Chapter 176 Dependency Mania

Chapter 176 Dependency Mania

"Luo Huayi".

The woman's voice, so close to his ear, made him instinctively move even closer to her.

"...Hmm?" Luo Huayi closed his eyes. He couldn't see anything else and didn't want to see anything else. All he could think about was the joy of not being rejected and pushed away.

Xin Que, unusually, did not lash out, but simply patted the arm that was wrapped around his neck, "Open your eyes and see where you are."

Luo Huayi nuzzled Xin Que's hair, reluctantly opening her eyes, "We're not at the villa..."

He slowly raised his head and looked around, but he still couldn't bear to let go.

“Not a villa…” he said, somewhat bewildered. “The Luo family home? Or the space I copied? No…”

"This is... the real Luo family old house?" Luo Huayi asked in disbelief.

Luo Huayi glanced at the thick layer of dust on the floor next to the vase, and then saw the flowers and plants outside the window that had been neglected for many years. The famous flowers had long since withered, leaving only overgrown weeds.

The room where the two were located was not even electrified, and all that could be seen was the hazy darkness of night.

The dilapidated details of the room reminded him that this was indeed the old Luo family residence.

"What were you thinking just now?" Xin Que asked, looking up at him. "You actually let the map send the two of us here."

Luo Huayi lowered her head and buried her face in Xin Que's neck, suddenly tightening her arms around her, her voice low and muffled, "It's nothing."

He couldn't tell Xin Que that all he could think about was how to avoid being seen by others and find a completely safe corner where the two of them could be alone together...

Luo Huayi's mind was in turmoil.

Why are these outrageous map services getting more and more ridiculous? From tools to weather, they're inexplicably dragging people to such unlucky places...

Oh no, will Xin Que think he deliberately lured her here?

“I didn’t know it would turn out like this,” Luo Huayi tried to explain, “I just wanted to… spend some time with you without any distractions…”

The man's voice grew increasingly weak.

The more I explain, the more bizarre it gets.

Unexpectedly, he did not detect the killing intent that Xin Que had previously revealed.

Luo Huayi slowly raised his head and saw that Xin Que was looking at everything except him.

"We all underestimated your protagonist aura." Xin Que's voice was chillingly rational.

"In the previous storylines, all I saw was that you, as the protagonist, had the ability to reset and revive infinitely, and automatically become the focus of attention."

"I never expected... that the protagonist's fully unlocked abilities would allow him to move between areas that are normally only possible for administrators..."

Luo Huayi didn't know whether she should feel happy or bittersweet.

Xin Que only saw the so-called halo and couldn't analyze any additional value from it; he had no trace of him at all.

He stared blankly at her features, which were within reach.

Even though they were so close, her actions constantly reminded him that no matter how close he got to her, there was always a chasm that Xin Que had personally created between them.

Unreachable.

"Xin Que, you can do whatever you want to research after we get out..." After being ignored, Luo Huayi felt a surge of bitter and indescribable pain in his heart. His rationality gradually waned, and he raised his hands to cup her face, trying to draw her attention to him.

"Could you please focus your attention solely on me right now?"

As soon as Xin Que looked away, she met Luo Huayi's reddened eyes.

Luo Huayi hoped to see Xin Que's emotional response.

Whether it's anger or disdain for his offense, whether it's positive or negative, he needs emotional feedback to prove that at least some of the woman's emotions can be swayed by him.

It can be any emotion, except for the indifference of being completely indifferent to oneself.

He staked his entire life on Xin Que, going all in and abandoning his identity to fight for a chance to be with her.

Luo Huayi was absolutely certain that she didn't want to stay in this annoying story world, and she knew perfectly well that all she wanted was Xin Que.

But despite exhausting all means, there was still no hope of ever getting into her heart.

No matter how much she tried to numb and deceive herself, when she saw Xin Que's still indifferent eyes, Luo Huayi had to admit it—

He was trying to give his raw, unfeeling sincerity to a woman who needed it the least.

All their actions were absurd and futile.

Luo Huayi slowly released some of his strength and fell silent, pressing his warm forehead against hers.

Perhaps he should apologize for his sudden offense, or perhaps he should act as if nothing happened, just like during the day, and maintain a calm facade once he has calmed down.

But Luo Huayi can't say anything right now.

His throat felt like it was blocked with a dry piece of cotton, making it so uncomfortable that he couldn't say anything.

He might not even be able to maintain his last shred of dignity once he opens his mouth, and he might burst into tears again, just like before.

But silence won't solve the problem.

Silence only makes the complex emotions churning within people react more uncontrollably.

"Xin Que..." After an unknown amount of time, Luo Huayi called her in a hoarse voice.

His vision was somewhat unsteady, perhaps because he was affected by his out-of-control emotions, or perhaps because he was eager to get out of his current predicament.

But for some reason, Xin Que did not avoid his pressing lips.

Luo Huayi was stunned.

He slowly released Xin Que, and his reason finally returned a little. "I..."

The woman's lips moved, softened by the night, and she uttered only four words: "You won't regret it?"

The last vestiges of reason that had returned to the man were instantly overwhelmed by a torrent of ecstatic joy. He bent down and embraced the person he had longed for tightly, trying his best to prove his feelings, "I have no regrets."

I will never regret it, even if it means dying.

The woman's slender, bony hand forcefully gripped the back of his head. Then, he heard Xin Que seem to laugh, "How did it come to this point of life and death?"

Luo Huayi's nose tingled with emotion. "Haven't we been through enough life-or-death situations already?"

Xin Que patted his hair reassuringly, her words carrying a deeper meaning: "It's not time to truly decide life or death yet."

Because of the change in the weight of Luo Huayi, her original plan had to be readjusted.

"Yes, you can do whatever you want with this life..." Luo Huayi slowly lowered his head, wanting to find her soft lips, his breath hot, "I'll listen to you."

After the woman suddenly exerted force, protecting the back of his head, and pulled him to the corner of the wall, Luo Huayi could no longer control himself and hugged her back as she pressed down on him.

I don't want to be disturbed by anyone.

It belongs only to him and Xin Que...

The boundary line of the Luo family's old house became increasingly clear in the air.

Eventually, it gradually disappeared into the area, falling into a space where no one cared.

As Luo Huayi lay back on the floor following her movements, her voice was somewhat unsteady.

He grasped the woman's wrist, which was resting against his chest, and asked her softly, "Are all couples like this in your world?"

It seems to be different from the data he had in his mind about lovers being close together...

Xin Que was unusually honest for once. She leaned down and kissed his slightly parted lips, "No, that's not it."

The woman pressed her knees between the man's long legs. "It's what I like."

Luo Huayi closed his eyes, letting himself sink into Xin Que's extremely aggressive kiss. He raised his hand to hug Xin Que's back, closed his eyes and entangled with her, throwing all the dispensable data in his mind aside.

None of that matters; the most important thing is that she's by my side.

After a long pause, the man's muffled breathy voice finally reached Xin Que's ears through the gap in his lips, "...Then...whatever you like."
