Chapter 74 The Yun Family Takes Charge

Everyone was immediately stunned by the decisive and ruthless aura emanating from Yunye.

The man who had spoken earlier dared not be presumptuous again, muttering under his breath, "Can't I even offer a suggestion? This bandit stronghold isn't your Yun family's territory, is it?"

Yunye is a martial artist with excellent hearing.

"No way! This place was captured by my Yun family's four hundred secret guards. If anyone speaks again, I will have my guards throw your entire family out of here. This place is now under the Yun family's control!"

The scene was as if it had been paused; it was completely silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Yunye's tough stance deterred anyone from being the first to speak out.

Finally, Yunye took out a map of the village and a list of the people who participated in the attack on the bandit village. They were assigned to the villages according to the number of family members, in good locations, close to the well, and with spacious houses.

The houses allocated to the few gossipy families in the village were not so good.

Without comparison, there is no harm. There was a woman who was oblivious to her own mortality. When she saw Lin Tiezhuang's house, she saw that it was a widowed mother with her eldest daughter-in-law and five children living in a large courtyard with a well in the middle.

Looking at my own house, it's short, dilapidated, and has a strange smell. If I actually moved in, I'd be afraid it might collapse at night and crush me to death.

"That's fair. Why not distribute it per household?"

When killing the bandits, Yun Er admired Lin Tiezhuang immensely, and despite being terrified, he charged forward without hesitation.

His narrow eyes narrowed slightly, and he gave a sly smile. "When we attacked the stronghold, Lin Tiezhuang was at the forefront. He killed three bandits and got a cut on his leg." He then changed the subject and continued, "Let me ask you, where was your man then?"

The woman blushed as her thoughts were seen through. The two of them had been up until midnight the night before, while her husband had been catching up on sleep in the tent.

A woman who lived nearby couldn't help but spit out, "You shameless old hag, how dare you say that here?"

Lin Yinan's family was assigned to the house next to Yun's. Grandma Zhao brought Liu Ji and his sister along, and they were to sleep with the other children.

After the houses were allocated, Yun family guards led the villagers to their assigned houses.

Yunye ordered that anyone who made a disturbance should be thrown out of the village.

With that, the housing allocation process came to a close.

Those wounded who are recuperating in the council chamber can go home on their own if they are able to move, while those who are unable to move can continue to recuperate in the council chamber.

The food expenses for the wounded were deducted from the accounts.

As for the items left behind by the bandits in the house, from small items like needles and thread to large items like pots and pans, the Yun family's secret guards have registered and collected them all, and villagers who need them can exchange them.

Lin Yinan's house is located on a hillside, right above the council hall. It is spacious, bright, and well-lit. There is also a small courtyard outside the house with a well.

This mansion was probably once the residence of a bandit leader.

Lin Shuo unloaded the cart and carried it up, while Lin Yiheng, along with Lin Fu and Lin Yizhang, carried the things inside.

Lin Yinan's left hand was injured and she couldn't move it, so she and Lin Yirong led the horse and cow into the yard.

The Qianxia sisters and Zhang Shi were cleaning the house, while Li Shulan took a rag, filled it with water, and wiped the pits and tables in the four rooms.

Their family and the Liu Ji siblings were allocated four rooms.

Qianxia carried Lin Yinan and her own belongings into the house, and she and her sister slept in the same room with Lin Yinan and Liu Yu.

The house directly opposite theirs, with its doors and windows tightly shut, is the main house of this courtyard.

"Girl, who do you think lives in that main house across the street?"

Liu Yu peeked out through the crack in the window and said to Ba Gua, "I haven't seen anyone come to clean."

Just then, a noisy commotion came from outside the courtyard. Qianxia and Liuyu exchanged a glance, and Liuyu stuck out her tongue, "It seems that you really can't talk about people behind their backs."

Lin Yinan peeked out the window and saw Yunmu leading three or four bodyguards, each carrying a large bag or two, into the courtyard.

Yunmu spotted Lin Yinan in the window at a glance, her voice filled with joy, "Yinan, you live here?"

Lin Yinan smiled politely, "Yes, Aunt Yun, do you live here too?"

It turned out that the house next door was where the Yun family lived.

Hearing her words, Yunmu's smile deepened. "It wasn't me, it was Mo'er and his subordinates." Glancing at the bright-eyed, beautiful, and ethereal young woman, she continued, "You know, he has a lot of people under him and he's very busy. If I don't take care of them, they'll be sleeping in the pigsty when they're tired."

After saying that, she glanced at Lin Yinan across from her with satisfaction. Mo'er had finally come to her senses, and she, as her mother, was very pleased.

She pushed open the door, directing the guards to clean and tidy up while chatting happily with Lin Yinan.

The guards were numerous and quick, and they tidied up the room in no time.

Yunmu glanced disapprovingly at the few unfeeling pieces of wood, sighing inwardly. She really liked this pretty little girl more and more the more she looked at her, and wished her son could marry her tomorrow.

Although the young girl was engaged, Madam Zhu always found fault with her, believing that the marriage between their two families would not happen sooner or later.

No, she had to keep a close eye on the little girl for that blockhead Mo'er.

As Yunmu came out of the courtyard, she bumped into Yun Er, who was carrying a large bag of things.

Yun Er's eyes lit up, and he hurriedly stepped forward to claim credit, "Madam, what do you think of the courtyard I chose?"

"You chose it?" Yunmu asked in surprise, her tone revealing disappointment. She had thought her son had finally come to his senses.

Yun Er was well aware of her thoughts, and quickly leaned closer to whisper, "Madam, we'll be staying here for a long time. Master has taken a liking to Miss Lin, so this is a rare opportunity. I've been keeping an eye on things."
