It's fine to sit in on the class; she happens to be interested in the teaching techniques of that era, which might even differ from those taught by teachers in later generations.
In retrospect, their teachers were all incredibly eccentric.
A professor once said directly in a public lecture: "Those who study art have wildly imaginative minds, and those who succeed are more or less a little crazy."
Although she wanted to tell them not to limit their thinking, she was still shocked by this statement at the time.
After finishing her cake, Li Shuhe dragged Xu Ruantang to accompany her to the restroom.
As Xu Ruantang walked, she asked, "So, if you're staying here to take care of the patient at night, how will you go to the toilet?"
“Hold it in!” Li Shuhe answered without hesitation for a second.
Xu Ruantang: "......"
Once inside the restroom, Li Shuhe kept chatting with her, and Xu Ruantang had to keep responding, saying she would be scared if there was no sound.
As soon as the two stepped out of the restroom, a woman walked towards them, and Xu Ruantang almost bumped into her.
Before she could even lift her head, she quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, are you alright?"
Li Shuhe, whose hands were still wet, grabbed Xu Ruantang's arm and squeezed it so hard it hurt.
Xu Ruantang glanced at Li Shuhe and realized that Li Shuhe's gaze wasn't on her at all; she was staring at the woman beside her.
The woman turned to the side and said politely, "I'm fine, it's okay."
Xu Ruantang looked up and saw that face, and her smile immediately vanished.
Isn't this... isn't this Wang Xiuxiu?
Although she has lost a little weight, the change is not significant.
Wang Xiuxiu didn't linger; she bypassed Xu Ruantang and went straight into the restroom.
Li Shuhe pulled Xu Ruantang along, walking briskly until they returned to the ward before daring to breathe heavily.
"My goodness, her eyes are a little scary," Li Shuhe exclaimed as she plopped down on the floor.
Xu Ruantang also found it strange; it was clearly the same person, yet it didn't seem like the same person.
Besides, how could Wang Xiuxiu not react at all when she saw her, and speak to her so politely and courteously?
Seeing the two of them looking like they'd seen a ghost, Li Shuyang chuckled and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Guess who we just ran into?" Li Shuhe asked mysteriously. "Wang Xiuxiu! Lu Shishen's wife!"
Li Shuyang looked puzzled: "What's wrong with Wang Xiuxiu?"
Only after he finished speaking did he remember what had happened before.
Lu Shishen said last time that Wang Xiuxiu was still in a coma and it was uncertain whether she would wake up.
"She's awake?" Li Shuyang asked. "So what if she's awake? What's so strange about that?"
It's true that women and men can't seem to connect.
Xu Ruantang turned to look at Chen Ji, who also remained calm, showing no sign of gossip.
Xu Ruantang whispered to Li Shuhe for a while before Chen Ji dragged her away.
She didn't want to leave, mainly because gossiping is a woman's nature, especially when it's with like-minded people.
The two even made a bet.
Let's bet on whether Lu Shishen and Wang Xiuxiu will get a divorce.
Xu Ruantang is bound to gamble, if her guess is correct.
Before she even left the hospital building, Xu Ruantang spotted two people standing not far away.
The man was tall and was wearing a military uniform.
Standing opposite him was none other than Wang Xiuxiu, whom he had just met in the restroom.
Chen Ji paid no attention and walked towards the gate, with Xu Ruantang quickly following behind.
Her gaze remained fixed on the two people not far away, who seemed to be arguing. However, unlike usual, Wang Xiuxiu didn't say much this time; Lu Shishen did most of the talking.
As they drew closer, Wang Xiuxiu's slightly angry voice came through: "I already said it wasn't me. He fell by accident, and I just went to help him up."
Wang Xiuxiu looked like she had a headache, and rubbed her forehead. "Lu Shishen, if you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do. It's up to you."
"You!" Lu Shishen's eyes were like ice as he looked at Wang Xiuxiu. "You'd better behave yourself and go back once you're healed!"
Lu Shishen was furious and didn't notice Chen Ji and Xu Ruantang walking over. After saying that, he left.
Wang Xiuxiu frowned, and only after he left did she turn around and see Xu Ruantang.
But she only glanced at it, then quickly looked away and walked into the hospital.
That look in his eyes didn't seem like he didn't know her, but it was like he knew her yet was a stranger to her, with a strange sense of familiarity.
Xu Ruantang stood still, and Chen Ji stopped and waited for her. "Still thinking?"
Chen Ji naturally knew what she was thinking. "Instead of worrying about other people's family affairs, you should think about what to cook tomorrow."
Xu Ruantang: "......"
Chen Ji knew how to ruin the atmosphere.
Speculation is speculation, but no one can say such things, not even Chen Ji.
Xu Ruantang was tormented by this feeling, feeling a sense of helplessness as if she knew a hundred pieces of gossip but had no one to tell.
She clung to Chen Ji's waist the whole way, lying silently on his back.
Chen Ji took her home on his motorcycle and rode directly into the yard.
After getting out of the car, Xu Ruantang asked, "Aren't you going to return the car?"
"Our car."
Chen Ji reached out and ruffled Xu Ruantang's hair.
So she asked Chen Ji to buy it, saying it would be a good way to take her for a drive, and Chen Ji bought it.
"That's great. Then take me on a trip when you're on vacation."
Xu Ruantang said with a grin.
Chen Ji nodded, "Okay, I'll pick you up and drop you off every day from now on."
"No need, I'll go to the shop at ten o'clock, I'll just come back early in the afternoon." Xu Ruantang waved her hand dismissively and went into the house.
She didn't like it that way; if Chen Ji drove her around every day, it would inevitably affect his work.
