Old Qin and Zhao Qide, who were waiting outside for Jiang Ling to get the contract, were startled when they saw Jiang Ling's face contorted with anxiety.
Just as Old Qin was about to ask what was going on, Jiang Ling had already dashed out the door like a whirlwind.
"Why don't you go and see what's going on?" Old Qin had traveled all over the country for many years, and seeing Jiang Ling's appearance just now made him a little flustered.
Zhao Qide, standing beside him, was in no better shape. His face was pale, and his forehead was covered in sweat. His Adam's apple bobbed, and he tentatively asked in a trembling voice, "I...I'll go?"
"Am I supposed to go?" Old Qin rolled his eyes at Zhao Qide, annoyed.
Zhao Qide's Adam's apple bobbed again, and he walked towards the door with his feet and hands moving in the same direction.
Jiang Ling had already rushed to Zhu Langzhong's house. At that moment, Zhu Langzhong was taking someone's pulse. Hearing the door being pushed open with a "bang," he couldn't help but frown.
"Doctor, please take a look at my son!" Jiang Ling, breathless, carried Jiang Yaojie into the house.
Doctor Zhu was also startled by what he saw.
Thanks to the system and Jiang Ling's support, Jiang Yaojie has undergone tremendous changes in the past six months. The sallow-faced, thin bean sprout he used to be is gone forever.
Jiang Ling was carrying Jiang Yaojie, who was almost heavier than her, and it was all thanks to the power of "motherly love" that she was pushing her limits.
Doctor Zhu quickly reached out and, together with Jiang Ling, helped Jiang Yaojie onto the bed. Only then did Jiang Ling realize how tired she was, especially her feet, which were in great pain. Looking down, she saw that she had been in such a hurry when she arrived that the soles of her shoes were worn through.
"Madam, did Yaojie have any other symptoms before he fainted?" Doctor Zhu asked after carefully taking his pulse.
Jiang Ling recalled for a moment and then recounted the story in a rambling manner. Because Jiang Ling was in a state of high tension at the time, her speech was somewhat incoherent.
But at least Doctor Zhu understood the whole story.
He looked at Jiang Ling, whose face was pale, lips were purple, and she was covered in sweat, and comforted her, "Don't worry, Yaojie is fine. It's just a sudden relaxation of his mental state!"
Jiang Ling didn't understand what Doctor Zhu meant at all. She frowned and asked, "What? What does Doctor Zhu mean by that?"
“Significant emotional fluctuations can cause fainting. Don’t worry, I’ll give the child a few acupuncture needles!” With that, Doctor Zhu took out a few silver needles and inserted them into Jiang Yaojie’s head.
A moment later, Jiang Yaojie's eyelids twitched slightly, and he let out a soft groan.
"Yaojie! Yaojie!" When Jiang Ling saw that Jiang Yaojie had reacted, she rushed over and shook Jiang Yaojie's body repeatedly.
"Yaojie's mother, you...you're not doing this right. Don't shake Yaojie too hard!" Doctor Zhu whispered a reminder from the side.
Jiang Ling wiped away her tears and hurriedly jumped up from beside Jiang Yaojie, stepping aside.
"Dr. Zhu...Doctor Zhu, does my Yaojie need some nutritional supplements or tonics like ginseng or lingzhi?" Jiang Ling asked tentatively.
At this moment, Jiang Ling was also somewhat surprised, wondering when she had truly entered the role of "mother".
Doctor Zhu was amused by Jiang Ling's words, but he still coughed lightly and said seriously, "That won't be necessary. Yaojie is young, and too much supplementation would be counterproductive!"
Jiang Ling nodded, her eyes fixed on Jiang Yaojie like branding irons.
About fifteen minutes later, Jiang Yaojie slowly woke up. His face was pale and his voice was hoarse as he called out, "Mother."
With just that simple sound, Jiang Ling felt a pang of sadness, and tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
Jiang Ling quickly turned around, wiped away her tears, and forced a smile to comfort her, "Yaojie, are you feeling better? Is there anything else that's bothering you?"
Jiang Yaojie shook his head and smiled at Jiang Ling, saying, "Mother, I'm sorry to have worried you!"
"Silly child, what are you saying? I'll go call Doctor Zhu. You rest here for a bit!" Jiang Ling continued to comfort him.
After a thorough examination by Dr. Zhu, Jiang Ling breathed a sigh of relief and led Jiang Yaojie toward her home.
As soon as the two stepped out of Zhu Langzhong's house, Zhang Qide's conflicted expression came into Jiang Ling's view.
"Mr. Zhang, what's this?" Jiang Ling asked, frowning as she led Jiang Yaojie to Zhang Qide.
Zhang Qide seemed to be thinking about something and didn't notice Jiang Ling's appearance. Instead, he was startled by Jiang Ling's arrival.
"Ah, you...you're out? Is Boss Jiang alright?" Zhang Qide asked after thinking for a while.
Jiang Yaojie nodded somewhat embarrassedly, while Jiang Ling glanced at Zhang Qide but said nothing.
The three of them returned to Jiang Ling's home.
Jiang Ling told Jiang Yaojie to go back to his room to rest, while she drafted a new contract, making two copies, and handed one copy to Old Qin.
Old Qin glanced at the contract briefly, then looked up and asked, "How will you avoid the situation from last time this time?"
Jiang Ling pointed to the ink beside her and said, "This ink contains seashell powder and crushed pearl powder. When you sign your name with this ink, it will sparkle in the sunlight."
"This kind of thing is too expensive, and even if some people want to imitate it, they will be deterred!"
After hearing Jiang Ling's explanation, Qin Lao immediately developed a strong interest in ink. He carefully picked up the inkstone and examined it closely under the sunlight.
He then immediately smiled and said, "That's a good idea! Jiang, you're so clever..."
"I'm not selling this secret recipe! Mr. Qin, please take a close look at the contract. If there are no problems, please sign it! You saw what happened to my son earlier, so I won't ask you to stay for lunch!" Jiang Ling refused outright.
