilted her head in confusion.
Of course, she didn't see the intense, almost frantic, affection surging in the boy's eyes, an affection that seemed to want to devour her completely.
Lu Jin told himself that he couldn't let her see him like this.
In her eyes, he should be the most harmless person.
To make the girl behave, Lu Jin forced her to do several math problems that he hated the most.
Xia Zhen grumbled discontentedly, "So unromantic."
He pretended not to hear and said, "Zhenzhen, you need to write your characters better."
"Oh." Xia Zhen responded listlessly. She was hunched over writing equations on her notebook when a pair of hands straightened her waist and back.
"Poor posture can affect eyesight."
Xia Zhen pursed her lips, thinking to herself, "I wonder if this guy wants to be her boyfriend or her second father."
Her throat was a little dry, so she cleared it, and a pink thermos with the lid already opened was brought to her lips.
Xia Zhen kept her head down looking at the questions. She took a sip of water from the cup he handed her, but then stopped drinking, and he took the cup away.
He gently wiped away the water droplets from the corner of her lips with his fingertips. She was used to it and didn't react much. Instead, she took the problem seriously, which she couldn't solve no matter how hard she tried.
The math class representative, who was squatting by the classroom door, whispered, "How come I never noticed before that Lu Jin was interested in being a babysitter?"
The class representative for Chinese, who was also squatting down, said disdainfully, "What do you know? That's just romance, that's how an old married couple gets along—"
The class representative for Chinese covered her face, exclaiming, "It's super sweet too!"
What's so sweet about it?
The math class representative thought indignantly, "Isn't she afraid of getting diabetes?!"
