Chapter 260 Strange Plants, Bizarre Events, Encounter with Carlos

If the Northern Hemisphere is truly as dangerous as Qianye described, it would be too dangerous for Xiaoxiao to stay there alone.

Guo Xiaoxiao fell asleep in the warm cave without realizing it. When she woke up again, she was awakened by the glaring sunlight and her stomach was growling. She was hungry!

Rubbing her eyes, Guo Xiaoxiao slowly sat up. She was surprised to find that her surroundings had changed drastically. Last night, by the moonlight, she had seen only bare rock walls and a sleeping straw mat—nothing special.

At this point, everything has changed dramatically.

The cave rocks are covered with all kinds of flowers, their fragrance wafting in the air, a light and pleasant scent. Crystal-clear water droplets hang from the blank spaces on the cave walls, falling to the ground with a crisp, tinkling sound.

A dazzling scene, leaving one completely bewildered.

Guo Xiaoxiao stroked her chin, surveying everything inside the cave. It was as if she were in two different places the moment she opened her eyes. She looked around to make sure she hadn't been moved.

That's so strange.

How can flowers bloom automatically on the wall overnight?

Guo Xiaoxiao got up and walked step by step along the rock wall, carefully examining the flowers, and discovered that they were not ordinary flowers.

The petals are covered with tiny pores, seemingly absorbing moisture from the air.

She reached out and touched it gently, just a hair's breadth away.

A gust of wind blew by

Petals fluttered down, tracing graceful arcs in the air before slowly falling. Sunlight streamed down, filling every corner of the cave with vibrant colors, like a beautiful, dreamlike painting. Guo Xiaoxiao was mesmerized, forgetting where she was, staring blankly at them.

Sudden

Guo Xiaoxiao watched in surprise as the flower fell.

They were swaying rhythmically, like human gait, moving through the cave. Guo Xiaoxiao pinched her cheek; hiss…it hurt. It wasn't an illusion.

She tentatively approached again, and sure enough, the flowers seemed to leap and dance as if sensing her approach, moving in the opposite direction.

What on earth is this thing? Has it become a spirit?

Guo Xiaoxiao squatted down to observe them out of curiosity. They quickly returned to their original state, scattered all over the ground, becoming ordinary fallen flowers.

Guo Xiaoxiao called out to the system: "System, system!"

[System: Host, don't be afraid. The Northern and Southern Hemispheres are two completely different worlds, full of things beyond our comprehension. You'll get used to it.]

Guo Xiaoxiao: "It's amazing!" "Flowers bloomed on the wall, and the flowers seemed to be alive, moving on their own."

[System: Hmm, this is normal]

"This is normal?" Guo Xiaoxiao was speechless. She stepped out of the cave, and the scene outside was even more fantastical.

Many butterflies fluttered in the air, hovering and forming various patterns, some dancing gracefully, others swirling and fluttering.

Guo Xiaoxiao felt a tightness in her ankle. Looking down, she saw a red vine wrapped around her ankle, seemingly pulling at her.

Guo Xiaoxiao was startled. She kicked away the vines and continued walking forward, not daring to look back to see what was following her.

She had only taken a few steps when the pain returned to her ankle. Looking down, she saw vines wrapped around her ankle, pulling hard on her leg.

"Ah!" Guo Xiaoxiao screamed and fell to the ground.

"System, help! Help me!"

[System: Relax, if you relax, it won't pull you anymore]

Guo Xiaoxiao tried her best to calm her fear and anxiety.

After a while, the vines stopped pulling on Guo Xiaoxiao's legs and released themselves. The moment they broke free, Guo Xiaoxiao scrambled away, only stopping to catch her breath about a hundred meters from the cave.

The disaster continued. After a brief moment of calm, Guo Xiaoxiao's footing gave way, and she plummeted downwards, a strong feeling of suffocation washing over her.

"Ahhh"

He plummeted through the air, frantically flailing his arms but unable to grab onto anything for support. He thought he was going to be smashed to pieces, but instead landed on his bottom on the soft grass.

Guo Xiaoxiao patted her chest, relieved that she hadn't died from the fall. She stood up and dusted herself off.

Looking ahead, the scene before me was utterly breathtaking…

The lush green forest, with its dense trees blocking out the sun, felt like stepping into another world.

Where am I? Guo Xiaoxiao looked around, but all she could see was endless jungle, and she couldn't tell where she was at all.

A swarm of tiny flying insects, each the size of a fingertip, flew towards her. Guo Xiaoxiao instinctively dodged, but the insects merely circled her, making a few turns before disappearing to other places.

Guo Xiaoxiao stood there in a daze, wondering if it was just her imagination. Could someone really teleport instantly?

Guo Xiaoxiao looked up at the sky, and the light filtering through the leaves made her squint.

A loud rumble sounded in her ear, and Guo Xiaoxiao tensed up and became alert.

Then, the commotion grew louder and louder; the trees in the jungle began to move, and the leaves rustled and roared as if the earth were shaking.

One by one, the trees came to life, moving slowly. Guo Xiaoxiao could even see their roots moving with the agility of human feet, carrying their massive bodies step by step, causing the ground to tremble and sway as they advanced.

After a while, they parted to form a path, the middle section of which was flat, as if deliberately left open.

Fifty meters ahead

A gigantic banyan tree, its branches and leaves so dense they block out the sky, its canopy reaching tens of meters high, its roots deeply embedded in the soil, its thick trunk easily over 100 meters tall—almost as tall as a 30-story building.

The top is conical, sharp, and pierces the sky, like a long sword pointing straight into the heavens.

Guo Xiaoxiao was speechless. How could this tree grow so tall?

She swallowed hard, strode over, and stood under the banyan tree. She looked up at it for a moment, then dared not move.

The canopy of this banyan tree has bark as hard as iron, covered with patterns, and a small round hole in the center of the canopy where birds can perch.

This was the first time Guo Xiaoxiao had ever seen such a tall tree. She stopped wandering around aimlessly and stayed put, intending to use her psionic powers to contact Arthur and the others.

Only heard

"Xiaoxiao..."

A familiar voice came from not far away. Guo Xiaoxiao turned around and saw Carlos.

He stood by the tree, dressed in a black robe, and flashed her a bright smile. He was overjoyed to see Guo Xiaoxiao.

Guo Xiaoxiao was the one who was most excited. Without thinking, she ran to Carlos, hugged his waist, and her joy was overflowing.

What are you doing here?

"I arrived in the Northern Hemisphere before you, knowing you would come, and I'm waiting for you."

Carlos stroked her hair.

"I see," Guo Xiaoxiao said, releasing Carlos.

"Have you encountered anything strange? Have you noticed? Everything here is very strange."

Carlos's expression turned slightly serious. "Some plants are intelligent; they haven't been attacked yet."

There is a connection between the space in which the Northern Hemisphere is located and the world in which it resides in the Southern Hemisphere. The different locations have led to changes in the ecological environment on both sides, but these changes do not affect the balance of the world.

It's like it's been pieced together in two, each with its own characteristics.

Guo Xiaoxiao asked, "Is it what Qianye said about trees that can walk and flowers that can spray poison?"
