Chapter 22: My mind is full of bitterness towards my wife

It was almost eight o'clock when Lu Yanchen finished preparing the whole chicken feast.

Lu Yanchen made all the hand-shredded chicken, roasted chicken and spicy chicken that Song Chi mentioned. Not only did they look good, they were also very fragrant.

"Oh my god! My saliva."

Lu Xiao, who was sitting at the dinner table, wiped his mouth desperately and swallowed his saliva.

It was so delicious. He had never seen chicken that delicious.

Normally they eat chicken by simply boiling it and eating it without any seasoning. Now this way of eating it is simply a new world.

"You kid, didn't I tell you to go call Mr. Gu and Mr. Song? Why are you still here?"

Lu Lan, who came out of the kitchen to get food, hit Lu Xiao on the head.

"I'm going to call!"

Lu Xiao covered his head, feeling very wronged.

"What did Mr. Gu and the others say? Do you want to come over for dinner? Or should I leave some food for them?"

"Come and eat with us."

Lu Xiao quickly stole the chicken and stuffed it into his mouth. It was crispy, tender, spicy, and so delicious that he almost swallowed his tongue, his eyes sparkling.

"Oh, you kid."

Lu Lan hit Lu Xiao's hand.

Lu Xiao chuckled, "It's delicious, really delicious. That young master is really amazing. He knows how to cook so many delicious dishes."

"Song Zhiqing is from Kyoto, so it's not normal for him to know how to eat."

Lu Lan handed the heavy basket to Lu Xiao and said, "Give it to Fengzi. He helps your brother a lot with the housework."

"I'll be there right away. You guys have to wait for me to eat!"

Lu Xiao flew out of the yard like a gust of wind and headed straight for Jiang Feng's house.

Panting, he hugged the basket tightly in his arms and banged on the door.

"Here I come."

Jiang Feng's voice was heard in the dilapidated yard.

He threw down the half-woven backpack in his hand, patted the bamboo debris on his body and walked towards the wooden door of the yard.

"Xiaozi?"

Jiang Feng was a little surprised when he opened the door. "But what does the boss want to talk to me about?"

"My brother has nothing to do with you. After you finish eating, wash the dishes and return them to my house tomorrow. That's it."

Lu Xiao stuffed the basket into Jiang Feng's arms, turned around and ran away quickly, fearing that he would go back too late and have no chicken to eat.

Jiang Feng watched Lu Xiao run away in a daze, and finally looked down at the basket in his arms. It was very heavy and smelled very good.

"Is that kid Xiaozi here?"

Grandma Jiang's old voice came from the unlit room.

"Yes, grandma."

Jiang Feng hurriedly closed the gate and walked into the yard with the basket in his arms.

“Wow, it smells so good!”

"Brother, what is that and why does it smell so good?"

"Did Brother Xiaozi bring us food?"

The younger brothers and sisters swarmed towards Jiang Feng. There were about seven or eight of them, of all ages and heights.

Jiang Feng's parents and grandparents also came out of the house. The two old people were hunched over and their faces were full of wrinkles.

The other two had sallow complexions, were thin and dark, and looked as if they had been malnourished for years.

Jiang Feng's family has many children because Jiang Feng's mother was pregnant with twins and triplets at the same time. Since she had no place to abort the children, she had no choice but to give birth to them.

"This...we can't have this. Fengzi, please send it back immediately."

The frightened Grandma Jiang urged Jiang Feng. In the basket were three stacked plates of chicken and seven or eight white flour buns. These were not something their family could afford, so how could they dare to take them?

When the other children heard that they were going to be sent back, their happy faces turned into disappointment. They pursed their lips tightly, grabbed their clothes, lowered their heads and dared not say a word.

"Send it back quickly. How can we take such precious things like chicken and steamed buns for free?"

Jiang Feng's parents also urged Jiang Feng. They knew the situation of Lu Yanchen's family, which was not much better than theirs. Lu Yanchen also had to take care of his sick mother and his younger brother who was in school.

Jiang Feng didn't expect Lu Xiao to send so much meat, so he didn't dare to take it.

"Brother, here's a note."

Jiang Di spotted the note under the steamed bun and handed it to Jiang Feng.

Jiang Feng immediately took it and opened it, and Lu Yanchen's handwriting came into view, two simple words: Eaten.

Jiang Feng, whose nose was sore, burst into laughter. His boss was just so domineering.

"What did you write?"

Jiang Feng's parents were illiterate and asked nervously.

"This is for us to eat. If we send it back, they will be angry."

Jiang Feng took out the chicken and arranged it, and distributed the steamed buns to his younger brothers and sisters and grandparents.

Seeing that their parents had no share, Jiang Di and the others broke the steamed buns and gave them to their parents and Jiang Feng.

Jiang Feng touched their heads and said, "You are in the period of growth, so don't waste food after eating it."

As he stuffed the steamed buns into his parents' hands, he reminded his younger brothers and sisters, "You must help Brother Lu more in the future. You can't eat other people's food for free, understand?"

"Know."

The younger brothers and sisters all shouted happily in unison.

"Mom, this"

Father Jiang looked at his mother at a loss, holding half a steamed bun.

Grandma Jiang, the head of the family, said, "Listen to Fengzi, and help the Lu family more in the future. We may not have anything else, but we still have a lot of strength."

"Okay, okay!"

Father Jiang listened to his mother and carefully took a bite of the soft and fragrant steamed bun, chewing it carefully, while smiling at the children who were happily eating the meat. Although they were poor, they were full of happiness.

Mother Jiang also smiled as she watched the children eat heartily, and told them not to rush and to eat slowly.

Jiang Feng ate quickly, took the sack and went to find a few other brothers to wait at the educated youth site.

After squatting for about half an hour, they finally saw Ouyang Bin walking from the village head towards the educated youth point. They immediately looked at each other and hurried to ambush in the dim alley.

When Ouyang Bin passed by, they suddenly covered his mouth from behind, put a sack on him and started beating him with punches and kicks.
