Yin Lan smiled and cut a piece of jelly, placing it on a clean, dark green leaf, making the jelly look even more translucent and tempting. She handed it over, saying, "We just came here to rest. This is a snack that my family made for us while we're still waking up. Big brother, why don't you try it and see if you can sell it?"
Since he wasn't there to sell anything, and the person speaking was good-looking and had a good attitude, and the food in his hands wasn't as sloppy as the other villagers' food, but rather clean and had a natural flavor, and he was asked to come but to ask for help, how could the gatekeeper still give him a hard time?
He softened his tone, "I have kids at home too, does this really whet the appetite?"
"Please try some," Yin Lan said, handing it over.
The doorman took a bite, not expecting much, but after chewing it, he found it to be sweet and sour, and indeed delicious. His eyes suddenly lit up.
"This thing..." Before he could speak, two old women with worried faces came out from inside.
"Nothing seems to work for the old lady. Is there anything that can make her have an appetite?"
The doorman was still holding the item, and the sweet and sour aroma still lingered in his mouth. Almost instinctively, he asked, "Would you like to try this, Granny?"
The two old women stopped, and the gatekeeper pointed at Yin Lan and gave her an explanation.
The old woman didn't believe it. The old lady of the house couldn't just eat food from outside; how would she know if it was clean or not?
But looking at the things Yin Lan handed over, the leaves were fine and clean, she was efficient, and although her clothes were old and patched, they were clean, and the things looked fresh.
"jelly?"
This is a name I've never heard of before, and it tastes very novel, with a sweet and sour flavor.
The two old women exchanged a glance.
"Is your food truly clean?"
Yin Lan naturally patted her chest and guaranteed it.
The two nannies decided to give it a shot, and immediately decided to buy it. After all, the old lady had a whole table of food on her table, so maybe this new food would come in handy.
The remaining twelve dollars must be purchased immediately.
Zhao Dashan was so excited that his hands were shaking.
But Yin Lan hesitated, "This is for the village children..."
The old nanny was quite generous. "Five coins a piece. You can go back and make it for the child again. If the old lady likes your food, your good luck is yet to come."
Yin Lan simply didn't want the other party to get it so easily; the more eager she was to buy it, the more the other party would despise her.
Unexpectedly, the other party immediately raised the price to five coins!
Twelve pieces, sold for five coins, that's sixty coins!
It sold way more than I expected!
Zhao Dashan was so happy he was dumbfounded.
Yin Lan suppressed her excitement and reluctantly sold the items.
He quickly stuffed it into his pocket.
The items were wrapped in leaves.
The two old women found the item unique and novel, and were quite satisfied with it. The old lady's favorite things were fresh and unusual.
The two of them carried their things inside.
It was lunchtime, and the old lady had been listless for the past few days. She had come here to recuperate, but she was still not in good spirits.
The table was laden with food, all carefully prepared by the chef, and in the corner was placed Yinlan's jelly.
The two maids were a little uneasy. The cook also saw the newly bought items but didn't care at all. What good things could there be in such a small place? It was probably just local food.
A short while later, the old lady came out, supported by two maids, and sat down.
The person is still somewhat lacking in energy.
Looking at the table full of food, I had no appetite.
I ate two dishes casually and then put down my chopsticks.
The two old women sighed inwardly. Sure enough, the food in this small town was not good enough for a nobleman.
The old lady had already looked away when she suddenly saw something green, and her somewhat cloudy eyes narrowed.
What is that?
The item was handed to her, and a nanny came out to explain. Of course, she wouldn't tell the truth, but instead said that the two of them had been searching for something appetizing and had been wandering around here for a long time before finally finding it. It looked good, clean, and sweet and sour, so they bought it to try and see if they could eat it.
He then opened the leaf.
It sounded like a local delicacy, but the old lady's eyes, which had initially lost interest, suddenly perked up again when she saw the semi-transparent thing inside. It seemed to contain wild fruit and was covered in icing sugar.
Subconsciously, she picked up a spoon, scooped out a small bite, sipped it, chewed it, and swallowed it.
It has a sweet and sour taste, and a tender and smooth texture with a refreshing sweet and sour flavor.
The two old women watched the old lady's reaction nervously.
The cook glanced at it a few times, but didn't take it seriously.
The old lady's face was expressionless, but after taking a bite, she took another bite, and then another bite.
The two old women's expressions changed drastically.
The cook was also stunned.
A maidservant ran off to inform the young master of the household.
In the end, the old lady ate half of the whole block of jelly.
After finishing the meal, the listless old lady perked up a bit. "This is good. Whoever made it, reward them. It must have been hard for you to go and find them, reward them too." With that, she went back satisfied.
The two nannies were overjoyed.
The cook, looking embarrassed, stepped forward and asked, "What is this? Where did you buy it?"
The two old women finally calmed down. Yes, who did it?
When I went to the door, Yin Lan was nowhere to be seen. If I wanted to buy her again in the future, where would I go to buy her?
They looked to the cook for help, but he said sheepishly, "I'd like to ask how this is made; I don't know how right now."
