Chapter 2 Trading Systems

"Don't get the wound wet until it has healed. Come back to see me in a few days," said Dr. Liu as he put his things away.

"Okay, how much money?" An Shuyi held the copper coin in her hand, unsure if it was enough.

"Three hundred coins, I'll give it to you later." Doctor Liu knew about her family's situation and, considering she was a woman, he didn't make things difficult for her.

"Thank you, doctor, but no need, I have enough here." He then took out three hundred coins and handed them over.

"Then I'll be leaving. Remember, don't get it wet," Doctor Liu instructed again.

"Alright, second brother, see Dr. Liu off."

"Sister Lin, I'm relieved to see you're alright. Take good care of yourself and get well soon. I'll head back now; my family is waiting for me to cook dinner!" Madam Qian said, standing up as well.

"Okay, thank you for today, sister-in-law. I won't keep you any longer. Come and sit down again when you have time."

"No need to stay, I'm leaving." After saying that, Madam Qian hurriedly left.

An Shuyi looked at the tightly closed door, knowing that no one would come in without her permission, and then looked at the thing in front of her with peace of mind. It was a screen. She tried to tap it and, to her surprise, it worked.

Just now, when the doctor was applying the medicine, this screen suddenly appeared, which startled her. Seeing that no one else could see it, she didn't make a sound, afraid that others would say she had been beaten into a fool. The original owner's memories also appeared at the same time.

At the top of the screen were the words "Trading System," and down to the left were two words: "Buy" and "Sell." In the bottom right corner was a warehouse. She clicked "Buy," and then the screen changed, showing many grids. She could scroll down, but they were all black, and she couldn't see anything except the first five that were lit up.

The bright areas are pictures, showing rice, flour, salt, mineral water, and meat, with prices below: rice is three coins a pound, flour is the same, salt is twenty coins, mineral water is one coin, and meat is ten coins.

At the top of the screen, there was a balance of 0 on the right and a back arrow on the left. Clicking it brought the screen back to the previous state. This time, she clicked "sell," and the screen changed to show only a large "+" sign, but she couldn't click it.

After a while, she remembered that she didn't have anything to sell. She put her hand on the bedside table, and the plus sign disappeared, turning into a cabinet shape with the words "Twenty coins" written below. It seemed that if she wanted to sell something, she could just put her hand on it and it would show what it was.

The top right side still shows a balance of 0, while the left side returns.

She opened the warehouse, and sure enough, it was empty. Looking at the copper coins she had left, she realized that only the copper coins she earned from selling items inside could be used to buy things there.

She didn't know which world this trading system connected to, but it had such powerful functions. However, with this trading system, her heart was at ease, and she was no longer afraid of not being able to survive in this world.

Knock knock* "Mother, how are you? Are you badly hurt?"

Hearing the sounds coming from outside, An Shuyi knew that her eldest son, who was working away from home, had returned. Thinking of the original owner's seven children, her joy vanished instantly.

I stood up and opened the door.

"Mother, are you alright?" Seeing her come out, the eldest son timidly backed away, almost burying his head in the dirt.

Looking at the other people in the yard, I was surprised to find that everyone was there!

"Boss, go and close the courtyard gate." She didn't know if she would ever return to the modern world. If she could, all would be well. If she couldn't, she would stay in this world in peace. But no matter what, the most important thing now was to teach those rebellious sons a lesson.

"Eldest daughter-in-law, second daughter-in-law, take your children back inside."

"Yes, Mother!" The two daughters-in-law hurriedly returned to the house and looked out the window.

Confused, I wondered what my mother was trying to do.

"Xiao Wu, take Xiao Liu and Xiao Qi back to the house!" Looking at the few thin children carrying baskets, she guessed they had gone to dig for wild vegetables and rushed back after learning that she had been beaten.

"Mother, Huahua doesn't want to, she wants to stay with you," the little girl said timidly.

An Shuyi went over and patted her head. "Huahua, be good. Mommy is busy right now. You can come with Mommy later, okay?" After saying that, she looked at her son next to her and said, "Xiao Wu, take them inside."

Although the voice wasn't loud, the change in tone was still noticeable, and Xiao Wu quickly pulled his younger brother and sister-in-law into the house.

Looking at her remaining sons, she said, "You are all very good, and your mother is proud of you!"

"Mother?" The three brothers looked at her in confusion.

They wondered why their mother was acting differently than before. In the past, when they made mistakes, their mother would ask them if they were wrong and tell them not to make the same mistake again. Why was she different today, saying that they were very good!

An Shuyi ignored them, walked to the wall of the yard, picked up a broom. It was made of more than ten thin bamboo sticks tied together, with small bamboo branches on it. It would definitely hurt if you hit someone with it.

"Mother, you don't need to sweep, I..." The eldest son thought she was going to sweep the floor and tried to take it away, but An Shuyi pushed him away and started hitting her three unfilial sons.

"Ouch, that hurts! Why did you hit me, Mom?" The second son screamed in pain as the broom hit his face.

“I’m going to whip you,” An Shuyi said while whipping you. “I’ve really been too lenient with you guys before, letting you do nothing but steal, rob, and gamble all day long! I feel so sorry for your dead father. Today I’m going to teach you a lesson.”

"Mom, calm down, don't make yourself angry!" After being pushed away, the eldest son could only follow behind and try to persuade her. His mother was really fierce; she kept swinging the broom around, and he couldn't get close to her. He even got hit several times.

Ignoring the eldest son following behind, she looked at the third son who was trying to open the door and hide outside, but she pulled him back. The fourth son covered his head and ran around, crying, "Mom, I'm the fourth son, your most beloved son, please don't hit me, I know I was wrong."

The men were beaten so badly they had nowhere to hide!

"You're not wrong, I'm the one who's wrong. It's my fault for being incompetent and unable to discipline you. I almost got beaten to death by that old woman Li today. I've finally come to terms with it. If you ever dare to steal, rob, or gamble again, I'll chop you up and I can go down to join your father sooner."

After saying that, she threw the broom on the ground. She was exhausted. Her body was too weak. She was only thirty-seven, but she made herself look fifty.

"Mother, you're too cruel. Look what you've done to us." The second son pointed to the injuries on his face, some of which were bleeding.

“That’s right, Mother, you weren’t like this before!” the third son chimed in.

He was the one who got whipped the most; his clothes were all torn to shreds.

"Slap, slap!" An Shuyi went over and slapped several people across the face.

"Don't worry, I can be even more ruthless in the future. You can try if you don't believe me. Don't bring up the past. Your mother was killed by you unfilial sons!"

As An Shuyi spoke, she pointed to her head and said, "See? It's because of you unfilial sons that I've become like this. You don't care about my life or death, and you expect me to protect you? Dream on!"

"Second brother, go chop the firewood. If you don't finish, you won't eat tonight. Third brother, go to the backyard and clear out that patch of land. Fourth brother, go fetch water and fill all the water tanks. Again, if you don't finish tonight, you won't eat!"
