Chapter 177 Temptation
Luo Huayi squinted, a dust-stained shirt casually draped over his shoulders. His bare arms held Xin Que tightly in his embrace, his hand idly stroking Xin Que's hair. "Mmm..."
The man's voice was already somewhat hoarse when he opened his mouth.
"Go back?" Luo Huayi finally got his wish and their heartbeats were pressed tightly together. He lowered his head and kissed Xin Que's head, his love tender. "Or I can use my powers to clean this place up... and we can rest here?"
Xin Que was getting a headache from Luo Huayi's persistent pestering.
He seems to have some kind of skin hunger disorder; from the beginning until now, he has been holding her tightly and refusing to let go.
The belt buckle hung loosely on the floor, the wide-open waistband of his trousers dangling, making a slight clanging sound as he moved.
Xin Que pushed herself up from his embrace, saying, "Let's go back."
Luo Huayi had no choice but to get up behind her.
The woman made soft rustling sounds of clothes being adjusted behind her. Luo Huayi fastened her belt again and walked to Xin Que's side.
When Xin Que returned to the villa, she found that the scenery outside the villa had changed again.
Much of the ruins have disappeared, and some of the streets... have been rebuilt.
She looked at the man beside her, "What are you thinking about now?"
"Don't drink tonight..." Luo Huayi handed Xin Que a glass of warm water. "Huh?"
Upon hearing Xin Que's question, he realized that his idea had once again brought about a slight change to the map.
“I wasn’t thinking about anything,” he shook his head, his eyes darting around nervously, “I’m just… very happy.”
Xin Que "..."
“Go to the master bedroom to rest, I’ll stay next to you,” Luo Huayi came over and took her hand. “What’s the point of sleeping in the living room?”
Xin Que withdrew her hand. "No need. I'll be in the living room. If that guy surnamed Zhen makes any moves, I'll be able to react."
Luo Huayi couldn't argue with her, so she resigned herself to her fate and went to move the bedding, saying, "Then I'll go with you."
As if afraid Xin Que would refuse, he added, "It's safer than you taking the night watch alone."
Xin Que "..."
Before turning off the lights, Luo Huayi noticed that her sleeping habits were very different from those of normal people.
For example, she doesn't need a complete bed surface, pillow, and blanket that a normal person needs.
In her words, due to her special status, she had to create an uncomfortable resting environment for herself so that she could stay in a light sleep and wake up immediately to deal with any disturbance.
Xin Que refused to rest on the sofa bed, and instead casually set up a resting area in an open space not far away.
Luo Huayi also saw the military knife that had been with her for a long time.
Are all assassins like this?
This was completely different from what he had imagined—a tender moment followed by falling asleep in each other's arms...
After the living room lights were completely turned off, Luo Huayi felt a little regretful.
Xin Que's presence in the darkness was shockingly weak.
He lay on the large chaise lounge, unable to fall asleep.
One moment I wanted to check if Xin Que was asleep, the next I thought that Xin Que might need a softer blanket lying on the hard floor...
The more she thought about it, the clearer her mind became. Luo Huayi simply quietly lifted the blanket and stepped onto the floor.
The movements were deliberately made as light as possible.
Just as the person stood up from the sofa, clutching the blanket, a completely emotionless female voice rang out from the darkness not far away, "...Do you think I'm deaf?"
Luo Huayi “…”
This left him so embarrassed that he stood there motionless.
“Go back to sleep,” Xin Que commanded in the darkness. “Don’t do anything pointless.”
Luo Huayi “…”
He had no choice but to carry the blanket back home.
The living room finally became completely quiet.
Luo Huayi tossed and turned for an unknown amount of time before her mind gradually cleared.
Just before he completely drifted off to sleep, the sofa next to him seemed to have sagged.
Just as he was about to open his eyes to see who it was, Xin Que's reassuring voice came from above him. The woman's warm palm covered his eyes, her movements much gentler, "Sleep."
Luo Huayi rubbed her palm against hers, completely relaxing.
[After granting regional movement permissions, the male protagonist's data composition has risen to a higher level compared to before.] Cheng Zheng's voice was serious in her consciousness. [Your new plan might actually have a viable success...]
Xin Que looked up at the second floor, which was shrouded in darkness.
Mr. Zhen, no, the human form of the Five Senses King is resting inside.
...
"What brings you here so late at night?" Mr. Zhen sat cross-legged on the edge of the bed, his bracelet dangling from his wrist.
He seemed to be meditating, but showed no surprise at the unexpected visitor to his room.
The woman slowly emerged from the darkness and stood in front of him. "Let's talk business."
Mr. Zhen opened his eyes and looked at Xin Que, "You finally couldn't sit still anymore?"
Xin Que smiled and casually threw the question back at him, "Before we talk about my business, let me hear what you want from me first."
"Someone like you, following us around for no reason, can't possibly be here to do charity, can he?"
"Since everyone has something to ask for, why resort to deception and testing each other? Why not have an open and honest discussion?"
With a flick of his wrist, Mr. Zhen sent the two of them plunging into the shadows that filled the entire bedroom.
“You’ve come this far from the prison’s defenses, so you must have some information to decipher.” Mr. Zhen’s expression remained gentle. “Don’t worry, this is the only life-saving ability I have left. It’s absolutely safe here.”
"My attitude remains the same as before, and I will maintain absolute sincerity."
"Miss Xin, you can come and see for yourself what I want."
...
Xin Que's eyes moved, and the scene before her eyes gradually faded away.
A hint of amusement crept into her gaze as she looked at Mr. Zhen. "You have quite the ambition."
They actually wanted to erase the part of the Five Senses King that controlled Hell, and completely seize the Five Senses King's power and status in human form.
"It's just a bit of revenge against those in power for betraying me after I've served them," Mr. Zhen replied gently. "From my perspective, you should see how I used to work so hard for them..."
"How ridiculous! The seemingly glamorous human forms of the Ten Kings of Hell are actually just consumables with countless backups."
Xin Que's previous questions were answered here.
Why could the prison so readily abandon Mr. Zhen without any regard for his value? Because there are countless such so-called tangible human beings in the prison system's backup database.
When the Ten Kings of Hell need to appear in human form, the superior will transfer the corresponding authority to the appropriate human form, and then reclaim the authority after the task is completed.
The cycle repeats itself, with each worn-out body immediately replaced by the next one.
Mr. Zhen's body was one of those that were scrapped.
“We’re on the same path,” Mr. Zhen’s smile remained unchanged as he urged her to make a decision quickly. “Our interests align, so why can’t we cooperate?”
Xin Que raised her eyes. "It's a good suggestion, but I think you're still too restrictive."
Mr. Zhen was taken aback.
"If you're going to do something, why not do something big? You've already got your eye on the position of King of Five Features..." Xin Que's eyes reflected the man's astonished face. "Why can't your ambition be any bigger..."
The woman's soft voice seemed to carry a hint of seduction, "For example, above the Ten Kings of Hell, what is the position of the administrator?"
