Chapter 51 Fermented Tofu
When He Chuanyi got home, he saw this scene: Su Tao and He Yanzhi were squatting on the ground, both looking into several large jars.
"What are you doing?" A sudden voice behind them startled Su Tao and He Yanzhi.
Su Tao glanced at the man with a charming look, patted his chest and said, "It's so scary. He walks without making any sound."
The man chuckled a few times, "I wasn't silent at all, you were just watching too intently and didn't hear me."
The man also leaned over to see what the two were looking at. Su Tao went to the kitchen and brought over a bowl and chopsticks. He picked up a piece of fermented tofu from the jar and put it in the bowl. He picked up a little with his chopsticks and passed it to He Chuan's mouth, "Try it."
The man obediently opened his mouth and took a sip. A salty and mellow aroma spread in his mouth. The taste was smooth and soft, with the mellow aroma of tofu and the rich aroma of wine mixed together. It was indescribably delicious.
"Very good." The man gave a thumbs up. When he saw Su Tao making it, he really didn't expect that a small piece of tofu could be made so delicious.
Su Tao felt sweet in his heart when he saw that his success was recognized by the man.
Su Tao picked out the fermented tofu pieces from the jar and put them into the small jars he had bought earlier, sealing them. Each jar contained about 20 small pieces. He filled 17 jars in total. He took out two to eat at home and planned to sell the rest at the next market day.
As winter approaches and the weather gets colder, the crayfish are becoming scarce. He might not be able to sell crayfish anymore, so he'll have to sell only cakes. So Su Tao plans to make something else to sell. Now that he has fermented tofu ready, he can take it along with cakes to sell.

Today was another weekend market day. He Chuan packed up his things and was about to go out when a small, delicate hand grabbed him.
"I want to go with you this time." Su Tao stared at him intently, looking pitiful, with pleading in his eyes.
The man remained calm and did not respond.
"If you let me go, I will listen to you. I will never run around. Just let me go with you~" The woman spoke in a coquettish voice, holding the man's hand and shaking it coquettishly.
"The main thing is that you are selling fermented bean curd this time. It's a new thing, and I'm afraid you don't know how to explain it to others. And I also want to go to town to buy some things. The flour and seasonings at home are almost gone, and I need to buy some more. The weather is getting colder, and I plan to buy some cold-weather clothes. Will you let me go with you? Okay?" The woman continued to conquer the man pitifully.
He Chuan was indifferent to everything else, but he couldn't be hard-hearted towards Su Tao. After being pestered by her, he could only agree: "Then remember to be obedient and don't run around. If the situation is not right, you must listen to me. If I tell you to go first, you must go first. Can you do that?"
When Su Tao heard He Chuan give in, he nodded his head like a chicken pecking at rice, raised his hand and pretended to swear, "Yes, yes, okay, I will definitely listen to you. If you tell me to go east, I will definitely not go west."
The man couldn't help but chuckle at her chattering face.
Arriving in the town, Su Tao followed the man through twists and turns until he came to a dark and secluded corner. The man took out the things he brought and arranged them.
Su Tao looked around and asked doubtfully, "How could anyone come to such a secluded place?"
The man said experiencedly, "It's still early now. There will be more people later. If you really go shopping here, you'll always find the black people." He sets up his stall in a different place every time, and his old customers can always find his stall.
Su Tao looked at the man suspiciously, half-believing him. He rearranged the items on the stall to make them look more neat and presentable. Then he took a few pieces from one of the jars and placed them in a bowl, offering them to everyone to try as usual.
After a while, the flow of people suddenly increased, and many old customers came over. They were a little disappointed when they found that there were no crayfish this time.
"Why are there no crayfish?" the visitor said with a frown.
