Chapter 98 Question

When Wen Ruan returned to her dormitory, she quickly put her things down and ran to the balcony to see if Song Yan had already left.

Sure enough, Song Yan was still standing downstairs, looking up repeatedly, seemingly searching for the location of Wen Ruan's dormitory.

Wen Ruan poked her head out, stretched out her hand, and waved repeatedly.

Song Yan's gaze quickly locked onto Wen Ruan's location. The two smiled at each other from a distance.

Afterwards, Wen Ruan waved to Song Yan, signaling him to hurry home, as the sun was about to set and the temperature was getting lower and lower, lest he catch a cold.

......

After Song Yan left, Wen Ruan began to organize the things she had brought back. Seeing that it was almost time, she called Zhao Xiaoyan to go to the library to pick up Zhou Wen, Wu Wenqian, and Song Ge.

Just as I finished packing and was about to leave, Dong Ya also came in with bags and packages, which contained food and other necessities she had brought from home.

After Wen Ruan told Dong Ya about her and Zhao Xiaoyan's plans to go out, Dong Ya said she would go with them.

There are six people in this dormitory. Only she and Wen Ruan are from Beijing, so they can go home on weekends to improve their meals. The roommates are all nice people.

So she had the same idea as Wen Ruan, and spent two days at home on the weekend preparing to bring some food to improve the meals of her roommates who lived far away.

The three of them went to the library together, to the spot they often frequented in their dorm room.

It was dinnertime, and the library was relatively empty. Wu Wenqian, with her sharp eyes, spotted the three people first.

He kicked Song Ge and Zhou Wen, which made Song Ge glare at him angrily.

Wu Wenqian pointed to the door, indicating that the two should look to the left.

The three walked over quietly, their voices low. Wen Ruan said, "It's getting late. Let's pack up and go back to the dorm for dinner. Dong Ya and I both brought a lot of things from home."

The students in the dormitory all studied very hard, and even the delicate Song Ge never complained about it.

The group had reached a tacit understanding: "With so many people at mealtimes, I can memorize several words while waiting in line!"

More than a week into the semester, the group of students waited until the cafeteria was less crowded before getting their meals.

Gradually, the cafeteria auntie got to know the six people. After all, these people had very special appearances and always came to eat at certain times. In addition, she already knew Dong Ya, as she had eaten at the Tsinghua University cafeteria many times with Dong Shuangqun before.

When he learned that the group was eating so late every day because they were studying in the library, he felt very sorry for them and even asked if they needed him to leave some food for them in advance so that he could keep it warm in the pot.

After all, by the time dinner time is over, there's not much food left in the cafeteria, and it gets a bit chilly.

The group felt it was too much trouble for the auntie, expressed their gratitude, and then shook their heads to decline. They were also worried that something might come up and they might not be able to go to the cafeteria for dinner, thus "standing up" the auntie and letting her down.

But afterwards, whenever the dorm mates went to the cafeteria for food, the cafeteria lady would recognize them and give them a few extra spoonfuls in their lunchboxes...

After returning to their dormitory from the library, Wen Ruan and Dong Ya took out a lot of food from the bags they had brought from home.

The pickled vegetables and braised meat made by Wen's mother; the pastries that Song's mother had learned from Wen Ruan before; the baked buns that Dong Ya made when she went home on the weekend; and the pickled vegetables made at home.

Song Ge and Wu Wenqian went to the school store and bought six bottles of orange soda. The six girls ate until they were stuffed, and the whole dormitory was filled with laughter...

Another new week is about to begin. The new students are relatively familiar with the school environment and teachers, and they are starting to engage in busy studies.

On Mondays, Wen Ruan has an 8 a.m. class that she dreads. Although she is forced to get up early every day in the dormitory, the weather is still quite cold in the March mornings. Leaving Wen Ruan's dormitory still makes her feel very miserable.

However, the first class was on diplomacy, and Professor Lin Qingyou, who taught the course, was very strict. In the first class last week, he assigned a lot of books for everyone to read, saying that he would ask questions during each class.

As soon as class ended, Wen Ruan, Dong Ya, and Zhao Xiaoyan rushed to the library to borrow the books on Professor Lin's list. Luckily, they managed to borrow all of them.

So last week, including the weekend when Wen Ruan was home for the holidays, she buried herself in her studies. Professor Lin was a very serious old man, and every time she saw his furrowed brows, Wen Ruan felt a little nervous.

I'm terrified of being called on in class, because if I can't answer, I feel incredibly embarrassed.

But Murphy's Law always seems to come true: the more you worry about something happening, the more likely it is to happen...

"Wen Ruan, you're the top scorer in this year's college entrance examination, right? Come on, let me ask you what books you read after you went back from the last class?" Professor Lin wore glasses with black frames, which made him look even more serious.

One of the temples of his glasses appeared to be broken off, wrapped with thick black thread, and placed over his ear. He locked his gaze on Wen Ruan, his eyes somewhat sharp.

The title of top scorer in the college entrance examination is indeed glorious, but at Tsinghua University, the nation's top university, where there are many top scorers, it seems somewhat ordinary. However, there is only one national top scorer each year, especially the first batch of students since the resumption of the college entrance examination, which all teachers attach great importance to.

Every time she introduced herself, the teacher in that class would pay attention to her and ask her some questions.

Wen Ruan was initially a little annoyed. She used to be just an ordinary, mediocre student. She only got this title because she had the advantage of being a transmigrator and made preparations in advance.
