Chapter 15 Knowing Full Well

Jing Weiyang sat down next to Shen Yu, her body stiff as a corpse.

The private room was dimly lit and ambiguous. Apart from Lan Yu, no one else recognized that this was the newly appointed Crown Princess Shen.

I was just a little surprised that a woman was sitting next to Prince Shen today.

Some people looked over curiously, but quickly looked away, after all, Young Master Shen was not someone that anyone could mess with.

Chai Zhizi ran away almost as soon as Jing Weiyang sat down, betraying her teammate with remarkable efficiency.

There was no way around it; although her family was also part of the wealthy elite in Beijing, they were still far inferior to the Shen family.

The music in the private room was deafening, and some people were playing dice and drinking heavily, indulging in a life of debauchery.

On the other side, however, the atmosphere was awkwardly quiet.

Jing Weiyang clenched her fists tightly, her heart filled with trepidation and panic, like a criminal awaiting sentencing, enduring the most difficult time of waiting.

She really didn't know what to say. The girl who was supposed to be a fairy turned into a nightclub queen. Even if she were the male lead, she couldn't accept it.

Shen Yu didn't say anything, only his beautiful peach blossom eyes scrutinized the woman beside him who was clearly dressed up carefully.

Ah, his "little white rabbit" wife.

The atmosphere between the two was so strange that even Lan Yu, sitting to the side, felt extremely uncomfortable. He poured himself a drink and tried to smooth things over.

"Come on, sister-in-law, have a drink to quench your thirst!"

"Thank you, thank you,"

Jing Weiyang paused for a moment, then took it and drank it naturally. As the cool liquid slid down her throat, she felt a moment of relief.

Then, the next moment, a low chuckle was heard from the man: "Didn't you say you couldn't drink alcohol?"

"Whoosh~" The first arrow,

Jing Weiyang froze instantly, like a scarecrow struck right in the heart. She remembered the lie she told on her wedding night to avoid drinking.

Not only her, but Lan Yu also remembered.

"Ha, I'm going to go gamble with them a couple of times, sister-in-law, you guys have fun!"

He got up and practically fled.

Jing Weiyang turned around stiffly, her smile frozen: "Honey, would you believe me if I said I just learned it?"

Shen Yu didn't speak, only stared at her with a smile. That smile was breathtakingly beautiful, and it sent chills down Jing Weiyang's spine, making her feel as if her soul had left her body.

No matter how she looked at it, she felt that this man had ill intentions.

Jing Weiyang gripped the shawl with her slender white fingers, tightening and loosening them repeatedly, finally deciding to strike first:

"Honey, didn't you go abroad?"

With delicate eyebrows, fragrant cheeks, and almond-shaped eyes, when she smiles at you, it's as if spring flowers are blooming and ice is melting.

Shen Yu was stunned by her smile, and vaguely recalled the look in the girl's eyes when they first met.

He then laughed and said, "Yes, he was originally going to leave, but Chu Heng had just finished his work, so we let him go."

Jing Weiyang knew Chu Heng; he was the male lead's all-around assistant, his right-hand man at work, and a highly capable subordinate with top-notch business skills. In the original story, the female lead was able to overcome several crises thanks to his ability to handle them, ultimately turning public opinion around and winning over fans.

In "The Pampered Marriage of the Prosperous Age", he is the second most popular supporting character after his childhood sweetheart.

Jing Weiyang was still in a daze when she heard the man's clear, pleasant voice, tinged with a hint of melancholy, ring out:

"I originally wanted to go home, but I was afraid I would bother you..."

"Whoosh!" The second arrow pierced his heart.

Jing Weiyang snapped back to reality instantly, both of them knowing perfectly well what they had disturbed.
