Chapter 58: Extinct Earthlings

Chapter 58: Extinct Earthlings

At ten o'clock in the morning, He Jing woke up as usual and lay in bed feeling depressed until noon.

Gu Zheng was also at home for lunch. The girl in front of him had faint dark circles under her eyes and looked listless.

"What's wrong?"

He Jing opened his mouth and said, "Nothing..."

Seeing that she didn't want to talk, Gu Zheng didn't force her.

After dinner, Gu Zheng left in a hurry. He was about to leave Clan Star as he had some work to finish.

He Jing went to the sun room and took a nap in the rattan chair for more than an hour.

Today's sun is particularly gentle, caressing her gently with the melodious fragrance of flowers.

Soothe her emotions little by little.

The experiences in the rehearsal ground are all real. Gu Zheng, Aunt Wen Qing, Zhou Bai, Uncle Xu, the little squirrel... they are all real.

I also learned new words and gained sincere feelings that I had not felt in the previous twenty years.

That's enough.

He Jing calmed down and continued to attend the class.

There are only two classes left in the language course, and I can already communicate in my daily life without any obstacles.

His handwriting was also very good, and Uncle Xu praised him repeatedly after seeing it.

When He Jing finished the course, the sunset was just beginning to appear in the sky.

When I looked up, I saw a cherry cheesecake next to me. I didn't know when Gu Zheng came back and was sitting beside me quietly watching the tablet.

"Huh? When did you come back? Why didn't you call me?"

"You seem to be studying very hard. Have you finished?"

"Yeah! I've finished reading it all, I feel like there's nothing I've missed~"

"Well, let's eat the cake." Gu Zheng put down the tablet, clasped his hands on his knees, and watched He Jing open the cake.

"Did you buy it outside?"

"Yes, Yang Ziang recommended it."

He Jing pinched the small spoon and scooped a little along the edge and put it into his mouth. His eyes lit up, "So smooth! Very fruity~"

Gu Zheng nodded and said with a smile: "There are other flavors, I will bring them to you later."

"Hmm~" He Jing nodded repeatedly and handed the other spoon to Gu Zheng, motioning him to eat.

"What's the name of this shop? What flavors do they have?"

Gu Zheng paused, took the small spoon, and his fingertips inadvertently touched the other person's soft fingertips.

"...Reunion dessert, strawberry, mango, black forest, nuts, which one do you want tomorrow?"

"Strawberry, right?" He Jing thought for a moment and didn't notice his change.

Gu Zheng nodded, took two bites and put down the spoon.

He Jing enjoyed the meal happily, and the last bit of sadness in his heart was swept away! (^^*)

By the time I realized what was happening, the whole cake was already in my stomach, so at Gu Zheng's insistence, dinner was postponed for another hour. (^///^)

After dinner, Gu Zheng entered He Jing's room openly for the first time when both of them were sober.

He sat on the small sofa, and on the table was the after-dinner fruit that Uncle Xu had sent.

He Jing picked up the book on the bedside table and snuggled up on the sofa together. "I found my planet."

Gu Zheng raised his eyebrows and met He Jing's nervous eyes.

"Earth?"

"Yeah." He Jing threw the book up, and a huge gray-blue planet was covering his head.

"That's it. I know the words on it."

Gu Zheng looked at the font above and compared it in his mind. "There is some information in the library with text like this."

He Jing's eyes lit up instantly, and he leaned over unconsciously, "Really?"

Gu Zheng felt the warmth on his arm and nodded gently, "It looks about the same."

The smile on He Jing's face faded and he shrank back into the sofa.

Gu Zheng looked at the person with a troubled face, picked up a piece of pineapple and handed it to her, "What are you thinking about?"

"Well...if I said I was from Earth and that I traveled through time, would you believe me?"

"I believe that in the early days of the Genesis, many of the first planets made attempts at cross-time and space for the purpose of cultural heritage. Although these materials have been lost now, it does not mean that there have been no successful cases."

"Really? Are there other people in the same situation as me?"

“Nothing has been found yet.”

He Jing "..." (⊙⊙)

Well, at least he believed it, didn't he?

Gu Zheng raised his hand and tucked her scattered bangs behind her ears. The gray-blue light reflected on his face, making him look mysterious and gentle.

"Just because something can't be proven or explained doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You are special, but being special isn't a mistake."

"Perhaps the unmatched segment of your genes is the ancient Earth gene."

Gu Zheng's tone did not change, as if this was a trivial matter.

He Jing breathed a sigh of relief, and his tense heartstrings slowly relaxed.

"Do you mind if I tell Aunt Jiang about this? Maybe she can find the answer."

He Jing shook his head, "I also want to thank Zhou Bai for this book."

Gu Zheng nodded lightly and sent a message to Jiang Wenqing.

He Jing relaxed and began to share the planet in front of him with Gu Zheng.

"It used to be blue, and it was very beautiful and very special."

"This is the North Pole, which should be similar to the North Pole at the training ground, but I haven't been there."

"This is the location of the ancient Hua Kingdom. It's a vast country with cities, oceans, forests, rivers, and deserts..."

"This is……"

The sound in my ears grew fainter and fainter until my shoulders sank.

In the quiet room, soft breathing scratched his neck like a kitten's paw.

Very itchy.

He rubbed his fingertips and suddenly wanted to smoke a cigarette.

But he didn't move and let He Jing lean against him quietly.

Suddenly, his knees felt heavy. Gu Zheng lowered his eyes and saw the forest cat he hadn't seen for many days.

It squinted its eyes, glanced at it, and then curled itself up into its legs again.

Gu Zheng's hand finally found a place to rest. He stroked the kitten's head gently, time and again.

The kitten rubbed its head against his hand, closed its eyes and began to sleep.

It felt warm and soft under my hand, much like its owner.

He Jing's mental power course has not yet begun, and he has forgotten all about it after becoming a human.

Now I can completely relax, and my spirit body finally has a chance to run out and get some fresh air.

Gu Zheng's mind moved, and a huge white tiger appeared beside his legs.

It didn't make a sound. It nodded at Gu Zheng first, then gently picked up the forest cat. When it turned around, its tail pretended to casually sweep across He Jing's calf.

Facing Gu Zheng's gloomy gaze, Baihu walked to the carpet beside him, lay down, coiled the kitten on his abdomen, closed his eyes and dozed off.

Gu Zheng held the girl's head with one hand and picked her up with the other.

He walked lightly to the bed and tucked the person into the quilt.

The face against the pillow was peaceful and beautiful. Gu Zheng looked at it for a while, then stood up and left.

White Tiger did not follow.

He glanced back and saw the white tiger lying there with its head turned to the side.

After two seconds of silence, he walked over and kicked it lightly.

The white tiger swept its tail impatiently and coiled the kitten tighter.

Gu Zheng stared for a while, but the white tiger remained unmoved. The forest cat's ears trembled slightly, as if it was about to wake up.

The air was still for two seconds, the door opened, and Gu Zheng walked out alone. A gleam flashed in Baihu's eyes, and he rubbed the kitten's head with satisfaction.

Outside the window, the stars were shining and birds were singing occasionally. The forest cat lay on the white tiger's belly and was sleeping soundly.

He Jing's dream was peaceful.

Gu Zheng came out of the shower and leaned on the bed to check messages.

Aunt Jiang: Got it. It’s difficult to determine the first generation of genes. I will pay more attention to it.

Gu Zheng: Yes, thank you very much.
