I promised her in the ward three days ago.
She was still thinking about it.

The morning light breaks into gold foil in the entangled shadows, turning the sweetness before parting into a hot brew.
She heard the sound of clothes rubbing against each other behind her ears, and her heartbeat almost burst through her chest.

Her fingers gripping his collar trembled, but when she met his burning gaze, she swallowed the rest of her words into a deeper kiss.
