Chapter 19 Pushed to the Brink
Luo Huayi's anxiety began to surge up again.
He looked at the wound on his palm, where the bleeding had stopped. The blood had oxidized and changed color, making it particularly glaring under the dim light.
The dried bloodstains were like a hot hook poking at a flame, gradually igniting Luo Huayi's reason as the restless flames consumed and burned her.
The four walls completely blocked this small space, and the ceiling seemed to be pressing down on him, making him feel suffocated and uncomfortable.
Luo Huayi took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He needed to leave this place as soon as possible.
Xin Que noticed that Luo Huayi was unconsciously fiddling with her hands more and more frequently.
It seems this person is about to give up.
"How can we get out..." Luo Huayi got up and walked to the door. The two walls outside the door were completely sealed off, blocking the entrance.
He tried to push it, then turned back to grab a chair and smash it.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Each beat was faster and heavier than the last.
Luo Huayi gritted her teeth, her eyes fixed on the thick wall blocking the only exit, unable to see anything else.
Wood chips flew everywhere, and with a loud crash, Luo Huayi tossed aside the wreckage of the chair in his hand. His anxious gaze swept across the space behind him, trying to find other tools that he could use.
Xin Que stood in the shadows at the corner of the wall, as if the person did not exist.
The broken chair seemed to have flipped a switch, and Luo Huayi was completely unable to calm herself down.
He wandered back and forth in the secret room, frantically searching for anything he could pick up, trying to create an escape route for himself.
Until the ground was a complete mess.
Everything that could be found was smashed against the wall blocking the doorway by the out-of-control man.
But like a silent mockery, the wall remained unmoved.
Luo Huayi gasped for breath, trying to make it easier for herself to breathe.
But the spatial boundaries that seemed to be crushing him from all sides appeared to be getting closer to him, as if they were going to trap him here to die.
The man clutched his shirt collar, his face growing increasingly pale.
Xin Que took everything in.
Even if the male lead is on the verge of a breakdown, the plot doesn't intend to let him leave?
This conclusion completely overturned Xin Que's previous guesses about the plot.
She had previously thought that the plot was constantly drawing her closer to Luo Huayi because everything revolved around the male lead.
But now it seems... the plot only cares about whether she and Luo Huayi can continue as the pre-set storyline unfolds.
Compared to the male protagonist who is at the center of the world, Luo Huayi is more like a tool controlled by the rules of the plot.
The man lost his balance and eventually collapsed into the mess.
Xin Que walked over and glanced at the unmoving wall outside the door.
"I have to get out..." Luo Huayi's mind was almost exhausted. He looked up and saw Xin Que standing beside him, staring at the wall blocking the doorway, seemingly deep in thought.
Xin Que's hand suddenly sank.
She looked down and saw the man gripping her arm tightly, his eyes bloodshot, his whole being in a state of agitation and frenzy. "Do you know how to get out?"
Seeing that Xin Que didn't speak, Luo Huayi gripped her hand even tighter, as if she wanted to crush her forearm. "Take me out of here, and I promise I won't report you!"
Luo Huayi desperately needed someone to help him get out, and in the end he was on the verge of collapse, completely disregarding the possible consequences of his words and actions.
The current predicament is urgent; if Luo Huayi continues to be confined in this space, she will go insane sooner or later.
The anxiety and other negative emotions permeating the air were almost like a bottomless undercurrent, engulfing his chest and spreading to his throat.
It's difficult to stay rational.
I also have difficulty breathing.
It's even difficult to see the person in front of you clearly.
Luo Huayi gripped Xin Que's arm tightly, swaying as she slowly propped herself up to stand. "We can't stay here any longer...we can't..."
Xin Que saw that the man in front of her had collapsed and was punching the hard wall repeatedly, and soon, several bloody marks appeared on the wall.
It was all in vain.
After a long while, the man was completely exhausted. As he was about to collapse onto the mess, wiping away the bloodstains, a strong arm appeared around his waist, steadily stopping him from falling.
Luo Huayi barely managed to straighten up, following the force of Xin Que's hand, and turned to look at the woman who had suddenly made her move.
"You want to go out?" Xin Que considered all the information she had and finally softened her expression before speaking gently.
Luo Huayi's hand, which was pounding against the wall, was in excruciating pain. The throbbing pain felt like knives stabbing into his heart, but he had no time to care about the pain in his hand. He desperately needed an answer to escape from here.
"Yes," Luo Huayi's eyes were bloodshot, "Get out!"
“Okay,” Xin Que was surprisingly agreeable this time, “I’ll take you away from here, but…”
You have to promise me one thing.
Luo Huayi was taken aback.
When he felt a warm, soft touch on his lips, Luo Huayi's eyes widened slightly, and he finally realized what Xin Que was doing to him.
He felt as if he had been thrown from one hell of anxiety to another, a hell of humiliation. His emotions were consumed by anger at being fooled and insulted, and he subconsciously went into a defensive state.
Luo Huayi raised her hand to grab Xin Que's hair, trying to push away this arrogant, shameless, and immoral bastard.
Clang.
The Tang-style horizontal sword fell to the ground with a dull thud as it hit the floor.
Xin Que and Luo Huayi's kiss was like a battle between mortal enemies. In the end, during their struggle, the two of them crashed heavily into the doorway of the secret room, which was blocked by the wall.
"Bang!"
Accompanied by a plot prompt that only Xin Que could hear, the two falling figures passed through the wall that had turned into a phantom and crashed heavily to the ground.
Then I heard the sound of time reversing and space returning to its original state.
"President Luo?!" Cheng Zheng, with reinforcements, pried open the door to Zhou Zichuan's study.
Luo Huayi slammed the back of his head onto the carpet, making him dizzy and disoriented. He hadn't even reacted when he heard Cheng Zheng's voice.
Cheng Zheng's pupils were tremor-like.
"You... Miss Xin," Cheng Zheng said, leading his men to rush forward to protect his boss's reputation, "get off President Luo immediately!!!"
Luo Huayi lay on her back on the ground, trying to focus her gaze on the man rushing towards them from the doorway.
With a flicker of his gaze, Luo Huayi finally understood their current situation and posture.
Xin Que held his arms tightly, and like a madwoman, with her hair disheveled, she straddled Luo Huayi's waist.
As for Luo Huayi... it was as if she was being forcibly pinned to the ground and sexually assaulted; the posture was truly suggestive.
Luo Huayi: "!!!"
Xin Que “......”
Has her disguise skills deteriorated, or has this assistant gained X-ray vision?!
Even though her wig fell off, it doesn't justify equating her appearance with the female lead's!
The scrolling, cursive text displaying the plot hints appeared briefly, then distorted and disappeared.
The current phase of the task has been completed.
