Chapter 146 Returning to the Village, the Clan Members Were Astonished

The cave had been knocked open by the python, and now a hole about a meter high was exposed. He took the big knife in his hand and went inside, with An Shuyi following behind, holding a bomb in one hand and a lighter in the other.

Before even entering the cave, they could smell a fishy stench. Although the outer cave was small, it was quite spacious inside. They could walk upright without any problem. It was a stone cave with stone walls inside.

Xia Hua shone her flashlight inside. There were no snakes, and the cave wasn't very big. She didn't know how the two snakes had managed to stay inside. However, there was a pit in the middle of the cave, which was probably where the python stayed.

"You wait here, I'll go take a look. And don't let your hands shake, I'm really afraid you'll blow me up." After saying that, he approached the pit, and after seeing it clearly, he suppressed his nausea and slowly backed out.

He took the bomb and held the lighter in his hand, saying, "Go outside and wait for me. I'll come out after I throw it."

An Shuyi didn't linger or show any interest in looking. She hurriedly ran outside. Xia Hua watched her go out, lit a lighter, placed it on the fuse of the bomb, and after a spark appeared, threw it forcefully into the pit before running outside.

I ran out and didn't dare to stop for a moment. I ran quite a distance before stopping.

bang

A huge sound came, and a crater was blown into the ground. Xia Hua didn't leave. She told An Shuyi to hide. She looked at the blasted cave, picked up her knife, and headed towards it. One bomb couldn't kill all the snakes. There might be some that escaped. So she had to keep an eye on them and make sure no snakes escaped before they left.

Soon, a snake crawled out of the blasted cave, but it wasn't as big as a python, only a little over a meter long and as thick as an adult man's hand. Xia Hua didn't hesitate and went over to kill it with a single stroke. Then two more snakes came out and were also killed.

After waiting for more than an hour to make sure there were no more snakes, she went to An Shuyi's place. She originally wanted to stay on the mountain for a few more days, but now that Shushu was injured, she decided to go back first and come back later.

"Shushu, let's go back!"

An Shuyi nodded. She wasn't suited to stay on the mountain in her current state. Every now and then, she could feel waves of pain in her chest. When she lifted her clothes to check earlier, she found bruises on her chest, indicating that her internal organs were probably in even worse condition.

"I'll carry you on my back." Xia Hua threw the broadsword into the warehouse, squatted down, picked her up, and headed down the mountain.

Once they reached the outer edge of the mountain and could see the village, the two stopped and began to change clothes. An Shuyi bought more than ten piglets from the trading system, followed by her peonies and camellias.

Xia Hua saw that she was still insisting on taking these things out, so she didn't say anything. She tied all the pigs to the tree, took out two baskets from the warehouse, one for peonies and the other for camellias, and put them aside. She also took out the bow and arrows and put them on the ground. Finally, she took out the badly injured python from her warehouse.

"I'll have Mutou arrange for someone to pick these up later." After saying that, he continued to carry her down the mountain. It was already late afternoon, and because it was summer, it got dark slowly.

Seeing that they were almost at the village, An Shuyi finally felt relieved. She tilted her head and spat out a mouthful of blood before collapsing limply onto his back.

"You're so stubborn, you'll suffer for it. Even if you had just coughed up blood, would I have said anything to you?" A look of panic flashed in Xia Hua's eyes, but it quickly disappeared. Although she was speaking, she quickened her pace.

"No, I just didn't want you to worry. Don't worry, it's just blood stasis, you'll be fine once you spit it out."

Hearing her weak and listless voice, Xia Hua didn't say anything more. "Don't talk, we'll be there soon!" she said, quickening her pace toward the village, where the clansmen were all at the workshop.

She had barely approached with the person on her back when Village Chief Lin noticed her. "Sister-in-law Xia?" He rushed over, but upon seeing the person on her back, he was so frightened that he fell to the ground.

"Sister An, what's wrong with you? Help! Help!" Then came a deafening roar. An Shuyi was so frightened by the voice that she looked up, but she couldn't see anything, she could only hear the sound.

Xia Hua noticed the commotion behind her. She was about to curse, but when she saw the old man lying on the ground, his hands and feet trembling, she didn't say anything.

When the villagers at the workshop heard Village Chief Lin's voice, they all thought something had happened and rushed over. They saw that Sister Xia was carrying Sister An on her back, and a bad feeling welled up in their hearts, so they started to cry.

"Aunt Xia, what's wrong with my mother?" The eldest son rushed over and asked, his voice choked with sobs. His other sons and daughters-in-law were also there, looking on with concern.

"Mr. Xia, what's wrong with Shuyi?" An's father asked anxiously, sitting down on the ground with a deathly pale face.

“Shushu isn’t dead yet, don’t cry too soon. She’s just a little injured. Doctor Liu, come back to the house with me to take a look. Changyuan, take a few people up the mountain and bring back the things we left there. Be quick about it.” After Xia Hua finished speaking, she carried Shushu and headed into the house.

After hearing her out, the others were relieved that she was alright, but they weren't completely at ease. If it was just a minor injury, there would be no need to carry her; it must be something serious. As they watched her leave, the group followed behind, but they didn't dare get too close. Xia's appearance was somewhat frightening, and they didn't dare to approach.

After arriving at their house, Xia Hua carefully placed her on the bed and pulled Doctor Liu over, "Quickly take a look at Shu Shu, she was hit in the chest by a python and just vomited blood."

Doctor Liu, who was pulled over, didn't say anything and obediently took her pulse. After a while, he said, "Xia, take a look at An's chest. Is there any indentation?"

He couldn't press it with his hands, otherwise he would damage the bones inside; he could only let Xia Meizi examine it.

When Xia Hua turned his back, she lifted his shirt, revealing a bruise on his chest. "It's not sunken in, but the bruise is quite deep, almost purple."

Doctor Liu nodded. "The bone isn't broken. The blood she vomited is peritoneal hemorrhage. Sister Xia, don't worry. I'll go get some medicine. During this time, Sister An should rest in bed. However, I don't have any ginseng here. We can wait until tomorrow and have someone go to Jinnan City to see if we can buy one."

"Aunt Xia, the city gates of Jinnan City should still be open. I'll arrange for someone to ride a horse there, and they'll be able to buy it back soon," Village Chief Lin said cautiously from outside.

"Village chief, let me go. I'm fast on horseback," Lin Wenming said. They had ridden horses before when they were herding cattle, and he was the best rider.

“Wow, I can ride a horse fast too!” Lin Wenyu said.

Xia Hua told them to be quiet. "I have ginseng here, you don't need to buy it. Doctor Liu, go and get the medicine, and also get some ointment for rinsing."

“If Xia has ginseng, that would be perfect. Just cut off a slice and let An hold it in her mouth for three days, one slice a day. I’ll go get the medicine.” After saying that, Doctor Liu hurriedly went out, but he was stopped by others as soon as he got outside the courtyard and asked about An Shuyi’s injuries.

He was only released after he explained himself and was in a hurry to get his medicine.

"Wood, it's so late now. After Changyuan and the others bring the things over, make your own arrangements and go eat. Shushu is fine here." Xia Hua finished her instructions. "Wu, go and cook some white porridge, and cook it for a while."
