Chapter 127 Uncle 1 (2/2)

The man withdrew his gaze only after seeing Su Tao's figure disappear behind the door. He lay down and sighed to himself, wondering when he could hug his wife and sleep again.

After waking up from a nap, He Chuan looked at the clock. He had agreed to pick him up at 3 pm, and it was almost time.

He Chuan picked up the gift and went downstairs with Su Tao and He Yanzhi, who had just changed into new clothes.

As soon as I got downstairs, I saw a conspicuous black Red Flag sedan parked downstairs. Everyone passing by couldn't help but stop and look. In this day and age, it was rare to have a car, so seeing one parked suddenly made everyone look twice in curiosity.

Standing next to the car was a man in a dark blue jacket, about thirty years old, handsome and strong looking, and most importantly, he looked somewhat like He Chuan.

"Did your uncle tell you how your cousin will come to pick you up? Could it be the man in front of me?" Su Tao looked at the man not far away, turned to He Chuan and said suspiciously.

He Chuan was not sure either. While the two were hesitating, the man beside the car seemed to notice them and came over.

"He Chuan?" The man stopped in front of Su Tao and his group and called out first.

"Well, are you Qi Ling's cousin?" He Chuan looked at the man in front of him, and there was still a shadow of his youth. Back then, He Chuan was in his teens and Qi Ling was in his twenties. The man hadn't changed much, just looking a little older and more mature.

He Yanzhi also followed He Chuan and timidly called him cousin.

"Well, I haven't seen you for so many years, I almost didn't recognize you. This must be my little cousin." Qi Ling said to He Chuan, and smiled softly at the little girl.

Then he turned around and greeted Su Tao: "This is my sister-in-law, she is really a beauty. I heard that Bo Yi was dumped by you, how cool!"

Su Tao smiled indifferently.

"Hurry up and get in the car. My dad is waiting anxiously and almost wants to come and pick you up himself." Qi Ling said with a smile, grinning.

Qi Ling took the two people's things and put them in the trunk of the car, then turned around and opened the door.

He Chuan sat in the passenger seat, while Su Tao and Yan Zhi sat in the back seat.

Half an hour later, the car stopped at the gate of a historic courtyard house.

Su Tao got out of the car and looked around. He Chuan's uncle lived here? This area seemed to be inhabited by high-ranking officials and nobles.

Who is Uncle He Chuan? Living here is not something you can buy just because you have money. Living here is a symbol of status.

"Please come in." Qi Lingqian led everyone in.

The vermilion gate is tall and majestic, with a stone drum on each side of the gate.

He Chuan, Su Tao, and their group followed Qi Ling inside. Upon entering, they were greeted by a screen wall carved with a scene depicting blossoming flowers. The peonies were resplendent and lifelike. They then passed through a hanging flower gate and entered the main courtyard. It was a quadrangle with two entrances, built with blue bricks, gray tiles, and red pillars. The eaves were decorated with carved dragons and phoenixes, and the vibrant enamels gave the house an air of nobility and elegance.

In the center of the courtyard stood a pond, with carp swimming in it and ornamental water lilies floating on the surface. Flower beds on either side of the pond held a variety of flowers, many of which Su Tao could not name.

Qi Ling watched Su Tao's gaze linger on the landscape in the courtyard and smiled slightly, "This was taken care of by my mother."

"It seems that my aunt must be an elegant woman." Su Tao smiled faintly in reply, and added in his heart that she must be very free, otherwise ordinary people would not have such leisure time.
