Chapter 36 Pond (2/2)

At noon, she made boiled eggplant and water spinach with garlic, and also prepared egg and tomato soup.

After the three of them had their meal, Kang Mingyuan and Han Yimo, who were bored of staying at home, washed the dishes, put on their straw hats, covered themselves with plastic sheets, and carried buckets to the river to catch crayfish.

After seeing them leave, Qiao Mo also put on her hat and went to the river. However, Kang Mingyuan and the others went upstream, while she went downstream. She walked along the river for three or four hundred meters, released her spiritual sense, and there was nothing around except the drizzle. She squatted by the river and put her hand into the river. The water in the river flowed along her hand into the field opened in the wooden bracelet space. Along with the water, the small fish, shrimps and some aquatic plants in the river also flowed in.

The amount of water was huge and soon it covered the mud in the field and reached the water level she had set, which was the middle of the field ridge. She called out to stop in her heart and tried to withdraw her hand, but it was of no use. She used all her strength to pull out the hand that was in the water but failed. The water still flowed continuously along her hand into the space of the wooden bracelet.

She watched the soil in the field sink continuously under the pressure of the water, sinking until it reached a height of nearly five meters before stopping. However, the water level remained unchanged, finally remaining in the middle of the field. Just when the soil stopped sinking, the water stopped flowing into the space, and she withdrew her hand with ease.

She probed her spiritual sense into the space. The area that was to be used as a paddy field had become a small pond. She thought silently, "How could this space possibly have a pond? It seems that this space is not something I can control."

Thinking of this, she felt a little more panic and alert. She observed for a long time and was relieved only when she didn't find any other changes.

Although the paddy field was destroyed, she now had a small pond. She couldn't say whether she was disappointed or happy: with a small pond, she could raise some fish and shrimp in it. If the paddy field was destroyed, she would have to work hard to open up the field if she wanted to grow rice.

She stood up and looked at the riverside. After finding no loopholes, she walked along the river bank.

Dinner was steamed buns with crayfish and a vegetable. Kang Mingyuan and his friends caught a lot of crayfish this afternoon and washed them thoughtfully. Qiao Mo only had to fry them.

Qiao Mo originally planned to make two flavors, but Kang Mingyuan and Han Yimo said they were used to eating spicy food and insisted that she make spicy crayfish. Qiao Mo knew that they were afraid that they would be tired, so she accepted their kindness. Although she only made one flavor, she tried her best to use less chili and peppercorns while ensuring the taste.

Kang Mingyuan and Han Yimoyuan were prepared to sweat from the spicy food, but when they ate it they realized that Qiao Mo had actually used less chili and peppercorns to cater to their tastes. They felt that she was considerate and warm, and they liked her even more and truly regarded her as one of their own.

A large bowl of spicy crayfish was eaten up by the three of them. Together with the buns and vegetables, they were so full that they could only go for a walk by the river together.

"I wonder if it will rain tomorrow." Qiao Mo looked at the gray sky. It had been raining for two days. If it continued like this, she would get moldy.

"It's likely to rain. What? Can't you stay here?" Kang Mingyuan said, looking up at the sky.

"It rains every day and I can't even go out. I'm so annoyed." Qiao Mo said with a pout.

"Other people wish it would rain for a few more days so they can stay home and not have to go to work, but you hope it will be sunny. Don't you think working is tiring?" Han asked her with a smile.

"If you don't go to work and don't get any work points, what will you eat in the future?" Qiao Mo looked at him like an idiot.

"Mo Mo is right. Also, if it rains all the time, the harvest from the fields will definitely not be very good. If the harvest is poor, less food will be produced, and the amount distributed to each person will also be reduced accordingly. So, let's pray for good weather." Kang Mingyuan slapped him in the face.

"Brother Yuan, please stop knocking. If I become stupid, you'll have to support me." Han Yimo covered his head and jumped to the side.
