Su Tao and He Yanzhi both looked up at the beautiful scenery in the sky, but He Chuan was staring at the beauty in front of him. Su Tao's delicate face was brighter and more beautiful than usual under the reflection of the fireworks, and his eyes were radiating light, as charming as the fireworks in the night sky.
Su Tao handed He Yanzhi a few long tortoise-shaped sky rockets and asked her to hold them with the ends facing the sky. Su Tao helped her light the fuses. Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, one rocket after another shot up into the sky and exploded into small flowers. He Yanzhi was overjoyed. It was so fun. She had never played with such fun fireworks before.
After the fireworks, a trace of tiredness crept onto Su Tao and He Yanzhi's bodies after the excitement. They listened to the songs on the radio, feeling drowsy, their eyelids drooping, and they eventually couldn't get through the night and fell asleep on the table.
He Chuan looked at the two of them with a smile, first carrying He Yanzhi into the room and covering her with a blanket. Then he returned to carry Su Tao back to the room, and before leaving, he gently kissed her forehead, "New darling, Su Tao."
The next day, Su Tao got up early just to tell He Chuan, "New arrival!"
"New girl!" He Chuan raised his thin lips in a slight arc.
"Where's Yanzhi?" Su Tao looked around but saw no one.
Just as he finished speaking, he saw Yanzhi coming out of the kitchen with buns in her hand.
"I'm here, new girl, Sister Taotao."
"Newborn, Yanzhi. Here is your red envelope. I wish you good health and become more and more beautiful~" Su Tao handed a red envelope to the little girl.
He Yanzhi took the red envelope and smiled sweetly, "Thank you, Sister Taotao."
"Here, this is for you. I wish you peace and prosperity." Su Tao turned around and handed He Chuan a red envelope.
"Me too?" The man was a little surprised. He didn't expect that he would receive a red envelope.
"Of course, it's a good omen for good luck." Su Tao smiled with his eyes curved, like a lovable fox.
He Chuan wasn't a native of the village, nor did he have many relatives, so he didn't need to visit any relatives or friends. Su Tao prepared three pieces of meat, intending to go with He Chuan to visit the village head, party secretary, and team leader's homes over the next few days, just like visiting relatives.
There was a knock on the door. Su Tao opened the door and saw that it was Tiedan and Erya, holding a basket in their hands.
"New friends, Tiedan and Erya." Su Tao greeted them with a smile.
"New item, Sister Taotao, this is from my home." Su Tao took it and saw that it was actually some eggs and fruits.
Su Tao and the two little carrots worked for a long time, and the two children grew up a lot under Su Tao's guidance. Tiedan and Erya's families were very grateful to Su Tao, and they often asked the two children to bring some agricultural products to Su Tao. Su Tao would also give some cakes and other gifts in return. As a result, the relationship between the families became closer.
"Thank you. Come in and have some candy before you leave." Su Tao pulled the two of them to the living room. There was a wooden box in the living room filled with fruit candies and White Rabbit milk candies. The two of them drooled as they looked at them. Even if they were in their family, they would not be willing to buy more candies for their children.
Su Tao peeled two and put them into their mouths. "Would you like to eat it?"
"Yeah, yeah, it tastes good and is sweet." They both answered in unison.
Su Tao, watching the two of them so adorably, grabbed handfuls of candy and stuffed their pockets, filling them to the brim. They were both overjoyed, clutching their pockets like they were holding treasures. Su Tao packed up some pastries for them to take back home as a return gift. They took the pastries with one hand, clutching their pockets tightly with the other, fearing any candy would fall out, and happily said goodbye to Su Tao.
In the next few days, Su Tao received visits from several educated youth with whom he had a good relationship, such as Hu Xiao and Zhang Jiedong. Knowing that they were craving his food, he specially invited them to stay and have dinner before leaving.
When Su Tao was free, he also took He Chuanqi to visit the homes of the village chief, the branch secretary, and the team leader.
Time passed in fulfilling and tense days. In a blink of an eye, it was the seventh day of the New Year. He Chuan had to leave today and rush back to the county. He would officially start driving tomorrow.
