Miksen agreed, not because he enjoyed arguing, but because he felt this was a crucial time, and some things, if left unresolved, would keep you in the dark. However, he also didn't want further infighting between tribes, causing unnecessary losses.
At the urging of Randy and Mickson, the two tribes temporarily ceased their conflict. Friction still existed, but both sides exercised restraint and avoided an outbreak.
…
Inside the other cave, the battle raged on, involving more than two thousand people, estimated at least four thousand. They had brought over three thousand with them, but thankfully, they hadn't heeded the message from the Crescent Moon tribe.
Otherwise, given the violence of the wandering orcs and their numerical advantage, they would have no chance of winning at all; the two of them couldn't possibly hold up a stage.
With the strong support of Arthur and Carlos, the two sides are temporarily tied, and Ling Feng, despite having more men, is unable to defeat them.
They've already broken open the cave's entrance; they're ready to fight anytime. Carlos is determined to take the cave and won't give Ling Feng a chance to gather his forces.
The continent is vast, and there are many places we haven't been to. Unless it's for training or natural disasters, orcs won't migrate on a large scale.
Some orcs are very unruly and have an innate tendency towards violence. They are not accepted by the tribes because of their selfish and self-serving nature, and cannot join other tribes. They become wandering beasts and end up on the Forgotten Continent.
"Ling Feng, give up. I am determined to take the grotto and will not tolerate your tantrums on the territory I built with my own hands."
Despite using his special skills, Ling Feng still had some wounds of varying sizes on his body; they weren't serious, but he was struggling to stay afloat.
But he still refused to give up, still harboring a wish to fight Arthur one-on-one. The current situation was unfavorable for him; it was a 2-on-1 situation, and he wasn't gaining the upper hand.
The star ring is a symbol of power; Arthur once told him that orcs are born with a predetermined rank.
Ling Feng had listened to him quite a bit until that kick woke him up completely. What was the point of always being submissive to someone else? He needed to take control of the power.
Working under Carlos was merely a ploy to eliminate him after he unified both continents, but unfortunately, orcs from the Southern Hemisphere appeared out of nowhere.
Otherwise, he could have reaped the benefits without lifting a finger. Since he couldn't become the Beast King easily, there was no reason for him to refuse Arthur's offer.
Arthur's skill is to summon a horde of beasts, but it's far inferior to his blade; the former is stronger but less skilled.
Ling Feng was absolutely confident he could beat Arthur in a one-on-one fight.
To test the power of his newly acquired skill, he kept it a secret from the stray beasts, not wanting others to discover it, which is why he delayed until now.
Ling Feng clearly knew his own limitations. Although his skills were powerful, his attack power was too low. Once an enemy got close, he would only be able to take hits. Therefore, he would keep his distance whenever he got close and would never engage in close combat.
Arthur's skills are controllable, while Lingfeng's skills are limitless. Wind-attribute skills mean you won't feel weak no matter how many times you use them.
Arthur's Beast Tide technique, however, causes a noticeable drop in his energy with each use—a burst of energy consumption, somewhat similar to Guo Xiaoxiao's enhanced Void. The side effects are less pronounced, but it's more than enough for overwhelming opponents.
With everything prepared, Ling Feng looked at Carlos and said, "You step back. I want to fight him one-on-one."
Carlos shook his head: "Why should I back down when I can take you down in one fell swoop? Do you really think I'm some ancient beastman from the continent, that my blood belongs to wandering beasts with no rules? Just obediently prepare to die."
Arthur, however, didn't see it that way. Leaving aside why Ling Feng had the audacity, he had issued a challenge, so he had to accept it. Besides, wouldn't dealing with him be a piece of cake? Why would he be afraid?
With a powerful Reverse Star Ring and a newly broken-through Five-Star Ring, he was more than capable.
The only thing worth praising is that Ling Feng's star-level ascension speed is too fast, faster than expected. Did he use some other method?
"I accept the challenge to fight Carlos. You just watch from the sidelines. Everyone else, stop."
Arthur stood still and shouted at the crowd, then said...
"If I fight your leader, you will gain no advantage whatsoever. There are only 3,000 people here, and another 8,000 guarding outside. Once I bring them all in, not one of them will escape."
"If I win, you can move with the stray beasts, and I'll give you the cave."
Ling Feng replied with a smile, "What if you lose?"
"Then you can do whatever you want with me."
Ling Feng nodded in agreement: "If I win, you let your partner break the bond mark again, how about that?"
Carlos stood beside Arthur, slightly raising his eyebrows, but said nothing.
The days of being haunted by backlash were Arthur's nightmare. Hearing those two words made him want to tear Ling Feng to shreds. Daring to provoke and mock him with tales of the past was unforgivable.
Arthur remained calm and did not show any signs of panic or loss of composure in front of others.
"Alright, I can agree to that."
After agreeing on the terms, the two orcs, amidst shouts, cleared a large space, forming a circle around them, allowing the two to fight in the center.
"Arthur killed him and took over the cave."
"Don't be polite with him. He's obviously a coward. He dares to challenge Arthur; he's got a death wish."
"I'm telling you, you'd better surrender and leave now, or I'll spare your lives. You're just a bunch of wandering orcs, destined for nothing."
The stray beastmen also roared.
"You should all get out of here! Orcs from the ancient continent have come to the Forgotten Continent hoping to join us as wandering beasts?"
"Make sure the females obediently come forward."
"We know you brought a lot of females; we're going to rob them later."
The subsequent speech was in a wild, animalistic language; they were half-beasts, howling and snarling at each other, each refusing to yield.
