Chapter 198 Rather than hitting a child, teach her how to protect herself

When Luo Yan got home after her short break, she had just finished showering and changed into clean clothes.

Aunt Shi saw that Xiao Xiu was covered in mud and urged him to go wash up quickly.

Luo Shicheng, who had been sleeping all day, was startled awake when he went back to his room to get some clean clothes. He decided to get up and go downstairs.

As soon as Luo Shicheng stepped out of the room, Luo Yan grabbed his leg.

"dad……"

Luo Shicheng lowered his eyes to look at Luo Yan, his face darkening.

"What are you planning to do now?"

Luo Yan wouldn't be so clingy with him unless she needed something from him; Luo Shicheng was very clear about his position.

Luo Yan, sometimes it's not good to be too clear-headed; it's necessary to be occasionally oblivious.

"Catch pheasants..."

Luo Shicheng bent down and picked up Luo Yan. "Want to go into the mountains to catch wild game?"

Luo Yan nodded.

"You're taking the college entrance exam without studying?" Luo Shicheng asked jokingly.

"It doesn't matter."

Luo Yan was full of confidence; the little time she lost in the mountains would not affect her knowledge base.

Luo Shicheng apologized, "Dad has something to do tomorrow, how about Dad takes you into the mountains the day after tomorrow?"

"Okay..." Anyway, she won't have any problems going into the mountains by herself, and she won't take her dad with her since he's busy.

It was rare for Luo Yan to be so obedient, so Luo Shicheng smiled and gently pinched Luo Yan's little nose.

Aunt Shi heard Luo Shicheng's voice and came over to ask him if he wanted to eat something to fill his stomach first.

Luo Shicheng was indeed hungry after sleeping all day, so he nodded and asked Aunt Shi to heat up his food.

Suddenly, two little devils ran in from outside, dropped their bamboo baskets and ran away, but Luo Shicheng quickly grabbed them by the collar and pulled them back.

Luo Shicheng examined the two bamboo baskets. One contained two packets of tea and two packets of mung bean cakes, while the other was filled with fresh vegetables. He frowned and asked Yang Tie and Leng Jian.

"Who sent you to deliver this?"

He wasn't close enough to Yang Daocheng and Leng Zhanguo to make them spend so much money, unless the two of them had done something immoral.

Yang Tie said, "My mom told me to thank Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu for the chicken and fish they sent us. Knowing that Grandpa Sun and Grandpa Xu like to drink tea, she asked me to send over two packets, and also some mung bean cakes that my mom made herself for you to try."

Chicken? Fish?

"Where did you come from?" Luo Shicheng asked Xiao Xiu.

During a short break, we said, "We went to the river to catch them today... We didn't go into the water or into the mountains; Yan Yan caught them all by throwing stones."

Upon hearing this, Luo Shicheng's unpleasant expression softened.

Leng Jian said apologetically, "These vegetables were all grown by my mother, they are very fresh, and my mother said she hopes you won't mind them."

Luo Shicheng patted Leng Jian's head and said, "Since you're here, don't leave. Stay and eat with Yan Yan and Xiao Xiu."

Thinking of the delicious food he had for lunch, Leng Jian drooled and shook his head.

"No, my mom wants me to eat at home."

Yang Tie: "We ate lunch at your house, and my mom won't let us eat there anymore."

After saying that, the two turned to run away, but Luo Shicheng pulled them back.

"Your mom won't let Uncle Luo have it. You'll have to go back after you finish eating."

Xiao Xiu took out some toys and invited Yang Tie and Leng Jian to play together.

The little boy was reluctant to leave once he had toys to play with, and the three of them quickly started playing together, completely forgetting their mother's instructions.

With meat, fish, and eggs at home, plus the vegetables brought by Leng Jian, the two aunties prepared a total of eight dishes, a balanced mix of meat and vegetables.

When Hua Li returned, she was surprised by how lavish the dinner was.

After Aunt Shi explained the origin of the fish and vegetables, Hua Li wanted to beat Luo Yan again, but Xiao Xiu protected Luo Yan and explained.

“We were just playing in the shallows, we didn’t go into the water at all, so it’s unreasonable for you to hit Luo Yan.”

Luo Shicheng also disagreed, saying, "Can you keep her locked up at home forever? If not, what difference does it make whether she goes to the water or the roadside? Instead of hitting the child, it's better to teach her how to protect herself."

Hua Li glared angrily at Luo Shicheng, "I can't..."

"I know how to swim, hunt, and fight. I will teach Yan Yan and Xiao Xiu everything I know until they learn it."

Yang Tie and Leng Jian were excited to hear this, "Uncle Luo, we want to learn too."

Luo Shicheng sneered, "Your father can do that too, go find your father."

They were both rejected by Uncle Luo, sob sob sob... Yang Tie and Leng Jian were so down that even the delicious food didn't taste good.

Luo Shicheng noticed that Xu Tianzhong hadn't come out to eat, so he asked Aunt Shi. Aunt Shi said that Xu Tianzhong was eating inside and that she had already brought the food over, so Luo Shicheng didn't ask any further questions.

After dinner, Luo Shicheng took Luo Yan and Xiao Xiu to escort Yang Tie and Leng Jian home, while Hua Li followed them out for a stroll.

Upon reaching the small square, Luo Shicheng led the children toward the tenement building, while Hua Li strolled around the square alone.

When Zhang Xiaofeng returned after being released, she happened to run into Hua Li, who was alone. She was not about to let him go, so she rushed over and pointed at Hua Li's nose and cursed him.

"You wicked vixen, you seduced Dr. Li into poisoning and killing his mother and neighbor, why don't you just die?"

Hua Li was baffled by the insults, but she couldn't let Zhang Xiaofeng slander her like this.

"Dr. Li only treated my child. I have no personal relationship with him at all. If you continue to spread rumors, don't blame me for reporting you."

Zhang Xiaofeng spat at Hua Li, "You think you can report me, you slut... Ah! You dare hit me!"

Hua Li, unable to bear it any longer, slapped Zhang Xiaofeng across the face.

"I'll beat you up for spewing nonsense."

Zhang Xiaofeng opened her mouth and spat out blood mixed with her teeth, baring her teeth and claws as if to fight Hua Li to the death.

Hua Li had been training diligently these past few days, and he treated Zhang Xiaofeng as practice, quickly defeating her and knocking her to the ground.

"Stop it! Stop it!"

A well-dressed middle-aged woman ran over and shielded Zhang Xiaofeng, who had fallen to the ground.

"Mom, she hit me! You must tell Commander Zhuang to kill her!"
