After an unknown amount of time, the rapid breathing gradually slowed down.
Fu Hanzhou rested his forehead against hers, his fingertips brushed the corners of her red lips, and he laughed softly with his Adam's apple rolling:
"If the situation continues, we won't be able to watch movies or go to the park. I don't think we'll even be able to have breakfast."
Qin Ying was shocked to find that the two men were disheveled. She pushed him away and sat up, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at him:
"It's not you!"
The sound of Fu Hanting running down the stairs came from the corridor, instantly dispelling the ambiguous warmth.
Fu Hanzhou quickly got out of bed, grabbed his military jacket and put it on, then turned around and raised an eyebrow at her:
"Auntie Wu has already prepared the meal. It will be cold soon!"
Qin Ying tidied her hair randomly. Her heartbeat had not yet calmed down, but she couldn't help laughing out loud - in the last moments, even the farewell had to be filled with the atmosphere of fireworks.
The October morning breeze was chilly, and Fu Hanzhou had already buttoned up his military uniform tightly.
He turned around and saw Qin Ying putting on a navy blue knitted cardigan, revealing the collar of her white dacron shirt underneath - that was her most common inner layer, which made her skin look even whiter.
"If you dawdle any longer, Aunt Wu will start nagging me."
He reached out to tuck her fallen hair behind her ear, his fingertips brushing across her red earlobe.
On the dining table was the sweet potato millet porridge and freshly steamed brown sugar buns cooked by Wu Ma. Fu Hanzhou put the fried egg into her bowl:
"Eat more and don't complain about being cold while walking in the park this afternoon."
Qin Ying bit her steamed bun and watched him gently stir the hot porridge with a spoon. Suddenly, she remembered that this man should be giving a lecture at the training ground at this moment, instead of accompanying her to the movies and carefully trying to make her happy like he was doing now.
The light in the cinema was dim. When the screen lit up, Qin Ying quietly moved towards Fu Hanzhou.
He naturally put his arm around her shoulders, the warmth of his palm coming through the fabric.
Amidst the gasps from the surroundings, the kissing scene between the hero and heroine flashed by on the screen, and she heard a deep laugh from his chest:
"Is this the first movie you mentioned with a kissing scene?"
Qin Ying's cheeks flushed, and she reached out to pinch the soft flesh on his waist, but he held her wrist and gently stroked her palm with his fingertips.
When I came out of the cinema, the sun was shining brightly and the plane trees in People's Park were covered with golden leaves.
Fu Hanzhou bought some roasted sweet potatoes, and when he broke them open, steam rose from them:
"Try it, it's far inferior to what Wu Ma bakes."
Qin Ying took a bite of the sweet potato, looked at the cruise ship on the lake, and suddenly said:
"Does the love in movies have to be grand and passionate to be unforgettable?"
He put her red, frozen hand into his pocket and whispered:
"For us, it's just a matter of keeping it steady and long-lasting."
The wind blew up the fallen leaves all over the ground. She looked at his profile and her eyes suddenly felt sore - but she didn't even have the qualifications for a "long-term relationship".
She leaned her head on his shoulder, and the unspoken "goodbye" mixed with the sound of the wind and gently landed on the epaulettes of his military uniform.
Fu Hanzhou thought she was still moved by the plot of the movie, so he put his arm around her waist and swung her:
"If I had known that Love in Lushan was so important, I would have dragged you away from Wei Zhuolan to watch it together."
Qin Ying chuckled:
"Now that you've made up for it, how are you going to thank me?"
He suddenly leaned over and whispered in her ear:
"Thank you when you get home—a more passionate kiss than in the movies."
She hit him with a red face, but when he turned around, the smile gradually froze at the corner of her mouth.
After the excitement, it is farewell forever.
As dusk dyed the sky a rusty red, Fu Hanzhou held Qin Ying's hand and walked through the sycamore path in the military compound.
The hustle and bustle of the day still lingered in the courtyard, but now the only sound was the sound of them crushing fallen leaves.
Qin Ying looked up at the tips of his hair sticking out from under his military cap and suddenly stopped:
"You said, if one day I have to leave..."
"That day will never come."
Fu Hanzhou suddenly pushed her against the tree trunk and wrapped them both with his military coat.
His breath swept across the corners of her red eyes:
"I warned you last time in the ward not to say 'if' again. Do you still dare to mention it now?"
Qin Ying's fingertips trembled as she stroked his eyebrows, her eyes filled with deep affection:
"But the ending of the book... Gu Ping'an's hatred, and your lonely end, do you like this ending?"
Her voice choked:
"I don't belong here, Fu Hanzhou!"
The words pierced the air like a bullet.
Fu Hanzhou's pupils suddenly contracted, and his Adam's apple rolled as he swallowed all the questions.
He suddenly kissed her roughly, with a punishing force, and did not let go until Qin Ying tasted blood.
"Try saying that again?"
He rested his forehead against hers, and said in a horribly hoarse voice:
"How dare you say you're leaving?"
The night wind blew up Qin Ying's scattered hair and entangled it on Fu Hanzhou's military uniform.
She stood on tiptoe and kissed him back, her tongue grazing over the wound at the corner of his mouth, crushing all the unspoken farewells in her hot breath.
Fu Hanzhou growled, picked her up sideways and walked home, his military boots crushing the moonlight on the ground.
The moonlight is like a veil, gently shining into the house through the mottled window lattices, covering this small world with a hazy silver glow.
Fu Hanzhou's military coat was casually draped over the back of the chair, casting a huge and deep shadow in the moonlight, like a giant beast, silently guarding the two people in the room.
Qin Ying leaned her back against the cold wall and looked up at the man in front of her who made her heart beat and hurt.
Fu Hanzhou's military cap had long disappeared, revealing his resolute brows and eyes. At this moment, there was a blazing flame burning in his eyes, as if he wanted to devour her whole.
His rapid breathing sprayed on her face, with a hint of heat, mixed with a hint of gunpowder and the unique scent of men, making Qin Ying's heart beat faster involuntarily.
"Don't talk about leaving again."
His voice was low and hoarse, with an unquestionable arrogance, as if it was squeezed out from deep in his chest.
His palm tightly clasped Qin Ying's wrist, with such force that it seemed as if he wanted to crush her bones, and as if he was afraid that she would really disappear before his eyes.
Qin Ying bit her lip, and a layer of crystal mist appeared in her eyes.
She reached out and touched Fu Hanzhou's angular face, her fingertips gently stroking the unshaved stubble on his chin, feeling the rough touch.
"Fu Hanzhou, some things are destined from the beginning..."
Her voice was choked with sobs, and her words were full of helplessness and sadness.
However, before she could finish her words, she was rudely interrupted by Fu Hanzhou.
He suddenly lowered his head and kissed her lips fiercely, as if to block out all her words of rejection.
The kiss was passionate and wild, filled with deep attachment and uneasiness.
His tongue forcefully pried open her teeth, wantonly plundering every inch of sweetness in her mouth, as if he wanted to merge her entire being into his own body.
Qin Ying was stunned at first, then she closed her eyes, tears rolling down her cheeks.
She reached out and hugged Fu Hanzhou's neck tightly, responding to this possessive kiss.
She knew that this might be their last time together, so she wanted to deeply engrave the warmth and love of this moment in her memory.
