Chapter 15 You Are a Snow Fairy

Chapter 15 You Are a Snow Fairy

Upon seeing Xia Zhen return, Aunt Fang hurriedly asked, "Why are you back so late, Miss?"

Before Xia Zhen could answer, Aunt Fang exclaimed in surprise, "Miss is injured!"

Xia Zhen waved her hand, "It's okay, it'll be fine soon."

Aunt Fang was the person who took care of Xia Zhen the longest, and Xia Zhen was used to eating her cooking, so this time Xia Yu specially asked Aunt Fang to come and stay with Xia Zhen outside.

Xia Zhen was hungry. She sat at the dining table, took a sip of soup, and told him about what happened on her way home from school.

Aunt Fang felt a chill run down her spine upon hearing this. "Miss, please forgive me for being nosy, but you ran out so impulsively. This time it's just a scratch, but what if something had happened... it would be too late to regret it then!"

"Okay, I understand." Xia Zhen took a bite of a rib and said, "Aunt Fang, I want to eat your pan-fried dumplings. I want to bring your pan-fried dumplings to school tomorrow."

Aunt Fang was delighted to see that Xia Zhen loved her cooking. "Okay, I'll make more so that Miss can eat her fill."

Xia Zhen ate a delicious dinner, and after washing up, she returned to her room, lay on the bed in her nightgown, and opened the small app with the pink icon.

To her surprise, a small lamp suddenly appeared in the room where the little boy was staying.

The light wasn't strong; it was quite dim. But compared to before, it was still a pleasant surprise.

She finally saw the boy's face.

He looked up at the lamp, his face as flawless as white jade, his eyes reflecting the light as if they were shining brightly.

The soft, yellow light seemed to add a touch of gentleness to him.

Another star-shaped candy has appeared in the glass bottle in the upper right corner of the screen, but unlike the previous white star-shaped candy, this one is a bright gold color.

Xia Zhen sat up in bed and stared at the golden star-shaped candy for a long time.

Golden star candies seem to be rarer than white star candies, which she only gets when she helps others. The former appears because she has helped someone, but the difference is that she saved a little boy's life today.

Xia Zhen suddenly realized that the different levels of good deeds she did resulted in different amounts of star candy. This golden star candy might have some unexpected effects.

She couldn't wait to feed the candy to the little boy.

But after waiting for a long time, she didn't notice any changes in the boy. Instead, a dialog box suddenly popped up on her phone screen.

Congratulations on receiving a time capsule! Using it will bring a little surprise!

At the same time, a platinum capsule appeared in the center of the screen, flashing continuously, practically blatantly implying to the person outside the screen: Hurry up and open me!

Xia Zhen touched her chin, hesitated for only a moment, and then reached out and tapped the time capsule.

The next instant, everything went black before her eyes, followed by a chill.

Xia Zhen held a cell phone in her hand, wearing pajamas and barefoot on the ground. She stood at a crossroads with her hair disheveled, completely bewildered.

Vehicles coming and going kept honking their horns.

She snapped out of her daze and belatedly left the spot, running into the street. The wind made her very cold, and she hugged her smooth arms and sneezed.

"Mom, look, that lady is wearing a skirt even in winter!"

"Alright, this is none of your business."

A young mother quickly pulled her child away from the commotion, while casting a subtle glance at Xia Zhen.

Yes, everyone else is wearing cotton-padded coats, but she's still wearing a slip dress and standing on the street without even shoes. This girl is quite pretty, but could she be mentally unstable?

Xia Zhen was embarrassed. She looked at her toes, which were red from the cold, and wondered if she was dreaming. But if it was a dream, how could she feel so cold?

"Mom, I want to eat cake!"

The boy's voice caught Xia Zhen's attention.

It was a cute little boy, only six or seven years old. He was holding his mother's hand, probably spoiled by his family, and insisted on pulling his reluctant mother into the cake shop.

The young mother said gently, "Xiao Ci, we'll go home and have dinner soon. We'll come back another day to buy a cake."

"No, I want it!" The boy pouted, on the verge of tears.

A look of helplessness crossed the woman's face, but it ultimately turned into indulgence. She nodded, "Okay."

Then she said to another boy behind her, "You wait for us here."

The next second, the woman led the noisy boy into the cake shop, leaving a boy in a school uniform standing at the door.

He was a boy with a full head of white hair. Because of his unusual appearance, people passing by couldn't help but stare at him. He was holding the shoulder straps of his schoolbag with both hands, and staring at the tips of his shoes with his head half down.

People who initially thought this child was unusual will suddenly have a different feeling: this child is really too well-behaved.

He was only about seven or eight years old, not much older than the child who had been clamoring for cake. But he was probably used to spending his time alone, not moving at all, and didn't seem to find any fun in staring at the tips of his shoes.

Suddenly, a pair of bare feet of a girl appeared in my line of sight. Her ten round and cute toes were red from the cold, making her look pitiful.

He blinked and slowly raised his eyes.

The girl in the skirt flashed a bright smile in the cold wind, "Hello, Lu Jin."

His gaze paused slightly. "Why do you know my name?"

"Of course, it's because I'm a fairy!"

He looked away, too lazy to look at her.

Xia Zhen bent down, tilting her head to look at his face. "Don't you believe me? I really am a fairy. If I weren't a fairy, how would I know that you also really want to eat cake?"

He looked at her again, and before he could even open his mouth, she preemptively said, "You're going to say you don't want to eat, aren't you?"

He fell silent after someone else had spoken his words first.

Xia Zhen smiled, "That's why I say I'm a fairy. If I weren't a fairy, how could I possibly know what you're trying to say?"

Xiao Lu pursed her lips tightly.

In the shop window, the boy finally picked out a few things he wanted to eat, but his mother didn't take him out immediately. Instead, she made him sit on a stool and slowly finish eating.

He knew that any good food at home belonged to Lu Ci. His parents would often prepare a lot of delicious food for Lu Ci behind his back, and only the leftovers from Lu Ci's meal would be his.

He actually knew all these things, but the adults always thought he was too young to understand.

"Wait for me here."

Xia Zhen left behind these words and entered the cake shop. Because of her inappropriate attire, she attracted everyone's attention as soon as she entered. She didn't care, but instead glanced at what Lu Ci was eating and ordered one of each item.

Fortunately, mobile payment existed ten years ago. She picked up her things and left the cake shop, grabbed the hand of the boy who was still waiting at the door, and led him to a sheltered alley not far away.

She knelt down and laid out all the boxes: egg tarts, strawberry mousse, mango mille-feuille, and a piece of Black Forest cake. Then she asked, "Which one would you like to eat first?"

Lu Jin gripped his backpack strap tighter and tighter. No matter how mature he seemed, he was still just an eight-year-old child. Faced with the girl's kindness, he was unaccustomed to dealing with such things and appeared quite reserved and at a loss.

"I...I can't eat that much."

"It's okay, we won't give any to others even if we can't eat much!" Xia Zhen put a piece of egg tart directly into his hand.

Seeing that he still didn't move, she whispered, "If your brother sees this, he'll definitely try to take it from me."

Upon hearing this, Lu Jin slowly took a small bite.

He had heard his classmates talk about what egg tarts tasted like, but he had never tasted them before. This was his first time, and this novel taste did not make him take his eyes off the girl's face.

Xia Zhen reached out and gently wiped the crumbs from the corner of his mouth, smiling as she asked, "Was it good?"

He nodded gently, and then, as his light-colored eyes gazed at her, he asked softly, "Are you really a fairy?"

"Of course I'm a fairy!"

Xiao Lu Jin's eyelashes fluttered slightly as she cautiously asked, "Then can you make my hair black?"

Xia Zhen asked, "Why?"

"They said I was like a monster."

She suddenly felt a tightness in her chest, but soon, Xia Zhen laughed again. She stood up and patted his head, "You're not a monster, you're a snow sprite."
