Chapter 155 Carrier Pigeons

The female animal carefully held the egg, her face filled with sorrow.

It was clear that she was very reluctant to part with them. She reached out and stroked them again and again, but finally made up her mind and handed both items to Shen Miao.

Shen Miao didn't know whether to accept them or not; both things felt incredibly hot to the touch.

She was hesitating when she suddenly woke up.

Shen Miao's eyes were still somewhat blank as she stared straight at the ceiling. It turned out to be just a dream, but the dream was too realistic.

She turned her head sharply to look at where the female beast was standing, but didn't see any golden eagle. She then looked at the bedside, where there used to be an egg and a beast crystal, but now there was nothing there.

Shen Miao couldn't help but laugh at herself. She already knew it was a dream, so what else did she want to see?

Even so, Shen Miao still felt a little sad, for that golden eagle female beast, or perhaps she really did have an egg.

Unfortunately, I couldn't help her.

Just as she was thinking this, the cubs' exclamations suddenly came from outside. Shen Miao's nerves were already on edge, and upon hearing this, she almost immediately jumped up and rushed outside.

The children were gathered around something, their faces full of curiosity. When they saw Shen Miao come out, they hurriedly called out, "Mother, come and see!"

Shen Miao asked curiously, "What's wrong?"

He walked over in two strides and saw a leather bundle outside the door. The bundle had been opened, revealing what was inside: a beast crystal and an egg.

It was exactly the same as the one she had seen in her dream.

Shen Miao was startled. She looked around and quickly brought the bundle inside, then closed the courtyard gate behind her. Seeing her like this, the little one also became nervous and asked mysteriously, "Mommy, who gave this to our family?"

"Even Mother doesn't know," Shen Miao lied, because she herself couldn't explain it.

Who would believe you if you said you had a dream?

The children said "Oh," and Sanbao pointed at the smooth egg, drooling, and said, "Let's eat this egg. I've never eaten such a big egg before."

Shen Miao was both amused and exasperated upon hearing this.

This little foodie's first thought was food. She gently tapped Sanbao's head and said, "No, this egg, um, this egg, it's very powerful, we can't eat it."

"Ah, how powerful is he? Is he as powerful as my older brothers?" Little Sibao asked innocently.

This little one has completely forgotten the fact that he also has abilities; he only remembers that Da Bao and Er Bao have cool wind and water control abilities.

Shen Miao lied without batting an eye: "We don't know yet. Let's wait and see, okay?"

The little ones were very curious about just how powerful this round egg was. After hearing what Shen Miao said, they all decided to wait for the egg to demonstrate its amazing abilities.

Taking the opportunity, Shen Miao said, "You want to see its abilities, right? Then we'll treat it well."

Da Bao, San Bao, and Si Bao all responded enthusiastically, but Er Bao, with a slightly arrogant look on his face, said, "I think it's definitely no match for me. I could poke it with just one finger."

"No!" Shen Miao sternly stopped him, lecturing Erbao, "Erbao, there are always people more capable than you. We must be humble and not blindly arrogant, or we will suffer. Do you understand?"

Erbao seemed reluctant, but still nodded in agreement.

Shen Miao was satisfied and put away the egg and the beast crystal. She was actually quite conflicted about where to hide them, since the egg was fragile and could easily break into pieces if she wasn't careful.

At first, Shen Miao wanted to put it on the bed because she felt that was the safest place. But then she thought that if she put it on the bed, it might be crushed if she turned over.

Later, they thought of putting it in a jar, in an animal skin, and so on. The little ones watched as Shen Miao held the egg and muttered to herself, and they felt a little strange.

When Shen Miao finally put the eggs down, she turned around and saw the strange looks on the little ones' faces. Behind the little ones, there was another big little one.

Shen Miao suddenly felt a little embarrassed. She really couldn't explain why she cared so much about an egg of unknown origin.

"Well, I think this egg needs to be protected properly," Shen Miao explained dryly.

The younger ones are easy to fool, but it's Qingchen who's the main problem.

Seeing Qingchen's suspicious look, Shen Miao decided to find an opportunity to tell him the truth.

After the children left, Shen Miao told them everything about her dream.

After listening, Qingchen showed no unusual expression, and simply asked, "What do you plan to do?"

Shen Miao was very distressed.

She didn't know what to do either. To be honest, as an outsider, she didn't know as much about things here as the locals did.

"I don't know," Shen Miao answered honestly, then tentatively asked, "What do you think?"

Qingchen offered four words: "Wait and see."

Shen Miao: Alright, there's no better way anyway, let's just wait and see.

“Jiuying has been gone for a long time. I don’t know when he will return, and there’s been no news from him. I’ll write a letter to ask him.” Shen Miao changed the subject.

This is the difference between the orc world and the modern world.

In her past life, a problem that could be solved with a single phone call is now incredibly difficult to solve here.

Qingchen didn't say anything, watching with amusement as Shen Miao held the charcoal and animal hide, gesturing on it for a long time, but couldn't write a single word.

She simply doesn't know how to write these characters.

I do know a few people, but I have absolutely no way to write anything for them.

After hesitating for a long time, Shen Miao finally raised her head and looked at Qing Chen earnestly.

Qingchen pretended not to see anything and turned his gaze to the distance.

Shen Miao gritted her teeth. This person must be doing this on purpose.

"Qingchen," Shen Miao finally spoke after much hesitation.

Qingchen hummed in agreement, his face full of confusion.

"What are you pretending for?" Shen Miao thought to herself, but smiled sweetly on her face, holding a charcoal pencil and animal hide in her hand. "Do you want to help me write a letter?"

"What's in it for me?" Qingchen asked coldly.

Shen Miao asked nervously, "Can I cook you a nice meal?"

Qingchen seemed to consider it for a moment, then tilted his head and said, "Bring it to my room."

Shen Miao was overjoyed and ran to Qingchen's room like a lackey. While Qingchen was writing a letter, she watched intently, her thirst for knowledge burning brightly.

In fact, she wasn't looking at Qingchen's handwriting, but at his hands.

Those hands, with their distinct knuckles, long and slender, were as beautiful as works of art.

Unfortunately, it was made of charcoal.

Holding a fountain pen, ballpoint pen, or even a calligraphy brush would look quite nice, wouldn't it?

Unable to bear the stare any longer, Qingchen spoke up: "Go and bring the messenger pigeon over."

Shen Miao was reluctant to leave; she still wanted to see Qingchen write.

Qingchen glanced at her, his gaze cold and icy. Shen Miao couldn't hold back any longer and raised her hands in surrender, "Fine, fine, I'll go get the pigeons."

The tribe has its own carrier pigeons. Shen Miao had previously obtained two small ones and trained them to deliver messages, and now they're coming in handy.
