Chapter 190 There is light in the eyes

While Lin Laosan was busy, Lin Li was not idle either.

She gathered Xu Ting, Xu Yue, Xiao Wang, and Chen Dashan together to organize two planning meetings.

The next day, very early in the morning.

Lin Li then walked into the temporary office she had rented near Chongwenmen.

She sat down in a chair in the conference room.

She took out a notebook from the canvas bag she was carrying and spread it out on the table, unscrewing the cap of her pen.

"Is everyone here?"

She glanced up and swept her gaze across the four people sitting on either side of the conference room, her eyes lingering on Xu Ting's nose, which was red from the cold.

"Xiao Xu, let me see your sales ledger."

Xu Ting quickly pulled a leather notebook out of her canvas bag, her finger pausing on the page about "snowflake wool coat".

Last winter, when this batch of goods was transported from Shanghai, it was delayed for half a month on the road, and we almost missed the peak season in December.

Lin Li turned to the last page of the profit and loss statement and drew a thick line under "gross profit margin 18%" with her pencil.

"Let's bring in denim clothing from Guangzhou after spring. I remember the garment factories there can give us a 45-day payment period."

Xu Ting nodded and wrote down the requirements in her notebook.

"Boss, the most popular whitening powder among female students right now is Xiafei," Xu Yue said, pulling out a statistical sheet printed with carbon paper.

"But the Wangfujing Department Store counters are always out of stock. If we could get the agency rights..."

"You handle the agency negotiations."

Lin Li interrupted her and wrote "Cosmetics Section: Street-facing Window" in her notebook with her pen.

"There's a daily chemical products trade fair going on in Haishi next month, why don't you go and attend?"

Xu Yue was stunned when she heard Lin Li's words.

Then, panic appeared on his face.

"Boss, I can't..."

Before she could finish speaking, Lin Li interrupted her.

"Don't be afraid. If anything happens, I'll be there to support you. Go for it."

Upon hearing this, Xu Yue's panic vanished instantly.

A dazzling light began to shine in her eyes.

"Okay, boss!"

Seeing the confident smile on her face, Lin Li's lips also curled up slightly.

"Remember to make a list of the fragrances your students like. Remember to differentiate by age group; the preferences of seventeen- or eighteen-year-old girls are different from those of married women."

"knew!"

Xu Yue quickly wrote down the requirements.

At this moment, Xiao Wang rubbed his frozen hands and came over. The city map in his hand had been folded into a piece of dried pickled vegetable.

“Boss, I’ve looked at three plots of land,” he said, pointing to the locations circled in red on the map. “There’s a closed-down food factory in Xisi, occupying 1.8 acres, but the factory buildings are too old; and there’s that vacant lot in Dongdan, close to the subway station, but the price…”

Price is not an issue.

Lin Li pushed the map towards the center and tapped the Dongdan location with her fingernail.

"Go check the ownership of this land. If there are no problems, go to the construction committee next week to complete the relevant procedures. Remember to ask clearly whether it is allowed to build a three-story building, and to make all three floors into shops, arranged by category."

Xiao Wang: ……

The boss has delegated authority over such a large project?

Seeing the incredulous look on Xiao Wang's face, Lin Li smiled and continued.

"Department stores in the port city are all laid out like this. Customers browse from the first floor to the third floor and unknowingly buy a lot of things."

Chen Dashan sat at his desk, drawing something in his notebook with a pen.

“Boss, if we’re building a three-story building, the foundation has to be two meters deep,” he looked up. “I’ve calculated that we’ll need twelve tons of steel bars alone. The building materials market is strictly regulated now, so we need to get approval from the planning commission in advance.”

Lin Li took out a red silk bag from her bag, and when she untied it, a stack of brand-new fixed-amount deposit certificates was revealed.

Sunlight streamed through the newspaper-covered windows, casting rectangular patches of light on each deposit slip.

She divided the deposit slip into four parts and pushed them in front of everyone. "Xiao Xu, take this money to Guangzhou to buy goods. Xu Yue, keep it as start-up capital for your cosmetics business. Xiao Wang, go and handle the land acquisition procedures. Da Shan, you go and contact the construction team first."

The wind outside suddenly picked up and made the paper windows rattle loudly.

Xu Ting counted the numbers on the deposit slip, her heart skipping a beat.

"Boss," Xu Yue suddenly spoke, her voice trembling slightly, "what if we lose money..."

"I'll take responsibility if we lose money."

Lin Li capped the pen, stood up, and smiled at them.

"Don't worry, I'm here!"

One sentence made the eyes of the four people present shine with countless rays of confidence.

"Also, when you have time, take turns going to the port city to see how the department store was built and how it was decorated. The expenses for going there will be counted as business trip expenses."

The four of them exchanged a glance, and the smiles on their lips remained unsuppressed.

She walked to the window and looked at the scenery outside the glass.

“Look, the grocery store across the street has a line that stretches all the way to the alley entrance every day. When people have money, they want to use good things, so our department stores must provide them with the best and most comprehensive selection.”

"Boss, could you reserve a space in the mall to sell home appliances?"

He scratched his head. "I see that a lot of families in the courtyards of Beijing want to replace their TVs."

Lin Li's eyes lit up, and she turned to look at him and said.

"Sure! You can contact them yourselves. As long as the price is reasonable, you can negotiate the agency rights."

"yes!"

The four of them lowered their heads again and wrote it down.

“It’s settled then,” she said, walking back to the conference table and closing her notebook. “We’ll split up next week and meet here after the Lantern Festival to work out the detailed plan.”
