Chapter 3 The Vengeful Best Friend

“Mother…” The group covered their faces, looking at her in disbelief.

"What? Can't you hear me?" As he spoke, he raised his hand again, and the group of people ran away in fright, saying, "We heard you."

Watching them go about their business, An Shuyi looked at her eldest son and said, "Eldest son, go and get that basket of eggs from home. Come with me."

"Okay, Mom!" The eldest son went back to the kitchen to get the eggs, but his wife stopped him.

"Mother, those eggs are meant to be exchanged for money. If you take them, then we...!" Seeing her mother-in-law's increasingly grim expression, Zhao was too frightened to say anything more.

"What? You want to meddle in my old woman's affairs? Or do you think that I, as her mother-in-law, am incapable of making any decisions?"

“Mother, I didn’t…” Zhao Shi dared not say any more.

Just now in the room, she saw her mother-in-law even hit her own son, something that had never happened before. Although she was the daughter-in-law, she didn't dare to retaliate if her mother-in-law hit her.

An Shuyi looked at her, recalling the original owner's memories, and said sternly, "Zhao, don't think I can't see through your tricks. You just don't want to talk about them. If you still want to stay in the Lin family, then behave yourself, or go back to your Zhao family."

"You eat the food of the Lin family, use the things of the Lin family, and now you want to take them back from your Zhao family? There's no such thing as a free lunch! Get up and cook! Don't you dare ask your second son's wife for help!"

“Mother, I still need to look after the child, I don’t have any…” Zhao wanted to say more, but her eldest son tugged at her sleeve.

“Carrying the child on your back? Do you think you can’t even cook after having a child? If you can’t, then go back to your Zhao family and let your mother teach you properly.”

The eldest son pulled Zhao Shi, who was still trying to speak, and said, "What's wrong with you? Quickly apologize to your mother, or you'll be in big trouble." What's wrong with this damned woman today? She even dares to talk back to her mother.

Zhao looked at her husband, whose face was gloomy, and said, "Mother, I was wrong. I'll go cook now." She then hurriedly ran into the kitchen.

"Mom, wait for me a moment, I'm going to get the eggs." The eldest son hurriedly went into the kitchen and came out carrying a basket of eggs.

"Let's go to Aunt Xia's house!" What a nuisance! I didn't pay attention when I first transmigrated here, and I even hit the wrong person. I wonder how Aunt Xia is doing.

This Xia woman is also a pitiful person. Like her, she is a widow, but her husband died earlier. She has two daughters and three sons. The daughters are already married, and the three sons are twenty, eighteen, and sixteen years old. Her husband has been dead for more than ten years. Widow Xia is three years older than her and is now forty.

The eldest son is already married, but he and his wife are quite shrewd. They separated the family property right after getting married, and the house was divided in half. Xia and her two unmarried sons live in the other half. Those two sons are just like her three unfilial sons, idle and good-for-nothing.

An Shuyi and her mother had just reached the entrance of the Li family's courtyard when they encountered Xia's eldest son, who was about to come out.

"Auntie is here, I was just about to look for you! I didn't expect you to come," said Li Dong, Xia's eldest son.

As he spoke, he glanced at the basket in the boss's hand.

"You're here. I'm going to see your mother!" She couldn't be bothered to talk to such a rebellious son; she'd rather go find Madam Xia!

After saying that, he pushed aside Li Dong, who was blocking the doorway.

Following his memory, he walked towards Xia's room. There was no one to take care of him; only Xia was lying there. Seeing that her heart was still beating, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She was genuinely afraid of killing someone, which would make her a murderer and perhaps the first person in history to be imprisoned immediately after time-traveling.

"Sister Xia!" I gently nudged her, and to my surprise, she actually woke up.

bang*

"Ouch, that hurts so much!" An Shuyi fell to the ground and saw Xia Shi putting her foot down. Why did this action seem so familiar?

"Mother, are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?" Lin Laoda hurriedly went over to help her up. Aunt Xia was too fast; before his mother could even speak, she was kicked away. She was so healthy that she didn't seem like someone who was injured.

"It's alright, let Mother sit for a while and calm down!" An Shuyi sat down in a chair, looked at Xia Shi lying on the bed with a guilty expression, and suddenly said, "What a waste!"

"It's all ruined!" Xia said, quickly covering her mouth.

Lin Wenyi and Li Dong looked at their mothers in confusion, neither of them understanding what they were saying.

"Big brother, take the eggs to your aunt in the kitchen. I'll talk to her for a bit. I'll wait outside in the yard after you've put them down!" An Shuyi said.

"Yes, Mother!" Lin Wenyi said, then picked up the basket and left.

"Mom, I'll go outside too. You talk to Auntie!" Li Dong hurriedly left as well.

He couldn't let Lin the eldest put the eggs in his mother's kitchen. If his two brothers saw them, he wouldn't get any. Luckily, his wife wanted to eat eggs these days, so he could take them to her to help her get some nutrition.

After the two eyesores left, Xia Hua hurriedly asked, "Shushu, was that you?"

An Shuyi nodded, "Who else could it be but me? I always said that our ill-fated relationship is something that can't be separated for lifetimes. Now you can rest assured, we can't be separated."

"Hua Hua, I didn't expect you to be as strong as ever! You almost shattered my old bones."

Xia Hua touched her nose guiltily, "Hehe, this is just a conditioned reflex, who knew you would be here."

"By the way, Shushu, when did you travel here? Was it before you hit me? I noticed something was off about your eyes back then."

An Shuyi nodded, "That's when I thought we'd been rescued. But as soon as I woke up, someone slapped me, and my face was covered in blood. I didn't see who it was, so I hit the wrong person. When did you travel here? Before me?"

Xia Hua nodded, "Yes, when I woke up I was still lying in bed. I heard there was a fight outside, so I went out to join in. As soon as I got there, I saw you with your head cracked open. Not long after, you woke up. Your eyes were all wrong then, so I guessed that someone else might have taken your place."

Plus, your face looks a bit like yours now, so I was wondering if it was you and went to check. I didn't expect you to hit me; I'm too weak to even fight back. Now that I'm sure it's you, I'm so glad.

"So it seems you transmigrated before me!" An Shuyi looked at her. "But I have to criticize you, Comrade Hua Hua. It was all your bad idea. Now look what happened, we're both dead, and you've become widows."

"You'd better figure out how to compensate me for my billions, my brand-new sports car, and the new puppy at the company!"

"Want me to kick you back?" Xia Hua glared at her. "Who did I do this for? Wasn't it to give you a chance to get close to that cute puppy? Now he's dead, can you blame me?"

"No wonder I felt wronged! I never expected this to happen. I just started dating my own little puppy, and I drove you in your sports car while letting you sit in the passenger seat! Others don't even get this treatment!"
