Sheng Qian closed the door and went to find her first-aid kit.
Sheng Ting stood to the side, looking completely bewildered.
She was completely helpless in the face of this situation.
Sheng Qian examined Zhou Ran's wound and found it wasn't very deep.
Zhou Ran just sat there blankly, letting Sheng Qian treat his wounds without saying what had happened.
"Xiaoqian, I'll go boil some water to clean her up."
Seeing that she couldn't help here, Sheng Ting could only run to the kitchen to boil water for Zhou Ran to clean up.
With his wounds mostly bandaged, Zhou Ran slowly lowered his head and said in a hoarse voice, "Brother Jie said he won't marry me."
"Women don't necessarily need men."
“But I like him…” Zhou Ran’s eyes reddened.
Sheng Qian pursed her lips, then said somewhat stiffly, "Liking something can't put food on the table."
“I just love him. When I started dating him a few years ago, I knew I wouldn’t marry anyone else.”
"...He doesn't like you at all, so why bother?"
Sheng Qianzhen is really bad at comforting people.
Especially when it comes to matters of the heart.
Zhou Ran's tears flowed silently, and Sheng Qian silently treated her last wounds and found her new clothes.
"I'll stay here for today."
"Aren't you going to ask me?" Zhou Ran asked, stunned.
Sheng Qian asked, "What do you want me to ask you?"
"Of course, it's my injuries."
"It wasn't Gao Jie who did it."
"How do you know it wasn't him?" Zhou Ran was stunned again.
Sheng Qian threw the blood-stained cloth into the trash can. "He doesn't seem like that kind of person. Sister Sheng Ting, I'm going to wash my hands first. I'll fetch the water later. You take her upstairs first."
Sheng Ting quickly led Zhou Ran upstairs.
Sheng Qian carried two buckets of warm water upstairs to the second floor and placed them in the bathroom for Zhou Ran to clean up.
Zhou Ran glanced at Sheng Qian.
Just now, Sheng Qian carried the bucket of water with one hand without any effort at all.
He thought to himself that Sheng Qian's grip was really strong.
“Your hands are still usable, so use a towel to wipe yourself clean. There’s a bed and blanket in that room, you can sleep in that one,” Sheng Qian said, pointing to the room next to Sheng Ting’s.
Zhou Ran composed herself, cleaned herself up, and went to sleep.
As for whether I can fall asleep, I don't know.
Before dawn, Sheng Qian got up to exercise.
Zhou Ran heard the sound of the door opening downstairs, woke up groggily, and then closed his eyes and fell asleep again.
When Zhou Ran woke up at 7 o'clock, he saw Sheng Ting making breakfast in the kitchen on the first floor. He said somewhat shyly, "Um, your name is Sheng Ting, right?"
"You're awake! Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Sheng Ting was worried that Zhou Ran wouldn't be able to get up.
“They’re all minor injuries, I can move. Where’s Sheng Qian?” Zhou Ran looked around but couldn’t find Sheng Qian.
"He must have gone out for a run."
"running?"
Sheng Ting smiled and said, "Xiao Qian said she has a weak constitution, so just in case, she has to exercise every day!"
"Well, I'm not very good at cooking..." Zhou Ran said, feeling genuinely embarrassed.
Sheng Ting smiled and said, "It's okay, I can do it! Sit down first, I'll be done in a minute."
"Let me help you out," Zhou Ran said, though he wasn't very good at it, he still offered to help.
Sheng Ting said, "No need, no need, I'll be done in a minute."
"Then I'll serve the porridge!"
Zhou Ran didn't want to trouble others on the first day.
I felt bad seeing Sheng Ting working so hard all by herself.
Sensing her discomfort, Sheng Ting didn't stop her.
After talking, Sheng Ting learned that Zhou Ran was actually two years older than her.
Sheng Ting is eighteen years old this year, five months older than Sheng Qian.
"I can't believe you're older than me," perhaps because Zhou Ran is beautiful.
Zhou Ran smiled bitterly: "Am I very old?"
"How could you possibly age! You're even more beautiful than TV stars, you'll never age!"
"You're really good with words, did Sheng Qian teach you that?" Who doesn't like being told they're pretty? Zhou Ran is no exception.
Sheng Ting said, "Xiao Qian taught me a lot, but I have poor learning ability and can't learn many things well."
She was also eager to help Sheng Qian.
Zhou Ran blinked and asked a personal question: "Are you and Sheng Qian biological sisters or from the same village?"
“Cousins,” Sheng Ting said, not feeling there was anything to hide.
“You two are nothing alike,” Zhou Ran said.
“Xiao Qian is the village beauty in our area! Of course, she’s different from me!” When Sheng Qian was mentioned, Sheng Ting’s smile deepened.
Zhou Ran observed Sheng Ting's expression and discovered that Sheng Ting and Sheng Qian had a very good relationship.
"Sister Zhou, did something happen to you?" Sheng Ting looked at Zhou Ran's still-bandaged wound and asked.
Zhou Ran's eyes darkened, and he said, "After I cut ties with my family, I ran away on my own and later hung out with Brother Jie and his gang. I was quite scared back then, but when I ran into enemies, I was able to raise my stick and fight them. Yesterday, I was ambushed by my rivals and almost lost my life."
Sheng Ting thought Zhou Ran had been beaten up by his family, but she was shocked to find out it was from a fight. She was speechless with shock.
Seeing this, Zhou Ran smirked, "Are you regretting taking me in?"
After arguing with Gao Jie, she ran away and had nowhere to go, so she came to Sheng Qian's place.
"No, no... it's just that I think it's too dangerous. You're a young lady, it's not suitable for you to do this kind of thing." Sheng Ting just felt that Zhou Ran was too amazing, able to survive in a complex environment all by yourself.
Zhou Ran was taken aback for a moment, then laughed.
Sheng Ting was a little confused by the laughter.
When Liu Hongfang and the others arrived, they saw Zhou Zhi, the boy who had come to the store last time, and they all looked at Zhou Ran with curiosity.
