Chapter 44 One Child Battles the Evil Neighbor

Luo Yan stood under the eaves, munching on a persimmon while waiting for her parents to come home.

The persimmons were dripping with juice, and Luo Yan held them in her two little hands, leaning forward to make sure she didn't get her clothes dirty.

"Hey, Xiao Yanyan..."

Mo Sanshan peeked out from the wall next door and called to Luo Yan.

Luo Yan glanced at the boy, who was as black as donkey dung, and continued to gnaw on her persimmon.

Why are you ignoring me?

Mo Sanshan flirts with Luo Yan.

"My mom said that when you grow up, you can only be my wife. Remember, you can't wear skirts anymore, understand?"

"Who do you think you are?" Luo Yan rolled her eyes at the self-satisfied Mo Sanshan.

When Mo Sanshan saw that Luo Yan was ignoring him, he became unhappy and started throwing pebbles at her.

"Why aren't you saying anything? Are you mute too? Where's your mother? Why isn't she home? Is she out having another affair?"

Luo Yan immediately turned her gaze to Mo Sanshan and slammed the half-eaten persimmon into his face.

Persimmon juice mixed with nosebleeds smeared all over Mo Sanshan's face, and Mo Sanshan howled like a banshee.

Hearing this, Wu Cuihua, who was sitting on the kang (a heated brick bed) with her quilt covered, quickly ran out.

What happened?

Seeing that Mo Sanshan's face was covered in blood, Wu Cuihua quickly pulled Mo Sanshan to the pool and used cool water to apply to his forehead to stop the bleeding.

Luo Yan heard Wu Cuihua cursing next door and knew that Mo Sanshan's words must have been said by Wu Cuihua. While washing her hands, she pondered how to deal with Wu Cuihua.

After washing her hands, Luo Yan noticed that Hua Li and Luo Shicheng hadn't returned yet, so she decided to take out Liu Jingqiu's notebook to take another look.

Before I could even take it out, I heard a loud bang. Looking in the direction of the sound, I saw a large patch of mud smeared on the clean and bright windowpane.

Luo Yan suddenly remembered that the original text mentioned Mo Sanshan, a bad guy who was still peeing and playing in the mud when he was six years old, and who later joined forces with An Xiaotong to bully the original owner of the body.

Luo Yan had reason to suspect that the suspicious mud on the glass was made by Mo Sanshan using urine.

Luo Yan went to the kitchen, picked up the long hose that Hua Li used to water the vegetable garden, and dragged it all the way out the door.

Mo Sanshan, whose nose was red and swollen, saw Luo Yan while perched on the wall. He made a face at Luo Yan and raised the mud in his hand to throw it at her.

Luo Yan quickly crawled back inside the door, and then the mud slammed loudly against the door panel.

Luo Yan didn't believe Wu Cuihua was unaware; perhaps it was Wu Cuihua who had instructed her.

Luo Yan ran back to the kitchen and turned on the tap, turning it halfway first, and then turning it on full blast after the water flowed from the pipe to the floor.

Luo Yan walked to the door and peeked through the crack.

Mo Sanshan ran out of mud, so he went down and squeezed out some urine to mix with a lump of urine before climbing back up the ladder. As soon as he poked his head out, a powerful stream of water hit his eyes, and Mo Sanshan was in so much pain that he lost his balance and tumbled down the ladder.

Seeing Mo Sanshan tumble down the ladder, clutching his bottom and crying out in pain, Wu Cuihua, who was standing guard by the wall, was furious and started cursing loudly.

"You little bastard raised by a slut, just wait until your whore mother gets back, and see how I deal with you... *grumble*..."

Luo Yan tilted the water pipe upwards, and the water flowed over the courtyard wall and fell back down, landing right in Wu Cuihua's mouth as she kept cursing.

Upon hearing Wu Cuihua's violent coughing, Luo Yan released her grip on the water pipe outlet, and the water flow immediately became calmer.

Luo Yan threw the water pipe on the ground and ran back into the house to turn off the tap.

Wu Cuihua didn't have the guts to jump over the wall and beat Luo Yan, so she could only sulk and curse as she carried Mo Sanshan to the hospital with the key.

"Sister-in-law, what's wrong with you?"

Wu Cuihua turned her head and saw that it was Liu Jingqiu. She immediately found a target to complain to.

"Oh dear, Auntie, you have no idea, Hua Li's daughter was locked up at home all by herself, with no one to play with, so she started targeting my third son, throwing persimmons at him and spraying him with water, leaving him covered in bruises..."

Look what we've done to her, mother and I, we're soaked to the bone."

Liu Jingqiu couldn't help but feel sympathy for Wu Cuihua and her son, who were in dire straits.

“These kids are all homeschooled, especially if the mother is… well, then the child is definitely not going to make it.”

Liu Jingqiu immediately hit the nail on the head regarding Wu Cuihua's feelings.

"That's for sure. Otherwise, why would men who are as beautiful as flowers not like them? There's a reason for that."

Liu Jingqiu gave a dry laugh but didn't respond.

Wu Cuihua looked Liu Jingqiu up and down, "What are you doing carrying all these bags?"

Liu Jingqiu sighed, "Well, Hua Li was arrested by the Revolutionary Committee the day before yesterday. I was worried that her two children would be scared, so I took Yan Yan to my house. But Yan Yan insisted that I hit her."

When my former boss found out about this, he not only punished me by making me pay half of my monthly allowance to Hua Li as compensation, but also required me to personally apologize to Hua Li.

I couldn't possibly come empty-handed, and I didn't have any money to buy anything; my parents even paid for this."

Wu Cuihua took a closer look at the things in Liu Jingqiu's hands: fruit, canned goods, milk powder, cake, and even face cream.

"Just because the child said you hit her, you have to pay compensation and apologize in person? Where's the justice in that? What's the relationship between that old leader and Hua Li? Why is he so biased towards her?"

Liu Jingqiu gave an awkward smile and remained silent, pursing her lips.

Wu Cuihua had an expression that said, "I understand without you having to tell me."

"Mom! Mom! It hurts!" Mo Sanshan was in pain all over his body, and Wu Cuihua kept crying and complaining to Liu Jingqiu. Mo Sanshan was so uncomfortable that he kept shaking Wu Cuihua's back.

Wu Cuihua responded with "Ah, ah, ah," and said to Liu Jingqiu.

"I have to take my third child to the hospital. I don't know when Hua Li will be back yet. Don't wait here. Come back another day."

Liu Jingqiu smiled and nodded, "Sister-in-law, go ahead. If I didn't have too much stuff to carry, I would have gone with you."

Luo Yan overheard Liu Jingqiu's few words from inside the door and turned white into black, even implying that her mother had something going on with her former boss. Her ability to spread rumors was unmatched by ten mothers.

After speaking ill of others, he thought he could just walk away, but Luo Yan was not about to let him get away with it.

Luo Yan screamed at the top of her lungs, "Wah! Daddy! Mommy! Waaaaah..."

Despite Wu Cuihua's earlier swearing, her voice wasn't actually loud. She only dared to say such inappropriate things because neither of her neighbors was home. When she whispered to Liu Jingqiu, she kept her voice down, barely attracting the attention of anyone in the compound.

But as soon as Luo Yan's little loudspeaker blared, it immediately attracted a lot of people.

They were all from the same compound, and the elderly, in particular, couldn't stand the sound of children crying. Seeing Wu Cuihua and Liu Jingqiu standing at the door as if they hadn't heard anything, they all asked what was going on.

Wu Cuihua panicked for a moment, then confidently revealed Mo Sanshan, who was on her back.

"What else could it be? That girl Luo Yan beat my third son up like this. After I told Comrade Liu, she was afraid that her parents would find out and she would get beaten up, so she cried."

Liu Jingqiu, just say what you have to say. Why did you bring me along?

Wu Cuihua thought she was right, but to her surprise, everyone pointed and whispered about her.

"Listen to what you're saying. Let's not even talk about how your third child is six years old. Even if a little baby can't beat him, how could a toddler like him possibly hit your third child when there's a wall between them?"

Wu Cuihua, "..."
