Chapter 236 What About Marriage

He turned to Coach Li again:

"Student Qin Ying is not feeling well today. She performed while sick and needs to rest now."

Wei Zhuolan's voice was gentle but carried unquestionable strength.

He reached out to support Qin Ying, but she dodged him without leaving a trace.

Her silent resistance made his eyes dim, but he still smiled and stood in front of her, separating her from the enthusiastic classmates:

"Go and rest for a while."

Gu Pingan stood not far away, staring at Qin Ying's receding figure, and suddenly sneered softly:

"National Conservatory of Music...how could it be such a coincidence?"

The ceiling light in the auditorium cast a shadow on the brim of Fu Hanzhou's military hat, and his gaze fixed on the side curtain almost burned through it.

As Qin Ying bowed, his knuckles tapped against his knees unconsciously, until he saw Wei Zhuolan walking towards her through the crowd, and the rhythm of the tapping suddenly became disordered.

"My sister-in-law is in big trouble!"

Tan Jiahe nudged him with his elbow, his eyes narrowed into slits under his military cap.

"This violin playing is so good that even the veterans in the art troupe would give it a thumbs up!"

Zhao Yu followed Fu Hanzhou's tense gaze and suddenly chuckled:

"The captain's neck is almost stretched like a goose."

He pushed his military cap and said jokingly:

"Fu Tuan is in Cao's camp but his heart is with Han. He is even more anxious than us bachelors."

Fu Hanzhou's Adam's apple rolled heavily, and the tea in the enamel pot became cold again.

He listened to the praises coming from all around him, such as "campus idol" and "light of the medical school", but all these compliments became the sound of Wei Zhuolan's clothes rubbing against each other as he approached Qin Ying.

Watching their figures disappear around the corner backstage, he stood up suddenly, and the chair made a harsh sound as it rubbed against the ground.

"I'm going to get some fresh air."

He left his seat and walked out with a gust of wind after saying this nonsense.

As if possessed by some mysterious force, Fu Hanzhou quickly went backstage.

At the end of the backstage corridor, Wei Zhuolan took Qin Ying into an empty corner. His hot palm suddenly clasped Qin Ying's wrist tightly, and his scorching body temperature penetrated the fabric, making her shiver.

"You hid it too well!"

In the shadow of the corner, Qin Ying was pushed against the moss-covered brick wall before she could react.

The desire surging in the man's eyes almost swallowed her up, and his breath sprayed hotly into her ears:

"You know what? The way you stood on the stage just now was like a beam of light..."

"Teacher Wei! Please respect yourself!"

Qin Ying struggled and pushed, her back hurting. Thinking of her brother's disgusting violation just now, the suffocating feeling of being imprisoned made her eyes red:

"Let me go!"

Instead of letting go, Wei Zhuolan hugged her even tighter, with his nose almost touching hers:

"Don't move, listen to me...

Qin Ying turned her head away suddenly, her voice filled with tears:

"I'm already married, please stop bothering me."

"So what if I get married?"

Wei Zhuolan forcefully pinched Qin Ying's chin and turned her head over, his eyes full of crazy paranoia:

"I can give you everything that Fu Hanzhou can't give you. As long as you nod, tomorrow you can..."

At this point, his arms tightened unconsciously:

"Fu Hanzhou doesn't even have the ability to protect you. If you stay with him, you will only be in danger again and again."

He paused, and softened his voice:

"What happened before the performance... If I had been a step later..."

Qin Ying frowned slightly and was about to open her mouth to refute, but she heard Wei Zhuolan continue:

"But I'm different."

"Qin Ying, you won't regret what I'm going to say today..."

"Wei Zhuolan, let me go!"

Qin Ying struggled desperately, but her body was held tightly by Wei Zhuolan.

Someone may come here at any time. Is he crazy?

Wei Zhuolan ignored her resistance and held her waist tightly, making her unable to move:

"The school specially approved a place for an overseas exchange program, and you were the first person I thought of. You're the top scorer in the college entrance exam, and you shouldn't be stuck in this ordinary medical school."

Wei Zhuolan let her go and pulled out a gold-stamped envelope from his trouser pocket, waving it before her eyes. The imported coated paper, a rarity in the 1980s, shone with a cold luster.

"There's only one in the entire school. Because of it, I promised my father I'd leave medical school in six months, and then he came forward to ask for it."

At the corner, Fu Hanzhou clenched his fists tightly, tiny beads of blood seeped out from between his fingers, and veins on his face bulged.

Qin Ying was nowhere to be found in the backstage rooms. He walked forward in the corridor as if on a hunch. Just as he reached the end, he heard Wei Zhuolan's deep voice coming from the corner:

"The performance you just gave was so good that even the head of the military art troupe would have applauded."

He didn't show up, but just stood at the corner listening, feeling so heartbroken that he couldn't breathe.

He saw with his own eyes Wei Zhuolan pushing Qin Ying into a corner, saw the undisguised possessiveness in the man's eyes, saw Wei Zhuolan's fingertips brush Qin Ying's cheek, saw her shrinking in fear, and the anger in his chest almost swallowed him up.

I also heard him say: Let Qin Ying leave him!

The stinging pain in the palm of his hand was far less shocking than the scene before him—Qin Ying's slightly raised neck, Wei Zhuolan's almost predatory posture, and her fingertips that were reluctant but also welcoming.

Qin Ying's eyelashes trembled violently, and her eyes were full of struggle.

She had wanted to go abroad before she transmigrated into the book, but she never had the chance.

She had longed to study abroad countless times; now, looking at the invitation letter that seemed to have a golden glow, her unfulfilled ideals and the complex emotions of the present world collided violently in her heart.

She reached out her hand as if possessed, but the moment she touched the envelope, she suddenly pulled it back.
