"So your chengfen is not a problem now? Your family is also from Beijing?" Su Tao asked curiously. She saw that the letter was sent from Beijing.
"Well, I'll tell you the details when I get back. I want to go to my grandparents' graves and tell them about this." Both his grandparents passed away after going to the countryside and were buried on the hilltop next to Zhangjia Village. He had originally planned to visit them before leaving, but who would have thought that he would bring back some news.
"Tuo, I'll go with you." Su Tao said softly.
"Yes, you. My mother also wants to see her future daughter-in-law." He Chuan looked at Su Tao deeply and said.
In the afternoon, Su Tao and He Chuan brought He Yanzhi some prepared pastries and came to the grave of He Chuan's mother.
Su Tao looked like a simple earthen mound with a stone tablet on top that read "Tomb of He Zhiqi and Yang Suxin."
"Dad, Mom, your case has been investigated and you have been cleared. You should rest in peace knowing what happened in the afterlife." He Chuan burned the newspaper he had sent to his mother at her grave, hoping that she could see it.
"Yanzhi has grown up and become a beautiful girl. Don't worry, I will take care of her." He Chuan pulled He Yanzhi forward.
He Yanzhi lost her grandparents shortly after she was born, and she has no memory of them. Her brother raised her like a grandparent. Every year, He Chuan would bring her to worship her grandparents, and she would tell them her worries and troubles, as if that would help them realize their dreams.
She felt that her mother had blessed them, allowing her brother to meet Sister Taotao and get into university. Now they could return to the city, and everything was so beautiful to her.
He Chuan then looked at Su Tao and said, "This is your future daughter-in-law. I brought her here for you to meet. We were admitted to Peking University, where you used to study, and we'll be back in the city tomorrow."
Su Tao glanced at He Chuan, took the man's hand, turned to the tombstone and said softly: "Uncle and aunt, I am Su Tao. This is my first time meeting you. Thank you for raising He Chuan so well. I will take care of He Chuan and live a happy life with him."
He Chuan also looked at Su Tao steadily. He felt that he was very lucky to have met such a woman when he was at his lowest point, and to have known and stayed with her.
The next day, Jiang Dashi came early in the morning to help Su Tao and others move their luggage.
"Why bother you? It's just three big bags. We can carry them ourselves." Su Tao was a little reluctant to bother Jiang Dashi. The three bags looked big, but they were actually not that big. They were just some clothes and bedding. Su Tao secretly threw the heavy and fragile pots and pans into the space storage.
"It's okay, let him help. I'll be relieved to have him take you there," Hu Xiao said as she stood at the door. She wouldn't be leaving for a few days. She and Su Tao had already exchanged addresses, so they could keep in touch.
"Yes, sister-in-law, don't be afraid to trouble me, just give me orders!" Jiang Dashi patted his chest and said carelessly, then picked up Su Tao and the others' two large bags of luggage and headed towards the village entrance.
"It's okay. Let him help us deliver it to the town, and then mail these large items back. It will be more convenient for us to carry a small bag on the train." He Chuan said.
"Well, thank you, Dashi." Since Hechuan said this, she could only smile and thank him.
He Chuan picked up the remaining small bag of personal belongings, turned to Su Tao and said, "Let's go."
Su Tao pulled He Yanzhi along and turned to wave goodbye to Hu Xiao. "I'll leave now. I'll contact you later."
"Goodbye, and have a safe trip."
After arriving in the town, He Chuan and his group first went to the post office and sent two large packages of clothes and bedding back to the address given by Su Tao.
Then he told Jiang Dashi: "Here's the bicycle for you. Just do what you think it can be done with. And since I troubled you before, please send it to the address I gave you earlier."
"Hey, Brother Chuan, don't worry about me. I'll help you transport and send the things later." Jiang Dashi patted his chest and made a promise with an expression that said, "Don't worry about me."
"Well, thank you, brother. I'll contact you after I settle down there. You have the address." He Chuan said in a low voice.
