Chapter 280 Follow the Rules

No wonder he spent the rest of his time, apart from eating and sleeping, trying hard to study this book.

I just want to find a legitimate reason to shut those people up.

There were footsteps outside the door. Just as she was about to get up to check, she saw Fu Hanzhou raised his hand to stop her.

After he left the ward, she looked through the crack in the door and saw Fu Hanzhou talking in a low voice with a middle-aged man in military uniform.

By the light of the corridor, she recognized the man as Fu Qixun's adjutant.

The two men had serious expressions and looked towards the ward from time to time.

The next morning, Qin Ying met Fu Hanting in the corridor.

Her eyes were red, and she hesitated to speak:

"Sister-in-law, Dad said he's going to hold an emergency meeting today... to discuss something about you."

She held Qin Ying's hand:

"Don't worry, my brother and dad will definitely protect you."

Not long after, the military compound suddenly became busy.

Qin Ying stood in front of the window of the ward, watching the military vehicles passing by.

The military doctor in a neat uniform left in a hurry.

The autumn wind picked up the fallen leaves on the ground and swirled them in the air, as if foreshadowing what was about to happen.

The atmosphere in the military district conference room was surprisingly low. Officers took their seats one after another, and the atmosphere was solemn.

The controversy caused by Qin Ying's surgical technique was put on the conference table.

Fu Qixun sat in the main seat and slammed the table so hard that the teacup jumped three inches high. The fluorescent light above his head was shaken slightly, making a "sizzling" sound of electricity.

"I heard someone's trying to exploit this? To question Comrade Xiao Qin's skills? His father is a martyr who saved my life! He braved the hail of bullets on the battlefield and carried me out. Now his daughter is using a scalpel to rescue a man from the clutches of the dead—this is the revolutionary instinct etched in their bones!"

Suddenly, there was a soft sound of a folder falling from the back row of the conference room.

Fu Qixun's voice stopped abruptly, his back straightened instantly, his eyes pierced Gu Zhenhua like a knife, the corners of his mouth curled down imperceptibly, then he picked up the enamel cup on the table, tilted his head back and drank the cold tea in one gulp, his Adam's apple rolling violently.

He slammed the enamel pot down on the table, causing the documents to rattle. He leaned forward with both hands on the table, his eyes sweeping across the room like a hawk:

"On the battlefield, bullets don't care about precedents!"

After a half-second pause, he suddenly pointed his right hand at a distant officer and jabbed his index finger in the air.

"She was able to pull Han Zhou back from the brink of death, which is a great achievement!"

He straightened up, slowly glanced at the crowd, and finally fixed his sight on Gu Zhenhua. He sneered, took out a cigarette box from his pocket and slammed it on the table:

"If anyone dares to suspect the orphan of a meritorious official today, no one will dare to fight on the front lines tomorrow. I, Fu Qixun, will be solely responsible for her actions! Anyone with opinions, please speak up!"
