Chapter 186 Burn the Corpse

An Shuyi nodded, "Let's move together. I went to the cellar earlier and saw some women locked up inside. They were probably scared from being abused for so long, so I didn't go down. I just let them come out and leave on their own."

"I wonder if they dare to come out. Sigh, thinking about those women, I wish I could kill all these villagers again."

These women survived; the number of those who did not is unknown.

Xia Hua paused for a moment, then continued dragging the corpse. "There's nothing we can do about it. Women are a vulnerable group, but they still have kind hearts. This was even more true in ancient times. This village is probably just like in the novels, where several brothers share one wife because they are too poor."

"It's just that this village is a bit more cruel. I suppose there were few women in this village before, so everyone shared one wife. Later, when there weren't enough, they brought in women from outside. Such a practice of sharing a wife wasn't a big deal in ancient times."

She had read many novels, including those about brothers sharing a wife, where several men would share one woman. These novels were well-written, and the male and female protagonists lived happily ever after, which she enjoyed reading. But setting aside the fact that it was a novel, if such a thing were real, would any girl be able to accept it?

If the feelings are mutual, that's fine; but if it was taken away, that's a different story.

“You’re right, that’s exactly what that man said. It’s just a pity about those women,” An Shuyi said, wondering if those women would dare to come out.

"Let's not talk about these women, or you'll be filled with sorrow and longing. Hurry up and move the body into the dry well, or it'll get dark and we'll miss dinner." I thought that finding a village would give me a place to rest for the night, but I didn't expect to have to do such hard labor as moving corpses.

"Shushu, next time you sell flowers and plants, keep thinking about the corpse-dissolving water in your mind. Think about it more, and maybe the trading system can get it for you. Or the recipe would also work. That way you can use it to dispose of corpses."

Upon hearing this, An Shuyi stopped moving the corpse. "Huahua, aren't your expectations a bit too high? This thing is made from rape and sex, and even if it is made, it may not be able to completely dissolve the corpse."

Although the trading system is amazing and powerful, the corpse-dissolving water is also amazing and powerful. Does such a thing really exist?

“Shushu,” Xia Hua looked at her, “Don’t underestimate the trading system. It can even get prescriptions for infertility and impotence. As for simple corpse-dissolving water, it’s even easier. Compared to prescriptions for infertility and impotence, corpse-dissolving water is a piece of cake.”

"If you don't believe me, think about it more next time. If once isn't enough, try twice. If twice isn't enough, try ten times. This corpse-dissolving water is essential; otherwise, dealing with corpses is just too much trouble."

Although she didn't want to kill anyone, if someone wanted to kill her, then there would be corpses. A few would be fine, she could just throw them away, but too many would cause viruses to grow over time, and if discovered, the authorities would be notified, which would be a lot of trouble.

An Shuyi had no choice but to nod. "Alright, next time I sell flowers and plants, I'll keep thinking about the corpse-dissolving water." Maybe it's really as Hua Hua said, that corpse-dissolving water can appear, which would save a lot of trouble.

The two threw the bodies into the dry well. To ensure that each body was burned, Xia Hua poured in a lot of oil, then added firewood, and then threw in a lit piece of firewood. The firewood came into contact with the oil below and immediately started to burn.

To prevent the fire from spreading, the two stood at a distance and watched.

Smelling the odor emanating from the dry well, An Shuyi covered her mouth and nose. "Huahua, give me a mask." This smell is too awful.

Xia Hua bought two masks from the mall, handed one to her, and put one on herself. Suddenly, she heard a sound from behind and knew that the women were coming out. She didn't turn around but continued to look at the dry well.

If those women don't want her and Shushu to discover their identities, then she won't look. She just hopes they can go back and live normal lives again.

The fire in the dry well burned until midnight, leaving only bones inside. The two men found buckets, filled them with water, and poured it into the well to cool it down and because they were worried the fire might still be burning. After filling several buckets and seeing no light inside, they left, but only found a relatively clean courtyard to sit in and wait for dawn.

Why didn't they go into the room? Because they thought it was dirty, the smell of burning corpses was too unpleasant, and they had no appetite. So they took two chairs from the warehouse, sat on them, covered themselves with blankets, and went to sleep.

Just as dawn broke, the two were awakened by a noise. They realized it was footsteps coming from outside the courtyard, but they ignored it and continued sitting in their chairs. Only after it was completely light did they put the blankets and chairs into the storeroom before getting up to leave.

As soon as the gate to the courtyard was opened, several women tiptoed away in the distance. Hearing the sound, they turned around in fright and saw that it was An Shuyi and Xia Hua. Although they were not so scared, they did not dare to move.

An Shuyi and Xia Hua acted as if they hadn't seen them at all and left directly, which made the women breathe a sigh of relief and head away.

After leaving, the two continued towards Baiyun City. This section of the road was also a mountain road, but it wasn't a deep mountain, so there were no precious flowers or plants. The two could only concentrate on their journey.

After more than two days, we finally arrived in Baiyun City in the evening. On some flat roads, we took out our bicycles and rode them. We only walked on the bad roads. Otherwise, it might have taken us two days to get to Baiyun City.

Upon entering Baiyun City, they found an inn to stay at. After booking a room, the two decided to stay in Baiyun City for another day and leave the day after tomorrow, so they could look around and buy some food.

After booking the room, the two sat in the lobby of the inn to eat. Although the food wasn't very good, it was still edible. After finishing their meal, they asked the waiter to bring water to their room. After taking a shower, they finally felt at ease and lay down on the bed to sleep.

The night passed quickly. After washing up in the morning, they went to have breakfast. They ate a simple bowl of wontons and bought two more to take with them. Xia Hua's food box already had clean bowls prepared. The owner would cook the wontons and put them in their bowls. Then, they would put their hands into the food box, and the wontons inside would disappear, leaving two empty bowls.

Using this method, the two bought a lot of breakfast: wontons, noodles, porridge, noodle soup, steamed buns, mantou (steamed bread), and meat pies. They bought at least one bowl from each stall, and sometimes four bowls. They would buy ten or twenty steamed buns, mantou, and meat pies if they liked them.

After buying the clothes, the two went to buy more clothes. Although they still had some, they couldn't miss the chance to buy clothes. They went into the clothing store and each bought two dresses and three pairs of embroidered shoes before coming out.

Looking at the pastry shop next door, I went in and found that there were many kinds of pastries. Osmanthus cake, a small piece with many yellow osmanthus flowers on it, Poria cocos cake, crabapple cake, layered cake, rice cake, each one was very small and looked pretty good.
