Chapter 2: Elopement

Wang Ping counted on her fingers one by one as she made her request, looking at Chen Dong with a green light in her eyes, as if there was a piece of braised pork lying on the ground, and she was just waiting for the captain's order to swallow it up immediately without leaving even a trace.

Tian Xiaolan's eyes were slightly red, and she felt a little sour in her heart. The emotions of the original owner surged up. She took a deep breath and said calmly: "First, you are only my mother in name only, not my guardian. You have no right to arrange my lifelong affairs. Second, you know so well that I am with him. Could it be that you often meet with him secretly like this?"

"Hey, everyone in the village knows that your father and I have a good relationship. You are really unreasonable, girl. And why do you involve me in your affairs?"

Wang Ping put her hands on her hips and looked at her sideways, wondering why this idiot had suddenly changed his nature. Not only did he hit people, but he also learned to talk back to her. She would see if she would kill this little bitch when she got home.

Her eyelashes drooped, and she pulled the corners of her mouth, shook her head, and smiled faintly, "Really? You're so quick to deny it, is it really true? You're so sure that he and I had an affair? Since you say I eloped with him, then produce evidence. If you can't, you're just spreading rumors. You've tarnished the reputation of a girl like me who doesn't have a partner yet. How can I get married in the future? You have such a vicious heart!"

"You're trying to scare me with this? I wasn't raised to be scared! We are your parents and we can't control you. You look like this, it's lucky that someone will marry you."

Tian Xiaolan couldn't help laughing when she heard her words, "If I weren't picky, it would be so scary to meet someone like you!"

"you……"

"Wang Ping, you said they eloped. When we came here, we only saw her lying here. There was no one else. I think you are spreading rumors and causing trouble here!" Liu Fang couldn't stand her behavior. She usually withheld food and clothing from Tian Xiaolan, and now she was forcing her daughter to marry him off. It was a sin!

"She's not her daughter anyway. What kind of parents wouldn't care if their child fell into the river and just wanted to marry her off? Do you feel that Xiaolan has changed? She's not stupid anymore. I think she's quite smart."

"He must have choked on some water. I'm sure you're okay."

Under the tree, a few rays of setting sun shone there but were swallowed up by the boundless darkness. Tian Xiaolan's eyes appeared particularly bright in the dim light, her expression cold and solemn. A breeze blew up her wet clothes, revealing her skinny body under the gray clothes.

Chen Dong felt a little guilty when Tian Xiaolan looked at him, and he raised his voice unconsciously: "We are just gay. When did we get together? We just met in the village and exchanged a few words. Does that count as a relationship? Fifty yuan, why don't you just rob it? Damn, poor mountains and bad waters produce unruly people."

Chen Dong was pressed to the ground with cold sweat on his palms. He gritted his teeth and recalled which step had gone wrong. It was clearly the one who pushed him into the water with his own hands, so how come he wasn't dead yet?

"You two must get married today, otherwise don't even think about leaving." As she said this, Wang Ping pulled Chen Dong's calf with her hands and stared at him as if she would not give up until he agreed.

Chen Dong felt an irrepressible rage well up in his heart. He clenched his fingers and said disdainfully, "According to you, every man who has spoken to your daughter must marry her. You're ugly, but you think she's beautiful. But you don't even want your silly daughter to be given away."

"Don't think you can get rid of me with just two words. It's our girl who suffered the loss, and you took advantage of her and acted like a spoiled child."

"You are so shameless! You can't even take care of your own daughter, yet you blame me, like I'm Lei Feng!"

"Captain, look at this adulterous couple. They do such shameless things and they still feel justified!" Wang Ping pointed at Chen Dong angrily and looked at the captain, hoping that he could do justice for her.

There were a few scattered clouds in the sky. The captain looked up at the sky, as if he was deaf to everything.

"I don't live in the same household as you. You live by the sea, why are you meddling so much?"

Family planning was implemented when she was born. As soon as Tian Xiaolan's mother died, Tian Tiezhu took the pregnant Wang Ping home. Of course, the only household registration page in his family was left to the baby in Wang Ping's belly.

Wang Ping glared at Tian Xiaolan, her eyes so angry that sparks were almost coming out.

"You ungrateful bastard! Your father and I have raised you for so many years. Just because we say it's okay doesn't mean it's okay! You still have your father's blood flowing in your veins."

"Beat you to death, you unfilial daughter! You came here just to collect debts. I shouldn't have given birth to you!" Tian Tiezhu said as he raised his pipe and rushed towards Tian Xiaolan.

He dodged the cigarette that was aimed at her face, snatched it away, lifted the lid and snapped it in two, and asked, "Are you still coming? Come on if you're not afraid of death."

The surroundings suddenly became quiet. After hearing what Tian Xiaolan said, Tian Tiezhu widened his eyes, trembled all over, and let out a hoarse scream, as if a knife had split his chest.

The wind gently blew through the leaves. Guihua was still weeding in her own field when someone hurriedly ran over to tell her that Tian Xiaolan was stuck by the river. Her heart suddenly tightened, as if her blood was flowing backwards. "After so many years, their family really can't change their bad habits. They must be bullying my Xiaolan. Quick, take me over!"

Before she could catch her breath, the anxious Guihua pulled her away and led the way for her.

Tian Xiaolan said indifferently: "You left me on the roadside at that time? Didn't you think that I was your daughter? From now on, I won't bother you, and you don't bother me either."

"I still remember that when you were born, your face was as wrinkled as a monkey's. No matter how hard we pinched you, you wouldn't cry. Everyone said you were a fool. At that time, our family had no rice to cook..."

From the jokes of the villagers, we learned that when Tian Tiezhu brought Wang Ping home, her father thought she was too annoying and threw her into the snow on the roadside late at night. Fortunately, Aunt Guihua picked her up and brought her back, which is why she lived to this age.

Wang Ping quickly agreed, adding fuel to the fire: "If your father hadn't sent you away, you would have starved to death. Now you have food and drink, and we don't ask for anything else. Just listen to us and get married. If you have any good things in the future, just think of us."

"Who doesn't suffer? Well, if you like it, eat more." Tian Xiaolan spread her hands in confusion.

"How can you be so stubborn, you little bastard?"

"Why do I need oil and salt? I'm eating. If nothing else, I'll leave first." After saying that, he walked out without waiting for Wang Ping who had not yet reacted.

The captain spotted a few people from the neighboring village in the crowd and said impatiently, "That's enough! Don't you think this is embarrassing enough?"

Gazing at the clear river and lush green trees nearby, I felt deeply moved by the wonderful environment here. After taking a few steps, I retreated and asked sincerely, "How do I get back to the village?"

The woman was about to return to the village after watching the fun and invited her to join her.

"Xiao Lan, you've broken up with them. What are you going to do if they make things difficult for you in the future?"

Tian Xiaolan knew that the "they" she was talking about were her father and stepmother. She said calmly without any ripples in her heart, "I'll go back to Aunt Guihua's place. If they dare to come, I'll beat them up one by one, and I'll string them together two by two."
