Chapter 112 Night Raid on the Murong Manor

The first half of the night was calm and uneventful, no different from any other day. After receiving treatment, Qiu Kongkong gradually fell into a peaceful sleep as the night deepened.

The two people guarding the hospital bed were both drowsy until the needle returned blood. Qiu Kongkong closed his eyes and groaned softly in pain, which startled Lan Yamei awake.

Qiu Kongkong, who had been in stable condition, now had a livid face, bluish lips, and was groaning in a daze.

He was clearly trying to detoxify, but it seemed like he had been poisoned again. He hurriedly shook Zhao Zhicheng awake, "It seems like the poison has flared up again."

"Damn it! It was clearly stable, how could this be?" Zhao Zhicheng was completely baffled. Ancient methods of using poison were sophisticated, and it wasn't unheard of to find an antidote. Back in the day, the Asura Dojo had saved countless people, including many who had been poisoned, and they had never failed.

"No one has been here, has anyone?" Zhao Zhicheng asked doubtfully.

"It's just you and me, no one else." Lan Yamei had already set a trap, and the two of them stayed by the bedside without leaving for a moment, so there was absolutely no possibility of poisoning them a second time.

"Could it be poisoning?" Zhao Zhicheng wondered.

Lan Ya Mei looked completely bewildered.

Zhao Zhicheng explained simply, "Treating the first poison in a poisoned person will indirectly trigger the second poison. I've read about it in the 'Anthology of Ancient Chinese Literature,' but I've never done it myself, so I'm not 100% sure. I don't know if there's a third poison."

Lan Yamei looked anxious. Suddenly remembering the medicine Aunt Guan had given her, she took it out and handed it to Zhao Zhicheng, saying, "This is the antidote pill Aunt Guan gave me. Quickly give it to him. I'll go get some water. You take care of the bleeding first."

Having observed the clinic extensively today, Zhao Zhicheng held Guan Da Niang in the highest esteem. Therefore, he had no doubts when the pill was presented. Sure enough, less than fifteen minutes after taking it, Qiu Kongkong's complexion improved, her breathing became steady, and she was detoxified. The two breathed a sigh of relief.

Dawn would break in two hours, and Lan Yamei had to hurry out to run errands. She pulled out a stun gun and handed it to Zhao Zhicheng. "Qiu Zeyu should be back soon. I have something important to do and have to go out. I'll be right back. Take this for self-defense. Animal traps have been set up at all the entrances, so it's safe here."

I promised Ling'er I'd sneak into the Murong residence tonight to retrieve the luminous pearl, and we'd set off tomorrow morning; it has to be done tonight.

She wanted to ride a horse, but the clattering hooves would easily attract attention, and Qiu Zeyu wasn't with her tonight, so it was better to be sneaky. When she saw that no one was around, Lan Yamei took out a balance bike, stepped on it as if flying on a sword, and silently sped towards the Murong residence.

The figure had just disappeared into the darkness when a man in black, who was guarding the roof, saw it and was so frightened that his legs went weak, and he accidentally stepped on and broke a piece of tile.

"Who's there?" Zhao Zhicheng heard the noise, looked up and shouted, while holding the stun gun and bravely walked out of the room.

Realizing he had been exposed, the man in black leaped off the roof and disappeared into the night.

The man in black was none other than Guan Hu's henchman.

Upon seeing the boss, he stumbled and reported, "Tiger! That woman can fly! She left the barbecue restaurant."

"It's perfectly normal for it to fly! What's the big deal?" Guan Hu said casually, sipping the cherry wine Liu Jianping had given him.

Now that Manager Hua's good fortune is about to come true, it won't be long before he too rises to prominence. After years of lying low, his day has finally come. Guan Hu is in a good mood. He took another sip of his drink before slowly asking, "Where did she go?"

"I didn't follow."

"Damn it! Why didn't you follow?" Guan Hu scolded, then slammed down his wine glass and began to scheme in his mind.

"She can fly, I... I'm no match for her." The underling gritted his teeth and spoke his mind. They were all just trying to make a living, not looking to die. If he predicted they couldn't win, he should have come back and reported immediately.

Guan Hu listened this time! The other side can fly!

Although I'm not a renowned figure in the martial arts world, I'm still quite skilled, more than capable of handling a mediocre martial arts enthusiast. It seems he underestimated his opponent; the other party was playing dumb, hiding their true strength. So he asked again carefully before saying, "Since they're so powerful, I'll go and test my skills!"

After escorting the two home, Qiu Zeyu didn't leave. He quietly rested on the roof ridge. As dawn broke, there wasn't a sound. He then turned over and began to think.

Is Master Wu Tongling really a Japanese?

The two brothers were young when they began learning swordsmanship from their master, and they blindly admired him without giving it much thought. They believed whatever their master said, only noting that he was not very kind, never played with his disciples, and always had a stern face, making him unapproachable. However, he was very strict with the two brothers, so in just one year, the two brothers mastered his true skills.

My master was used to sitting cross-legged on the ground and keeping his distance from people, and now he has indeed faked his death. Looking back on these circumstances, there are indeed many suspicious points.

Suddenly, Qiu Zeyu thought of something, deliberately stood up, yawned, jumped to the ground, and wobbled home to sleep.

Murong Mansion.

As night deepened, the manor remained quiet. Because of Murong Bai, the people in the manor had no time to pay attention to outside news these past two days; they were all eagerly hoping that the eldest young master would recover quickly and that the master would have a smile on his face again.

In another hour or so, the maids who prepare breakfast in the mansion will be up. Lan Yamei quickly put away her balance bike, found the dog hole she had spotted in the mansion a few days ago, and nimbly crawled inside.

If your skills aren't up to par, what's there to be afraid of? As long as the task is accomplished, that's all that matters.

They bypassed the patrolling guards in the mansion and went straight to Pei Feiyan's former courtyard.

Bathed in moonlight, the place has completely transformed. Just a few days ago, it was surrounded by red bricks, green tiles, and artificial hills; now it has become a large garden, where crickets of late autumn chirp sparsely.

Without a moment to lament, he headed straight for the tree Ling'er had mentioned, pulled out a short knife from his pocket, and began digging rapidly.

They dug in several places but found nothing. As the patrol team drew closer, he rolled on the spot and lay flat under a row of tall flowers and plants, thus avoiding being discovered.

Once everyone had gone far away, he scrambled to his feet and continued digging.

Finally, the tip of the knife struck something hard. Overjoyed, she pulled out a cloth bag and, sure enough, found the luminous pearl inside. Lan Yamei tucked it into her bosom and prepared to return the way she came.

At this moment, the patrol didn't arrive, but Murong Feng did. He was accompanied by a hunched man who spoke in a masculine tone. The two hurriedly entered a secluded house, and Murong Feng glanced outside twice before quickly closing the door.

This piqued Lan Ya Mei's curiosity!

When has Murong Feng ever acted suspiciously? Thinking this, he stealthily approached the window of the house.

The dim candlelight quickly cast shadows of the two whispering secrets on the window. She couldn't hear what they were saying, but the short man made a throat-slitting gesture at his neck. Lan Ya Mei saw it clearly and retreated in fright.

She wondered what their relationship was, and who they were going to kill. She quickly and stealthily slipped out through the dog hole.

Seeing that no one was around, he rode his balance bike straight to the clinic.

Unfortunately, before they had gone five miles, they encountered a handsome old man being attacked by several people, and he was at a disadvantage on all sides. Overwhelmed with sympathy, they put away the luminous pearl, shouted, "Let him go!" and rushed out.
