Chapter 16: Rescue

Jiang Yanqing felt a little helpless. It was indeed a bit rude of her to come to the door empty-handed to express gratitude, but Fang Mingxiao was really aloof.

Just as he was about to say something, the person in the yard fell to the ground with a bang.

The person on the ground had his eyes tightly closed, his body half curled up, and was unconsciously saying something.

Not caring about anything else, Jiang Yanqing anxiously pushed open the gate and ran into the yard.

She reached out and touched Fang Mingxiao's forehead, and it was indeed very hot. Jiang Yanqing took a deep breath, stretched out her hands, and picked the man up horizontally.

Fortunately, the half-grown boy had not yet fully grown, and because of insufficient nutrition, he only weighed about 100 pounds. Jiang Yanqing picked him up with difficulty and carried him to the room step by step.

Throwing the man on the bed, Jiang Yanqing shook his sore arms. This body was still very strong. Not bad!

Jiang Yanqing knew a little about pharmacology and gave Fang Minghao a quick check-up. He probably caught a cold after going into the water, and coupled with his feelings being unhappy, he fell ill.

There are many kinds of medicine in my space, and the treatment is simple, including antipyretics, cold medicines, and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Jiang Yanqing took out a fever-reducing pill and stuffed it into Fang Mingxiao's mouth. She then fed him some hot water from the space, covered Fang Mingxiao with a quilt, and left the room. She found the kitchen and prepared to boil some hot water.

It will be convenient to use it when you wake up after sweating.

Half an hour later, Jiang Yanqing fed Fang Mingxiao some anti-inflammatory and cold medicine, and then thought about making something to eat and waiting for Fang Mingxiao to get up and eat.

Jiang Yanqing, who had some free time, had time to look around the whole house. There were two main rooms, one serving as a living room and the other as a bedroom.

There is a storage room and a kitchen. The place doesn’t look big, but it is very clean.

After rummaging around in the kitchen, Jiang Yanqing found half a bag of brown rice and two potatoes, nothing else.

I don’t know how this person lives. Anyway, in Jiang Yanqing’s memory, since Fang Mingxiao’s mother died, he has rarely gone out and even stopped reading.

In consideration of his life-saving grace and the fact that this young man is really pitiful, I am willing to help him to the best of my ability.

After thinking for a while, Jiang Yanqing found a broken basket and a rusty shovel in the utility room, closed the door of the main room, and walked out of the yard.

As I recall, the entire Leshan Village was backed by a mountain. There was an easy road leading up the mountain in the middle of the village, and there was also a small road leading up the mountain at the end of the village.

Once before, the original owner took the wrong road and ended up here, but there were snakes on the path here, which scared the original owner so much that he never dared to come here again.

But in this weather, the snake should still be hibernating, so Jiang Yanqing thought about going up the mountain, digging some wild vegetables, and picking up a few eggs to provide some nutrition for the patient.

Walking quickly up the mountain, there was a patch of wild shepherd's purse and some wild garlic at the foot of the mountain. Jiang Yanqing liked to eat these very much. When she was in the countryside, she often dug them up to eat.

He squatted down, took a small shovel, and dug up most of the basket.

Jiang Yanqing stood up, looked at the towering mountains and the tattered cloth shoes on his feet, and thought, forget it, he took out three free-range eggs from the space and put them in the basket. The size and color of these eggs were similar to pheasant eggs.

Looking at the time, it has been about half an hour since I came out. I don’t know if Fang Mingxiao has woken up.

Jiang Yanqing turned around and walked back to get some food for Fang Mingxiao, and then she could go back.

When they arrived at the Fang family's door, Jiang Yanqing pushed it open and went in. There was some noise in the bedroom, so she thought someone must have woken up.

Jiang Yanqing entered the house. Fang Mingxiao was indeed looking at the ceiling with his eyes open. When he heard footsteps, he turned around and stared at Jiang Yanqing.

"Are you awake? You were sick, and I gave you some medicine. Are you feeling better now?"

Fang Mingxiao nodded slightly and replied, "Much better, thank you!"

The voice is a little hoarse, probably because the fever causes the body to lose water quickly.

Jiang Yanqing turned and left the house, put the basket in the kitchen, and brought over a bowl of hot water. "Can you get up and drink some water by yourself now?"

Fang Mingxiao supported himself on the bed with his hands, slowly sat up, took the bowl from Jiang Yanqing's hand, and said thank you again.

Jiang Yanqing nodded, raised an eyebrow and said, "You're welcome. You saved me, so it's only natural for me to help you. Besides, you're so beautiful, I'm happy to save you."

Fang Mingxiao was drinking water when he heard this and spat it out. Was this a teasing? Probably not. Jiang Yanqing is not that kind of person.

Even though I comforted myself in this way, I couldn't help asking, "What if I'm not good-looking, will you just ignore me?"

Jiang Yanqing curled her lips and replied playfully, "That's not the case. If you weren't good-looking, I wouldn't care if you were hungry. Haha..."

After saying that, he walked out of the bedroom and went to the kitchen. In the room, Jiang Yanqing's laughter could still be vaguely heard in the air.

Fang Mingxiao shook his head helplessly, holding the water and drinking it in small sips, but he didn't notice that the corners of his pale mouth were slightly raised.

Jiang Yanqing went into the kitchen, cleaned the wild shepherd's purse and wild garlic, cut them into small pieces, and set them aside.

I washed another handful of brown rice, put it into the pot, added water, and started to cook porridge.

As for why Jiang Yanqing, a rich girl, is so skilled in cooking, it is because she learned it from her grandfather in the countryside.

Fortunately, I can cook, so I didn’t have to go hungry during the years I was abroad.

Not being able to get used to foreign hamburgers and fried chicken, Jiang Yanqing learned many complicated new dishes and made many foreign friends because of Chinese food. After returning to China, she kept her own cooking habits.
