sense of security

sense of security

Jiang Jingshu finally finished arranging everything. She stood by the lake in the Imperial Garden and looked back at the deep palace one last time.

It's time to say goodbye.

"Your Highness."

Hearing the sound, Jiang Jingshu turned around and saw Zhou Mingyuan standing behind her, stuffing something into her hand.

It was a jade pendant, pure white, and felt somewhat cold to the touch.

"Why are you giving me this?" Jiang Jingshu asked, puzzled.

"May you be blessed." Zhou Mingyuan smiled and turned to leave.

Jiang Jingshu put away the jade pendant. She stood by the pool, overwhelmed by fear, her legs trembling involuntarily.

The next second, she fell straight into the water.

A strong feeling of suffocation washed over her, and Jiang Jingshu gripped the jade pendant tightly in her hand.

She felt completely disoriented; she felt her body being torn apart, and she gradually lost her breath.

Is this the pain of traveling through time, or a reaction before death?

She's taking this gamble.

Jiang Jingshu gradually lost consciousness.

When she opened her eyes again, everything around her felt incredibly familiar.

She felt her hands being enveloped by a pair of warm hands, and she knew she had won her gamble.

She returned here.

Xie Zhijin was fast asleep beside her bed, and even in his sleep, his hand remained firmly on hers.

Jiang Jingshu turned her head slightly, and saw that the jade pendant Zhou Mingyuan had given her had broken into three pieces.

She felt, deep down, that the jade pendant had protected her.

Jiang Jingshu slightly withdrew her hand, but Xie Zhijin also woke up at the right time. He rubbed his eyes and looked at the awakened Jiang Jingshu with disbelief.

Xie Zhijin pinched himself.

Jiang Jingshu was both amused and exasperated: "Xie Zhijin, what are you doing?"

Hearing Jiang Jingshu's voice, Xie Zhijin finally felt relieved. He suddenly pulled Jiang Jingshu into his arms, feeling the girl's heartbeat, and he couldn't help but say, "This is not a dream."

This is not a dream.

Jiang Jingshu hugged Xie Zhijin back, as if to comfort him, but Xie Zhijin couldn't help but shed tears, "It's okay, it's okay."

Sensing Xie Zhijin's sob, Jiang Jingshu patted his back, feeling his heartbeat as she did.

Only her regularly beating heart could remind her that this was not a dream.

Only then can she truly feel that she has returned to this world.

Xie Zhijin quickly called Jiang Yuan, who rushed to the hospital. Upon seeing his daughter, who had already woken up, Jiang Yuan couldn't help but hug Jiang Jingshu.

Jiang Jingshu noticed that Jiang Yuan's hair had turned much whiter; her departure may have been a great blow to Jiang Yuan.

"Xiao Jing, you're finally awake. Are you feeling unwell? Tell Daddy, and Daddy will find you a doctor." Jiang Yuan carefully looked Jiang Jing Shu up and down.

Jiang Jingshu quickly shook her head, "I'm fine."

“You suddenly fell down the stairs, it scared me to death, thank goodness you woke up.” Jiang Yuan said, then shook his head, “Look at me, saying all this, it’s good that you’re awake, it’s good that you’re awake.”

Jiang Jingshu quickly told Jiang Yuan that she was completely fine, but Jiang Yuan was still worried and rushed to call the doctor for a check-up. After finally receiving a positive answer, Jiang Jingshu was discharged from the hospital.

Back in her bedroom, Jiang Jingshu felt a long-lost feeling. She leaned over her desk, looking at the agave plant in the pot. The pot was empty; there was no sign of the agave plant.

Jiang Jingshu smiled and leaned on the table, muttering to herself, "I'm sorry I didn't see you bloom."

Su Xiaoyue also called her to inquire about her health, and Jiang Jingshu told her the truth, telling Su Xiaoyue not to worry so much.

She picked up her job again and went live once more to let her fans know she was safe.

When she saw the high school student who had once sent her anxious private messages get into his dream university, and when she saw the drawings she had made appear in various fields, she smiled.

This was such a happy thing that Jiang Jingshu affirmed her own value more than once.

At this moment, she may have found the most important things in her life: the work she loves, the friends who have never abandoned her, and that even more important person.

Xie Zhijin appeared downstairs at Jiang Jingshu's house again with a bouquet of flowers, and took Jiang Jingshu to the orphanage.

The orphanage director was already waiting at the door. Xie Zhijin held Jiang Jingshu's hand firmly and walked step by step with great determination.

Jiang Jingshu was still wearing the clothes she had chosen long ago. The headmaster held Jiang Jingshu's hand and kept praising her, saying that she was a good girl.

Before leaving, I gave them a bunch of things.

Jiang Jingshu was a little embarrassed.

She secretly squeezed Xie Zhijin's palm, and Xie Zhijin covered her hand with his.

On the way home, the two stood side by side, and Jiang Jingshu said with a smile, "The headmistress is so gentle."

Xie Zhijin smiled and nodded.

She is very gentle.

"Have we met each other's parents yet, Xie Zhijin?" Jiang Jingshu walked slowly, resting her head slightly on Xie Zhijin's shoulder.

Xie Zhijin nodded, blushing slightly.

Jiang Jingshu observed Xie Zhijin's reaction beside her and couldn't help but smirk.

Xie Zhijin glanced at Jiang Jingshu out of the corner of his eye, then quickly looked away after their eyes met.

"Xie Zhijin, what were you thinking the day I left?" Jiang Jingshu asked slowly.

"I'm not ready," Xie Zhijin said slowly.

"What?" Jiang Jingshu didn't quite understand what Xie Zhijin meant.

"I told you before that I was prepared for your departure." Xie Zhijin stopped and looked at her, saying each word carefully, "But actually, I wasn't prepared at all."

"I cannot accept your departure."

Jiang Jingshu smiled and took his hand. "I'm sorry, I scared you."

Xie Zhijin shook his head, recalling the scene at that time.

When he saw Jiang Jingshu collapse in front of him, he instinctively ran over to her.

The girl's face was deathly pale, and Xie Zhijin's hand was icy cold.

He frantically reached into his pocket for his phone, while pulling Jiang Jingshu into his arms.

Xie Zhijin didn't know how he got Jiang Jingshu to the hospital.

He seemed to remain calm and contacted Jiang Yuan immediately.

After Jiang Yuan signed the surgical consent form, Xie Zhijin paced outside the operating room, rubbing his hands together. Suddenly, something occurred to him, and he quickly left the hospital.

She said she would only go back after the agave blooms.

He suddenly began to pray that the agave hadn't bloomed, but when she arrived at Jiang Jingshu's house, the agave had already blossomed in magnificent bloom.

He collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down his face.

The agave has bloomed; it's time for her to leave.

He wasn't prepared for her to leave at all. He took out his phone and, fighting back tears, took a picture of the agave plant.

Xie Zhijin lowered his head and muttered to himself, "You must be very curious about what agave flowers look like, right? I'll take pictures of them for you."

"I'll find it and show it to you when you come back."

"This is my first time watching it too, Jiang Jingshu."

"Can you come back?"

However, God did not hear Xie Zhijin's prayers. He returned to the hospital and learned that Jiang Jingshu had become a vegetable.

He sat by Jiang Jingshu's bedside almost every day, holding her very cold hand.

Even though his palms were warm, he couldn't warm her hands.

In just three months, he felt like each day was an eternity.

But he still believed that Jiang Jingshu would definitely come back.

He gave up his live-streaming job and began searching for Taoist priests. Perhaps it was fate, but Xie Zhijin actually encountered a mysterious person.

Xie Zhijin told the mysterious man everything, and the mysterious man simply asked him, "Did your beloved leave behind any items that express your feelings?"

Xie Zhijin then remembered that the room in the house was full of her paintings.

"It must be something you pour your heart into, preferably love," the mysterious man told Xie Zhijin, who nodded quickly.

The paintings in this room are all about love.

The mysterious person told her that if she wanted to see the person in her heart again, she had to use an object into which she poured all her emotions as a vessel. This work of art could serve as a channel to take him to that world.

Without saying a word, Xie Zhijin immediately asked again, "What should I do?"

"It's very simple." The mysterious man smiled, "However, the pain of traveling through time is unbearable. Can you bear it?"

Xie Zhijin responded firmly, "Tell me how to do it."

He didn't care how painful it would be to travel through time; to him, that pain was nothing compared to the pain of losing her.

Xie Zhijin returned to his room. He walked into the room, which was filled with Jiang Jingshu's works, and his mind was filled with the words Jiang Jingshu had said.

He bought many bottles of wine. Xie Zhijin didn't drink, but looking at all the paintings in the room, he couldn't help but sit on the floor, pick up a wine glass, and drink it all in one gulp.

He remembered that Jiang Jingshu tilted her head and smiled at him, saying, "Every time you help me in the future, I will draw a picture for you."

Thinking about all this, he could only smile helplessly.

He stood up, intending to set a painting on fire, but then stopped, muttering to himself, "Your work, just like that, I've ruined it."

"But I can't live without seeing you."

Xie Zhijin sniffed the smell of alcohol on himself. "I should have known better than to drink."

He took a cold shower, and when he felt clear-headed enough, he set the painting on fire.

That was the first painting Jiang Jingshu gave him when they first met.

The moment it was lit, Xie Zhijin fell into a coma.

He felt as if his internal organs were being torn apart, and his eyelids were extremely heavy, as if tens of thousands of ants were crawling inside his body.

His head felt as if it had been hit hard, and the resulting dizziness made him feel extremely nauseous.

At this moment, he wondered if Jiang Jingshu had also experienced these things when she traveled through time.

However, this round of pain lasted for a full hour.

The moment the discomfort left his body, Xie Zhijin opened his eyes and saw Jiang Jingshu lying face down in front of the desk.

She was from ancient times, dressed in rough clothes, quietly lying on the desk.

Xie Zhijin had no other thoughts at the moment. He simply walked shakily to Jiang Jingshu's side, seemingly afraid of waking her, and gently touched her hand.

I touched her again after many days.

But she was completely unaware, quietly lying on the edge of the table.

He smiled and stared at her, and seeing that she was unharmed, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Xie Zhijin's only thought was that she was thankful, thankfully she was doing well here.

Later, Xie Zhijin came to see her every day without fail, and she finally discovered it.

They finally met again in ancient times.

Xie Zhijin continued to stay with her at the hospital during the day, and at night he would burn a painting to visit her in the ancient world.

It seems that this one aspect can overcome many things.

Xie Zhijin thought that if Jiang Jingshu never came back, he would be willing to come here to see her every day.

However, every painting eventually burns out.

Fortunately, Jiang Jingshu returned. When Xie Zhijin saw Jiang Jingshu wake up, his prayers were finally heard.

Fate brought them together again.

His thoughts drifted back, and Xie Zhijin simply smiled at Jiang Jingshu. He gently bent down and leaned on Jiang Jingshu's shoulder.

When Jiang Jingshu met Xie Zhijin for the first time, she smiled and patted his head.

“Jiang Jingshu, do you know that I have a lack of security?” Xie Zhijin’s voice came slowly, his voice was hoarse, and he said to Jiang Jingshu, “After you left, I have spent every day in fear and anxiety.”

“Never again.” Jiang Jingshu gently patted Xie Zhijin’s hair. “It must have been so hard for you to find me.”

Xie Zhijin shook his head slightly. "I want to thank you."

"Thank me for what?" Jiang Jingshu turned her head slightly and looked at Xie Zhijin beside her.

"Thank you for loving me in the same way," Xie Zhijin said slowly.

"Xie Zhijin, have I made you feel safe?" Jiang Jingshu's voice trembled slightly. After receiving Xie Zhijin's affirmative answer, she slowly shed a tear.

"Why are you crying?" Xie Zhijin's voice was extremely gentle, almost like he was coaxing a child. He slowly straightened up, opened his arms, and said to Jiang Jingshu, "Come here then."

Seeing Xie Zhijin's actions, Jiang Jingshu instinctively ran over.

Xie Zhijin's voice rang in their ears, and with the gentle breeze, the tips of their hair swayed slightly.

"Let me be your source of security."
