Chapter 63: Broken Abacus

"You...you are so sharp-tongued, your parents didn't teach you well." Accountant Hu was very angry.

"I don't think you're that great! Do you think I'll be afraid of you just because you're an adult? I wasn't brought up to be scared!" Wei Wenjie was used to hearing harsh insults, so his words didn't sound hurtful at all.

When he turned around, he saw a small circle of onlookers. Accountant Hu felt that he could not talk to him anymore, for fear that people would find out that he had dropped the test paper. If they sued him, he would not be able to bear the blame.

Accountant Hu was very self-aware. He quickly packed up his things and took the test paper away.

"What's going on? It's so lively."

He recognized the voice of Xing Yifei, so he rolled up the test paper and put it into the bag. Before he put it in, the two men came.

"Oh! It's Accountant Hu. Why didn't you call me to go with you when you went to hand in the papers?" Xing Yifei stood at the door with his hands in his pockets, following Chen Shaohui with a nonchalant tone.

He was careless and was discovered by him when he ran away. He even got up early to avoid his sight, but he still met him.

"I just want you to get more sleep. You worked hard yesterday!"

"Is there something you can't show me? I just heard that something was lost." Xing Yifei didn't bother to talk to him any more and directly exposed it.

"No, no, you heard it wrong. He and I were just joking." Accountant Hu laughed it off and there was no way he would tell Xing Yifei that he had messed up the test paper. What's more, the test paper matched the number of examinees, so it wasn't a mistake. He wouldn't have noticed as long as he didn't look closely at the names.

Xing Yifei said in a leisurely and meaningful tone, "Really? Let me see."

Chen Shaohui pulled hard on one corner of the cloth bag, but Accountant Hu on the opposite side refused to let go even though his hands were bruised.

But Chen Shaohui was not someone to be trifled with. He lifted the bag with his muscles, and the handle strap broke after just a few seconds. The test paper did not fall out, but Accountant Hu was thrown to the ground by the reaction force.

Accountant Hu held his old waist. His butt was bruised and painful from the fall. He couldn't get up and could only watch them take the test papers out of the bag.

Xing Yifei opened his bag and took out the test papers. He noticed something was wrong as soon as he looked at the first two. Chen Dong and Yang Xi, both of whom had not taken the exam, had their names on them. Even though the names fit very closely, the difference could still be seen from the gaps on the edges if one looked closely.

He took one look at the beautiful handwriting and knew who it belonged to. He stroked the paper lightly with his fingers and put it back.

Accountant Hu was so scared that his breath was in his throat, thinking that he had seen something. Then he saw him put the test paper into his bag without saying anything.

Xing Yifei and Chen Shaohui said, "Give it to him."

"Okay, big brother." He waved his arm and threw the bag to Accountant Hu.

Before Accountant Hu could react, the bag flew over and hit him on the head with great accuracy, causing him to feel a pain in his head. Dozens of test papers were heavy.

I didn't dare to say it hurt, and I didn't want to get up. I just wanted to lie on the ground.

They looked at him and left, as if they were not here to cause him any trouble. He was really unlucky today, and there was no place on his body that didn't hurt. He wondered if he had stepped on dog shit on the road.

After they walked away, Chen Shaohui asked the eldest brother what he was doing touching the paper: "Emma, did you see any problem just now, big brother?"

"There's something wrong with the paper. It's not our business." Xing Yifei reminded him without stopping.

"What could be wrong with a test paper?" Chen Shaohui's voice was filled with the spicy flavor of Sichuan and Chongqing. He couldn't understand why the boss always spoke halfway, which made people feel itchy.

Xing Yifei: ...

He knew, but the boss didn't want to say it.

Accountant Hu, who was still lying in the store, saw that no one was there to help him, so he climbed up with his hands on the ground. If he lay down any longer, the store would be closing soon.

He put on his backpack and went straight to the town committee without bothering Wei Wenjie. Fortunately, the village chief had brought him here once before to broaden his horizons for a meeting, otherwise he would not even know what was inside.

Inside was an office space consisting of several small houses. In fact, it was similar to the one in their village. The difference was that there was no gatekeeper at the entrance of their village, only gossipy women. The moment he saw the door, he wanted to walk in, but he was stopped as soon as he reached the door.

"Where are you from? Do you know where this is? How dare you barge in?" The gatekeeper saw that he didn't say anything and just barged in like a fool.

"Uncle, I'm here to deliver the test paper. Please let me in!" Accountant Hu pinched a corner of the test paper to show him, and wanted to bypass him to enter.

The gatekeeper got angry when he saw someone several times his age calling him "uncle": "Open your eyes and see clearly, am I your uncle? You look shifty and don't look like a good person. Are you going in here to steal something?"

Accountant Hu raised his head proudly and spoke of his status. Although not as high-ranking as the official, it was at least better than his. "Open your eyes and see clearly. I am a genuine accountant from Wangjia Village. Of course, people like you must have never been educated and don't know what accounting is!"

"Oh, you're just a scorekeeper using an abacus! You really think you're a noob! Look around here, who knows you? I'll let you in right away." The gatekeeper couldn't bear to see him

Accountant Hu looked around for a long time but didn't see anyone he knew. He had no choice but to negotiate with him: "Brother, I was wrong just now. I apologize to you. Please let me in! This test paper is really important. If I can't hand it in, the villagers will kill me!"

"They asked an accountant like you to come for such an important matter. It seems your village doesn't take it seriously." The gatekeeper looked at him with disgust. He took the large iron shovel used by the cleaner outside and hit Accountant Hu on the leg. "What kind of village can a person like you stay in? Everyone must be so cruel and unreasonable. It's right not to let you in."

Accountant Hu was not stupid. He dodged and ran away when he saw the shovel coming. But when he saw it from the opposite side, he didn't believe it. Today was the deadline for submitting the papers, and there must be people who hadn't submitted them yet. When he saw someone he knew, he would ask him to take him in or help him submit them.

When the gatekeeper saw him leaving, he didn't chase after him. He picked up the shovel and returned it to the cleaner, then went back to the house. There was a fan in the house. It was a hot day. He saw a familiar person across the street who had not left yet. However, he guessed that he didn't dare to come over.

After waiting for a long time, he didn't see anyone he knew. Finally, when the watchdog hid in his small square house, he knew his chance had come.

He pulled up the heels of his cloth shoes in advance, kicked his feet backward twice, and then rushed forward.

He did something that the gatekeeper didn't expect. He saw a man rushing towards him. At first glance, he saw that it was the person he had just driven away. He was still trying to break in with such evil intentions. He had to teach him a lesson.
