Chapter 34 Cat and Tiger Climbing the Mountain

Chapter 34 Cat and Tiger Climbing the Mountain

The azure sky and lush green mountains met, and the sounds of birds and insects filled the air. The little squirrel woke up early and was about to speak when Gu Zheng stopped him.

He turned his head and saw that the kitten was still sleeping.

The sun slowly rose from the end of the river, and the sunlight sprinkled down from the top of the mountain, falling on the pine tree bit by bit, scattered on every pine needle, and finally falling on the kitten.

He Jing woke up in a warm atmosphere, and as soon as he opened his eyes, he was startled by the squirrel in front of his face.

"Meow! What are you doing?"

"Let me see what kind of pig can sleep for so long." Gu Zheng was not there at the moment, and Gao Songyang took advantage of the kitten still being confused and immediately rubbed its ears.

"It's almost ten o'clock now. Do you always stay up this late when you're with the captain?"

He Jing shook off his hand from his head. "I slept late last night and stayed with Gu Zheng to dry his fur. Unlike you, you fell asleep before you even crossed the river."

As he said this, he grabbed the squirrel in front of him and rubbed its big tail hard.

After arguing with Gao Songyang for a while, I finally saw the scenery in front of me. It was completely different from the dark and terrifying night. Now it looked like a colorful painting.

Behind me are steady and majestic mountains, in front of me is gentle water, and in between are lush green grass and flowers of various colors.

Flowers of various colors form strips of flower carpets along the river bank, like clouds in the sky.

Gu Zheng walked across the flower carpet, and the white tiger's strong and majestic body was covered with golden edges from the light.

"How is it? Isn't our captain super handsome!"

"Yes, he is very handsome." He Jing replied frankly.

Gao Songyang suddenly came over and whispered, "You are not a distant relative of the captain, are you?"

He Jing blinked.

"Don't underestimate my ability to gather and analyze information! Even though you look like a grown cat, you haven't even made it past the transformation stage."

He Jing blinked frantically.

"Don't worry, you are the captain's man, and also my friend Gao Songyang. I will definitely not betray you. Maybe we can go to school together when we go back."

He Jing finally stopped blinking and smiled.

Gu Zheng caught several big fish and a few crabs from the river.

The little squirrel's face was distorted. He didn't expect that he could eat so well every meal with the captain. o(≧口≦)o

He bit the crab legs fiercely, wow, they were so delicious.

After dinner, it was time to separate. The red squirrel took out a handful of peeled pine nuts from somewhere and handed them to the kitten.

"You seem to like it, but you're too clumsy to peel it. Here, take these and eat them." Gao Songyang's pretended carefree eyes slowly turned into disappointment. "I'm leaving now. Give me another piece of your tea leaves, and I'll keep an eye on them for you."

"Just a little bit!"

"Yeah, yeah, you won't take the initiative to help me find it." He Jing took out a few pieces and handed them over.

Gao Songyang was so angry that his eyes were shining.

He Jing took out a strawberry-flavored supplement from Gu Zheng's bag and handed it to him. "Be sure to be careful! If you are in danger, call me. Your captain and I will rush over immediately."

The little squirrel didn't know whether to be shocked that there were strawberry-flavored supplements in Gu Zheng's bag, or to be shocked that the kitten could decide the actions of his captain.

After a long silence, he gave up thinking and said, "Okay, see you again if we're lucky~"

The red squirrel hopped away, and the gray squirrel appeared in front of him, this time handing over a large bag of peeled pine nuts.

"Captain, Miss He, thank you for your care. I'm leaving now."

The three of them waved goodbye, and the gray squirrel chased the red squirrel away.

"Once we cross this mountain, we will reach the North Pole." Gu Zheng chose a relatively flat road up the mountain.

"This mountain marks the boundary to the Arctic. From the top you can see sunshine on one side and snow on the other. The sunrise is also different from anywhere else."

"If you want, we can stay on the top of the mountain tonight and get used to the Arctic weather."

The kitten nodded frantically in anticipation.

"We need to find some supplies before entering the Arctic. There will be some warming items in the supply box here."

The two began to climb the mountain, and the tiger's figure was particularly graceful as it moved through the trees.

When He Jing woke up this morning, his size had almost reached that of an adult forest cat. It wasn't noticeable on the flat ground, but once he entered the dense jungle, he could feel the difference.

Why? Because it would hit a tree.

Gu Zheng felt helpless as he looked at the kitten that combined maturity and childishness.

He stopped the kitten several times when she almost hit a tree, but he didn't know how to teach her.

When the kitten once again misjudged its own size and got stuck between two trees, Gu Zheng finally stopped.

The tiger grabbed the kitten's neck from behind and pulled it out.

There was a long silence. "It's a feeling."

He Jing blushed, "It's not that I don't feel anything, it's just strange, it wasn't so obvious before."

"This forest is much denser than the one down the mountain."

After saying that, I felt a bit off topic and thought for a moment: "Use your beard to evaluate it before passing."

He Jing took two steps forward and stared at Hu Zi, feeling dizzy and his big eyes became cross-eyed.

"Heh~" Gu Zheng couldn't help but chuckle, and He Jing immediately turned around and stared at him! (._.)

The tiger put away his smile and became serious.

He Jing grinned at him, turned back and continued trying, and finally found the feeling after getting stuck a few more times.

The surrounding trees are somewhat different from those at the foot of the mountain. The higher you go, the denser they become, with various pine trees, cypress trees, and fir trees growing together.

Larch, twisted pine, ponderosa pine, juniper, hemlock, silver fir...

Some are in clusters, some are scattered, and their roots are intertwined and cannot be distinguished, but they all grow tall and strong, reaching into the sky.

There are also mouse plum, mountain laurel, blueberry, and hawksbill scattered between the trees, yellow, white, purple... dancing with the breeze that occasionally comes from nowhere.

You can actually see little rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, cottontail rats... This place is like a natural paradise.

They run around at a distance and hide quickly when other animals approach.

It doesn't seem like pure fear, but more like finding fun in this back and forth.

The deeper you go, the thicker the trees become. He Jing looked up and felt that he couldn't see the tops of the trees. He was shocked. This was the magic of nature.

The tree in front of him was about two or three meters in diameter. He Jing stopped and his eyes lit up.

"What is this? Blueberry?" She sharpened her claws and climbed up a tree full of small round blue fruits and asked curiously.

"This is juniper. Be careful as you might be allergic to its pollen." Gu Zheng looked up.

It would have been fine if Gu Zheng hadn't said anything, but as soon as he started talking about it, He Jing felt a little itchy.

She hesitated for a moment, but still got down from the tree obediently and ran to a place two steps away from Gu Zheng to shake her fur.

The higher they climbed, the closer they got to the sun. The air began to warm up, and the rustling sounds in their ears became more and more frequent. The whole mountain seemed to be gradually awakening, and everything was talking.
