Chapter 389: Entering the Crescent Moon Tribe, Considering Stealing Their Food

"They are apes."

Carlos: "Oh, no wonder, you walk in the trees."

The apes' nature allows them to walk in human form and even in trees, soaring through the air like Tarzan, moving along vines and leaping between trees.

They're not used to walking on the ground yet, but their natural love of climbing trees has allowed them to avoid many disasters, though their overall strength isn't great.

With Carlos by his side, Arthur came up with a new idea.

"If you don't want to be wiped out, contribute some of your food to us!"

One has the mindset of a rogue beast, the other the mindset of a strongman. Arthur is slightly better than Carlos in that he doesn't just kill people casually; he still has some humanity.

The orc, still on the ground, wanted to stall for time, say something, and find a chance to escape.

But Arthur didn't give them a chance. When Arthur kicked an orc into a tree and knocked him unconscious, all words came to an abrupt end.

It's very simple. Otherwise, all those dozen or so orcs will die here, and we'll bring people to your tribe.

Or you could proactively reveal your tribe's location, offering food in exchange for peace. Choose one: if you get robbed, nothing will be left; if you give, at least you might have some left.

This is the beast world. Don't blame others for stealing; even the weak apes have stolen from others. It's all a cycle of cause and effect, devoid of moral judgment.

After reaching an agreement with them, Carlos led Guo Xiaoxiao and the team to the territory of the Crescent Moon Tribe.

Guo Xiaoxiao's hips hurt a little when she sat on Randy, so she had Carlos carry her on his back.

It's really difficult to move around in the deep mountains and forests; even in ordinary villages, where there are no roads, they'll wear out a small path.

The apes preferred to climb trees, and the path was still covered in wild grass and forest. To speed things up, the females were carried by the orcs.

We arrived at the Crescent Moon Tribe. Their dwellings were all built in the trees, similar to the small wooden houses built in the trees in the past, but much higher.

Rows of buildings were visible, well-hidden by the dense foliage; they were practically invisible unless you were looking carefully. It must have been intentional, for security reasons.

Upon seeing intruders into the tribe, the orcs scrambled down from the trees with incredible speed, landing gracefully on the ground without even a scratch on their feet.

One by one, they surrounded the leader, making guttural noises like Tarzan, but then, noticing a continuous stream of people coming in from behind, they retreated hastily.

They're generally quite timid; Arthur and his group's aura is simply too overwhelming. They can't win, so it's wise for them to back down.

A beastman emerged from the crowd. He was of a rough appearance, about 1.8 meters tall, muscular, wearing animal skin shorts and a short-sleeved shirt, with a fur belt tied around his waist. His large eyes stared at Arthur and his companions.

Who are you?

"Why are you showing up in our territory? Do you want me to challenge you?"

"hehe"

Carlos chuckled coldly. The orc who spoke with such imposing manner was not powerful at all, at most a four-star ring level, or even someone who had just broken through. The pressure emanating from his body was not very strong, and there was a slight fluctuation between them.

"We are orcs from an ancient continent. Your people offended us and were detained in the back. In exchange, give us half of our food, and I will leave immediately."

Don't be ridiculous, giving away half the food is humiliating and blatant theft.

The chieftain's name is Alva, which sounds impressive, but his abilities are actually quite average.

"Ha, you migrated from somewhere else, and you come to steal things without even planning your territory. I'm not giving it to you, do you think I'm afraid?"

Carlos squinted, already understanding the situation; the other person definitely didn't want to make the trade.

"Since you're unwilling, then I won't be polite."

Carlos waved his hand, and his men, including Saruman, swiftly attacked, quickly dispatching the orc standing next to Alvar and knocking him to the ground.

Arthur took a step forward, forcing him to face himself.

Even knowing he couldn't defeat his opponent, Alva maintained the dignity befitting a chieftain.

The dozen or so orcs who had been tied up by Arthur immediately rushed to Alva's side.

He told Alva what had happened and gave a basic overview of their numbers and strength.

It means that going against them will definitely not end well. Our star rings are generally low, mostly at the first star level. What can we use to compete with them?

Let's forget about it. Peace is the most important thing. Let them give it to us. This place has abundant resources. We can always fight again.

Even so, it's too shameful for a perfectly good tribe to give away half of its food.

So, out of fear, they've stopped even from fighting? Alva knows the Crescent Moon tribe has always been timid as mice, but he never expected that in his pursuit of peace, he would have to endure such humiliation.

During his years as clan leader, he had become utterly speechless with them.

In other tribes, the position of chieftain is fiercely contested, with everyone vying for it. But in the Crescent Moon tribe, everyone makes excuses and avoids taking on this arduous task.

And just as he broke through from three stars to four stars, everyone unanimously recommended him as the clan leader; there was no way to refuse.

For example, Arthur might have captured a dozen or so people. Deep down, they wanted to protect the tribe, but their own survival was paramount. They had no other choice; they needed to live.

They tried their best, they fought for it, but if they really couldn't keep their tribe's position, then they would just say it.

The saying goes, "Take a step back and the sea and sky will broaden." Why resort to fighting and killing? If you can intimidate people with words, then speak first; if you can't, then back down.

If I can win, I'll fight; if I can't, I'll run. If I can't escape, then I'll just have to sell out my teammates.

"Do you think they can steal anything from us? They're bullying us right here. Have some backbone, will you?"
