Chapter 60 Picking Mulberries, Reuniting with Yin Xiuyun

"Then we'll do some of that too."

An Wanwan said with a smile.

Having bought mulberry leaves before, An Wanwan and her friends now know where there are many mulberry trees.

The next day.

An Wanwan, An Miaomiao, and An Ke took a rented oxcart to Zhangjia'ao. Zhangjia'ao is located south of Qingyun Town; it takes a little over an hour to walk there from the south gate.

Zhangjia'ao is surrounded by small hills, and the mulberry trees in their village are all planted on these small hills.

Their village raises silkworms every year, and they do quite well, so they have planted a lot of mulberry trees.

at the same time.

Their village also sells mulberries; people can pick them themselves or buy them from the villagers.

It's cheaper to pick them yourself, only four coins per pound.

After wandering around for a while, An Wanwan and her friends saw that all the mulberries looked pretty much the same, so they just randomly picked one from someone's yard.

As soon as you enter the field, you can see mulberries everywhere, green, red, purplish-black, big and small, covering the treetops.

I tried one.

An Miaomiao cried out, "Wanwan, Wanwan, it's so delicious and sweet! Come and pick one to try!"

An Ke smiled indulgently and said, "You say I'm a foodie? I think you're just as much."

"I'm a foodie and I'm proud of it."

An Miaomiao picked one and fed it to An Wanwan.

An Wanwan also found it sweet after tasting it.

Upon learning that they wanted a lot, the head of the household, Yin Dezhi, asked them if they wanted help picking the fruit.

An Wanwan thought for a moment and nodded.

They picked until noon.

An Wanwan and her group picked a total of 45 jin (22.5 kg).

Seeing how much they had picked, Yin Dezhi not only gave them five jin (2.5 kg) of the fruit, but also invited them to stay at his house for lunch before they went home.

"This is not right."

An Wanwan originally didn't want to stay.

Yin Dezhi and his wife Jiang were very hospitable, and in the end, they stayed for lunch.

An Wanwan and the others didn't just wait to eat; they helped with the cooking.

Jiang brought out the cured fish and cured meat from her home to serve them, and also stir-fried a dish of chives and eggs, a dish of stir-fried greens, and a dish of cold shredded radish.

It wasn't long after it was cooked.

They were getting ready to invite An Wanwan and the others to eat.

A loud male voice came from outside the gate: "Third Uncle, are you home?"

"My nephew is here. You all eat first, I'll be there in a bit."

Yin Dezhi got up and walked out.

Seeing his third uncle come out, Yin Xiuyun handed him the money he had prepared: "Third Uncle, Brother Yang and the others are too busy to come back these two days. This is the money they asked me to bring to you."

Yin Dezhi pursed his lips and took the question.

Have you eaten?

Yin Xiuyun replied, "I ate it."

"Eat some more after you've already eaten."

Yin Dezhi pulled him inside.

As soon as they went inside, An Miaomiao recognized him.

Yin Xiuyun recognized her too: "It's you, miss. Did I make you angry the other day? I..."

"Shut up!"

An Miaomiao stopped him from continuing.

An Wanwan raised an eyebrow: "Young master, do you know my sister?"

Yin Xiuyun was about to reply.

An Miaomiao opened her mouth and said, "We've met once, but we're not very close. Okay, everyone, hurry up and start eating. I'm so hungry, I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now."

Anke couldn't bear to watch anymore.

Yin Dezhi and the others burst into laughter.

Anke said apologetically, "I'm sorry to have made you laugh. My sister doesn't have any other hobbies except eating."

"That's good, being able to eat is a blessing."

Yin Dezhi said from the bottom of his heart.

He hadn't spent much time with them, but he thought they were all pretty nice.

After lunch.

An Miaomiao refused to stay any longer, paid the money, and called An Wanwan and the others to leave.

On the way back.

An Wanwan, ever the gossip, asked her, "Miaomiao, you and that Yin Xiuyun, you two..."

An Miaomiao, afraid that An Wanwan would overthink things, said very quickly, "Nothing happened, nothing happened!"
