Chapter 105 Selling Ginseng

Before they knew it, it was noon again. Xu Han had only eaten lunch a short while when Lu Chuan returned.

"You're back quite early today!" Xu Han said.

"Yes! We hunted a wild boar yesterday, and it was already on the verge of death last night. I was afraid it would die, so I rushed back as soon as it was just getting light this morning," Lu Chuan replied.

"You haven't eaten yet, have you? Here's some food for you, have some first."

Xu Han took a serving of rice and chicken stew with mushrooms from her spatial storage, along with a bowl of seaweed soup, and brought it to the main room for Lu Chuan to eat.

After Lu Chuan finished eating, Xu Han said, "Then you handle the wild boar, and I'll handle the rest of the prey."

Over time, Xu Han has become very skilled at handling prey. Every time Lu Chuan slaughters the prey, Xu Han can process it herself.

At first, she wasn't used to it, but sometimes there were so many prey that Lu Chuan couldn't handle it all by himself, and Xu Han couldn't just watch Lu Chuan deal with it all by himself, so she gradually started to help out.

Later on, they became fearless in handling prey, and now they are very fast and efficient.

After the two finished processing their prey for the day, it was time to prepare dinner.

Xu Han took some pickled cabbage from the jar, planning to stir-fry a dish of pickled cabbage and chicken giblets later. She had already accumulated a lot of chicken giblets in her space, enough to stir-fry a big pot.

After stir-frying the chicken giblets, I also stir-fried some garlic greens, served them with fragrant rice, and a bowl of hot and sour soup—it was another delicious meal.

After dinner, Lu Chuan said, "Tomorrow we're going to the county town to buy grain, and we also need to visit Doctor Liu. We definitely won't be back by tomorrow night. Do you want to come with us to Doctor Liu's?"

As Lu Chuan spoke, he cautiously glanced at Xu Han.

The Liu family and the original owner Xu Han's family were from the same village. Lu Chuan was probably afraid of touching on Xu Han's painful memories, so he was very careful when he brought it up.

Although he knew that the current Xu Han was not the same Xu Han as before, she had transmigrated into this world after the original owner died, and he was afraid that Xu Han would feel uncomfortable, so he dared not say anything.

Seeing that Xu Han remained silent, Lu Chuan added, "Wait for me at the inn! I'll go find Doctor Liu to buy some wound medicine and come back quickly."

Xu Han was just thinking that she had to avenge the original owner properly, how could she let the original owner's grandmother's family go so easily!

Upon hearing Lu Chuan say that he wasn't allowed to go, he immediately spoke up.

"Go! How can we not go! Xu Han died so tragically before, we definitely have to teach them a lesson. We can't let them off easily. I wouldn't agree to it myself, after all, when I first came here, I was beaten almost to death and lay in bed for a long time!"

Lu Chuan laughed when he heard Xu Han say that. "That's right! They need to be taught a lesson. I wanted to do it before, but you didn't say anything, and I was a little hesitant because they are your family."

"I don't have family like that! They need to be taught a lesson."

"Fine, teach him a lesson however you want, I'll do it for you," Lu Chuan said slyly.

"I haven't decided yet! What do you think?" Xu Han asked in return.

Then the two of them quietly discussed how to deal with that whole family...

The next day, the two took some medicinal herbs and ginseng, as well as the wild boar they had hunted the day before, and set off for the county town early in the morning.

After arriving in the county town, they first went to Manxianglou to sell the day's prey, earning a total of 9 taels of silver.

As usual, she went to the market and bought a lot of miscellaneous things. Xu Han bought anything that was suitable.

Buy anything you think you might need in the future, just in case you need it later and don't have it at home!

After their thorough search, the two left the market.

There's another big event today! It's selling ginseng.

After leaving the market, they went to the familiar pharmacy. When the clerk saw that there were two of them, he knew that they had come to sell medicinal herbs.

They invited the person directly into the backyard, and then went to ask the shopkeeper to come and collect the medicinal herbs.

"So it's Lu boy and Xu girl here. What good things have you brought for this old man today?" the shopkeeper said to the two with a smile.

"Uncle Zhang, you're too kind. I brought some medicinal herbs with me today, and I would appreciate it if you could take a look at them," Lu Chuan replied.

Upon hearing this, the pharmacy owner knew that the medicinal herbs Lu Chuan had brought today were no ordinary ones.

So they invited the two into the reception hall and had the waiter serve them tea.

After all, Lu Chuan used to come here often to sell medicinal herbs, but he had never said anything like this before. He must have brought something good this time. The shopkeeper was also very curious about what it was.

After the shop assistant left, Lu Chuan took out the contents of his basket and showed them to the shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper looked surprised when he saw what Lu Chuan was holding, but then he laughed.

They exclaimed, "Young Lu's luck is incredible! He actually managed to dig up so many ginseng roots all at once!"

Today, the two of them brought a total of 3 ginseng roots that are over 100 years old, 10 ginseng roots that are 50 to 100 years old, and 10 ginseng roots that are about 10 years old.

This was already excessive; Xu Han dared not take out the remaining ginseng directly.

Because it was a pharmacy they had been dealing with for a long time, and because Lu's father had some connections with the pharmacy owner before his death, having saved the pharmacy owner's parents' lives.

Lu Chuan knew the pharmacy owner's character well, which was why he dared to take out so many ginsengs at once. Other pharmacies would definitely not have dared to do that.

The pharmacy owner held the century-old ginseng in his hand, examining it again and again, clearly delighted with it, and said...

"This ginseng is at least 150 years old, so it can be considered a top-grade specimen."

These two ginseng roots are slightly younger, but still around 120 years old—truly rare and precious! It's just a pity about the smaller ones.

After admiring it for a while, he suddenly said, "Usually there are ginseng-guarding snakes next to these kinds of ginseng. Are you alright?"

"It was a bit dangerous, but thankfully no one was injured," Lu Chuan replied.

Upon hearing this, the pharmacy owner naturally knew that things weren't as easy as Lu Chuan had made them out to be; they must have encountered danger. Fortunately, no one was hurt, which was a real relief!

Since Lu Chuan didn't want to talk about it, they wisely stopped asking.

However, the shopkeeper was in a dilemma again, saying, "These are all good things, but unfortunately, although our pharmacy has a branch in the city, we can't possibly consume so many ginsengs!"

I want all of these, but even if I take out all the money, it won't be enough!
